If the vampire one has white in it, which it should if it's going to play nice with BFZ and Ixalan block vampires or going to be soldiers or knights, and if the last one is clerics, which should definitely contain white, then all four decks have white.

Ifyou go to the grand prix vegas website and scroll down some of the packages say "original art by mark poole," so not a masterpiece or anything and IF they reprinted it, it wouldn't be with original artwork, most likely.

Im assuming all lands that produce 1 or 2 and so forth, will be errated to produce <> or <><>. But that really is not necessary... though that would make cards that require <> mana a bit parasitic.

That's a large errata. The parasitic part is what I'm afraid of, but at this point what I expect.

And even then, why not just have Mirrorpool tap to add 1, rather than <>? It would achieve the same thing.
Don't think we'll truly know the answer until the WotC rules lawyers weigh in, but having it play like colourless Snow mana makes a lot more sense in my mind.

The fact that Mirrorpool doesn't just add 1 is what makes me sad.

So if the <> symbol meant this may only be paid with colorless mana as people have speculated on Kozilek, then there would be no need to put it on a land, because add 1 to your mana pool would already satisfy that, yes? The only other option is that it's a sixth color.

Nope. Hop into the other thread and look at Wastes.
It will mean this may only be paid with mana from a Wastes basic land (in the same manner than Snow can only be paid with mana from a snow-covered basic land).

Snow mana was provided by the snow supertype. Wastes has no such thing. Snow lands also tapped for mana of their land type, so could be used as regular mana of the same color. If there is a mana symbol that can be only paid for with mana from Wastes and mana from Wastes can't be used on anything except <> and colorless, that is a sixth color of mana, isn't it?

Does this guy neuter Sigil Captain in Ghave?

    Or just replaces? :-D

That's why I ask. Will they complement each other, or will I replace the Captain with this Thrinax?

Does anyone know how to get a hold of customer support? When I go to help it sends me to the customer service website. That site requires me to log in just to email you guys, but I can't remember my password. I go through the steps to have my password reset or sent to me or whatever, but it says to check my email and I'm not receiving any email. I try to register for a new account and it says my email is already on file, which means it has the right email address for me. Yes, I've checked my spam folder. They're not in there.

I'm having multiple problems. My daily quests on Duels Origins are not being achieved even though I'm meeting the requirements threefold. I also didn't get a new one today or the option to refresh the old one. And I've not gotten the gold reward for winning my last two versus battles. Please help.

Sunscorch Regent also has the Dragonfury label.

Edit: Nevermind, the article says that is incorrect. Wonder what this card is about then.

Anyone figure out where this alternate art Sunscorch Regent is going to show up?

  • posted a message on Control, layering, and continuous effects
Hi all. I have a simple question, but I'm looking for a very thorough answer. I'm working on becoming a judge and I've looked through the comp rules (613) and I need someone to clarify for me.

If a dragon I own is enchanted by a Mind Control under my opponent's control when I cast Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund I believe I'll control the creature, but Mind Control will still enchant it and be under its owner's control. Am I right or wrong and please point me to the correct rules that covers this scenario. I think both control-changing effects are continuous effects without durations, so they're applied in time stamp order. But it looks strange for me to control my own creature with an opponent's Mind Control still enchanting it.

  • posted a message on Dragons of Tarkir Duel Commander and EDH Banlists/Rules Updates: NO MORE TUCKING
This is a great ruling. My playgroup already had a house rule disallowing the tucking of commanders. It makes no sense to have a format that revolves around commanders and then allow things that make it so a player never gets to play their commander. Tuck is super unfun in commander and people who like to play super unfun things never like when those things are removed to keep more fun in the game. There are still plenty of ways to deal with commanders, and in all colors. If one particular commander is a problem, every deck has access to pithing needle and phyrexian revoker, and those are just off the top of my head. Those are unfun cards when naming commanders, but people who like to play unfun cards still have options. Also, spell crumple is now only as good as cancel against commanders? Yes, so? It's also the same cost as cancel. All your tuck cards are useless now? No, they're still great at dealing with graveyard recursion and other shenanigans.

Wanted to give this a bump to see if I could get any more feedback.

Also thinking of making a variation for the new elder dragons, but there are only five to chose from, so I don't know. Maybe with more dragony rules, like a minimum dragon count in the deck.

Was also thinking of maybe changing both of these to be similar to tiny leaders; 50 card highlander-like.

    Thoughts?
