Exactly. But 5 mana wraths without significant additional upside are not overpowered, so being able to cast your playable but not exciting card shouldn't be a power-level issue.

It could be 4W in lots of formats. A format with fetchable duals? You need to be extremely careful with mana costs to avoid every deck splashing a W/X dual for a wrath. A wrath they might not have access to otherwise.

This isn't just doom blade, its also got serious utility in the late game with the awaken. This is just too good of a 1st pick to be uncommon.

beyond disappoint that they let her terrible art into this set. Would have loved to see alt art on so many other angels by more talented artists that wizards has taken on since dropping her =/

Wizards hasn't dropped her, She dropped Wizards. She makes too much real money off of commisions and selling her art nowadays that the WOTC money wasn't worth the time.

Perfect time to put this art on a playable magic card.

    From the Lorwyn FAQ

" If a creature with champion leaves play before its comes-into-play ability resolves, its leaves-play ability will do nothing. Then its comes-into-play ability will resolve. Its controller may remove a permanent of the appropriate quality he or she controls from the game. If the player does, that card won't come back. If the player doesn't, nothing happens (because the creature with champion isn't around to be sacrificed."

Because the champion trigger forces you to ether champion or sacrifice the creature with champion, you can just choose to not champion anything as to not exile your own creature.

We'll see seeded packs again, i'm sure of it. Seeded packs for factions just will not make sense in BFZ due to the Color vs Lack of Color theme the set is sure to employ. I just hope when they do return, they are more like Origin's seeded packs, i.e. an extra pack not in place of a normal booster.

I 4-0-1'd with Boros aggro. Bombs were Kytheon's Irregulars and Knightly Valor Almost every creature card in my deck had renown. Topan Freeblade and Ampryn Tectician were 2 ofs and were insane at common. I only lost one game where i flooded to 11 lands after a mull to 5 against a sweet B/G elfs and removal deck. Enshrouding Mist was also surprisingly great, it almost always was a complete blow out when cast.

    "Wah wah"
Weaboo isint even an insult lol.
If you take it as such, then you need to check your prioritys.

Thank god that IF we do go back its only for 2 sets, 2 sets i will sit out of. As will many others. A risk wizards wont want to take. But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night guys.

Weeaboo is a common pejorative for Japanophiles

pejorative: A pejorative (also called a derogatory term,[1] derogative term, a term of abuse, or a term of disparagement) is a word or grammatical form expressing a low opinion of someone or something, or showing a lack of respect for someone or something.[2] It is also used as a criticism, hostility, disregard and/or disrespect.

Check your own priorities. Or just check your facts.

This is pretty damn good in limited already. Assume your opponent is on the play, and you play this turn 3.
It's a must answer 10-15 turn clock in a core set alone. It's also not a creature, so it is impossible to answer outside white and green. All the set needs is some good blue defensive creautures and I'm sure lots of other cards will have draw a card on it, which just speeds this up.

Prepare yourself to be convinced then. He's going to be a lot like punk was, completely under-rated for his looks and style, but when the mic is in his hands and the bell has rung, he'll earn the respect he deserves.

  • posted a message on Choosing Modes on a card, and when they happen
Cards always resolve in the printed order, even with cards with modes. You will sacrifice the Whip and then your creatures will fight. The easy way to identify if a card's resolution is going to matter is if the card has a period between effects.

Its a packing error most likely.

Variance on this set is high. 2 Foil Kiki-Jiki pulled in the 3 boxes opened for drafts last night. Zero other foil rares.

If feel like i'd rather spend 2-3x as much on a box of Rise/NPH/Lor-Mor for drafting than spend 250 on a box to draft this. MM1 was perfect except for the size of the print run. This is the complete opposite of MM1.

What kills me the most is the lack limited good green rares. All Sun's Dawn seems highly unplayable, the rest is just chaff that shouldn't be rare. Noble Excluded. MM1 had awesome bomb Dollar bin rares for limited, this has none of that. Azusa? Would be sweet in the eldrazi/5 color ramp strat. Scapeshift? Best mana fixing for 5 color. I want my rares to be Archetype bombs, not just plain bombs. That's what makes a great limited format and what stems the hurt feeling from opening 2 dollar rares. I want my bulk rares to help me win the draft and make my draft a deck. I don't want my rares to just be hur/dur/cast/win.

U/B could be merfolk, with a heavy emphasis on U.

W/G seems like Aura's/Totem Armor. With Slippery Boggle at uncommon.

It's simply too expensive to attract new players and stunts like Modern Masters are actually making it more expensive by driving interest way beyond what it affords in additional cards in circulation.

I have no clue what you want. You want modern to thrive, but you hate that Wizards is making sets to help newer players get into the format. I'd sure wish these kids would get off my damned modern lawn and stop making cards expensive. BTW, i hope every card i open is worth MSRP.
