If he's full esper then we'll get 6 planeswalkers in this block (like Tamiyo). They prefer not to make planeswalkers that niche.

I very much doubt the six walkers had to do with Tamiyo being three color. More likely, it was because Arlinn was a transforming DFC card.

Just asking out of curiosity, the black splash offers only Shaman of the Pack as pay off card while the white splash Forge-Tender (or Selfless Spirit) + SB cards?

    Greetings,
    Kathal

Some GW lists also run Mirror Entity in main, but aside from that, your assessment is correct.

This is interesting to know. One of the 2 main reasons that I have yet to run Elves (it being actually my 2nd favorite tribe after Faeries) was that I felt that I wouldn't stand a chance vs. Jund. I would hate to get into a slugfest where I land a creature, they kill a creature, etc. I realize that there is Collected Company, Chord, and sometimes Lead the Stampede, but I figured these would get discarded early and leave me with creatures vs. creature removal. Frown I had no idea of the matchup other than watching it twice at my LGS.

Now...the only main reason keeping me from playing the deck is that I don't know what direction to take - GW, GB, Gwb? I felt like I wanted Collected Company and Lead the Stampede, but maybe it's better to have Chord? Since I'm so unsure of what list to run, I have decided against buying back the 4 Gilt-Leaf Palace that I sold a while ago after a spike. I think they're even more now, but definitely not undoable.

I'm not sure if what I'm saying applies to the BG Elf decks, but Liam's GW deck is able to rise above most mainboard spot removal very quickly. Collected Company is a VERY powerful card. Post-sideboard really depends on what the Jund player has available to him. Most sweepers are very slow and make it difficult to combat more explosive starts from the Elf player. Kozilek's Return is fantastic in that being instant speed allows you to do it in response to a Lord, while being Devoid also allows it to kill off boards even with Burrenton Forge-Tender out. Still, the matchup is very difficult for Jund given the way the Elf deck explodes on the board.

Liam is from my local store. I play Jund, and we play regularly almost every Thursday. He crushes me almost every time. Elves has a VERY favorable matchup against Jund. I'm actually now switching to Kozilek's Return in my sideboard over Anger of the Gods to try to stand a better chance.

Is there any reason that this couldn't be a more general mechanic? Something like Reform <Type> <Cost>. (<COST>, Sacrifice this: Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a <TYPE> card. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.)

    For example:

    Energised Elemental U
    Creature - Elemental (C)
Reform Instant 1U (1U, Sacrifice Energised Elemental: Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal an Instant card. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.)
    1/1

    Forgotten Bog
    Land (U)
    ~ enters the battlefield tapped.
T: Add B or G to your mana pool.
Reform Creature 2GB (2GB, Sacrifice Forgotten Bog: Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a creature card. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.).

It definitely could be worded that way. I only made it enchantment only because of flavor, but I suppose that works, too.

The reason I chose white and red is because white is the stereotypical enchantment color, and red is aligned with Purphoros, who is the god of the forge. This is easily flavored as reforging one enchantment into another.

I'd argue that forging enchantments (or metal) is still white, even if a "fire" is involved.

True, but mechanics still need to be in more than one color for balance and gameplay.

    It's not that much wordier.

Reform W (W: Put this enchantment on the bottom of your library, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal an enchantment card. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.)

    Okay, you've convinced me.

I fail to see how putting the enchantment into your graveyard where it is easily recurred is better for balance than tucking it where it's much harder to grab.

Tucking is more wordy, and shuffling in is a gameplay consideration, since Wizards is for reduced shuffling.

Just a quick mechanic I came up with on the fly. The idea was for something that would fit well on Theros. This mechanic would appear exclusively on Enchantment Creatures, and primarily appear in White and Red.

Reform <COST> (<COST>, Sacrifice this creature: Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal an enchantment card. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.)

    Here's a potential example for a common:

    Shifting Oread 1R
    Enchantment Creature - Nymph (C)

Reform 3R (3R, Sacrifice this creature: Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal an enchantment card. Put that card into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.)

    2/1

Loosely inspired by Evolutionary Leap, the flavor is the Gods using their power to reform their creations into new forms on the fly. Thoughts?

they don't even give Sorin the courtesy of a real death

here's hoping Ugin eats Nahiri sometime in the future

I honestly think he'd have been more inclined to eat Sorin.

This seems reasonable. Had Sorin just helped Nahiri a thousand years ago, none of this would have happened.

From what others have said, Nahiri encases Sorin in stone.

Just a curiosity on the story here - perhaps this is the wrong place. It seemed that Arlinn thought that she and her werewolves were going to be the last stand against the threat on the plane based on the first EMN Magic Story. Was she just wrong or did they decide to change that?

Kessig Prowler's flavor text suggests only some werewolves were corrupted by Emrakul.
