Right before the attacker deals damage Gisela's second ability(the one that halves) will trigger to the stack. If you cast Reflect Damage before it resolves Reflect Damage will resolve and attempt to do 1o damage. The Gisela's first ability(double damage) will trigger. Upon resolution Reflect Damage does 20 points of damage. The other ability resolves but fizzles.
Bonfire of the Damned won me two games by itself, even after I mis-drew them both.(First and last games of the night) I was doing pretty well at watching my draws other than that, but at 4:30a.m. it was kind of tough. Interested to see how effective Miracle will be in Constructed.
I used to think walls could block any number of creatures. Oh and creatures like BoP or Llanowar Elves could use their abilities when they came into play. Also banding and bands hurt my head.
I agree that new artwork gives the set flavor and adds to the storyline. It would be nice to get an extra common instead of land in boosters but no big deal. If I remember correctly, Alpha-Revised had land as random commons in boosters. Sometimes you would get two or three in one pack. Yuck.
I had no idea so many people feel so strongly about using sleeves. I mean for a tournament sure it's a must, but really? I have been playing since Revised and never sleeved a deck once. The only cards I own that are beat up I obtained in that condition. Clean table and hands are the only way to play. I have shuffled A LOT of cards in my day and think it's so much easier to shuffle just the cards than the sleeves.
I'm obviously in the vast minority here. In fact, the opinions the community have presented here have made me decide to give sleeves a chance. I wonder if in a week I'll be wondering what was wrong with me all of these years?
This has to be the greatest prank ever pulled. InQuest printed an article about 13 years ago stating that purple was going to become a sixth color. People have believed it ever since. It was a JOKE. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go find the thread talking about Force of Will being reprinted.
I think they've done alright with the whole mythic thing. The cards they choose are supposed to "feel" mythic. It sucks that some of the best cards ever printed have to be mythic.(At least printed recently)
But I think that's really the issue with sky high prices. These cards, Jace, BSA, Elspeth, etc. are some of the best cards ever printed. They would be a few dollars cheaper if they weren't mythic, but not much. They are really powerful and everyone wants them, so the secondary market takes advantage of that.
I have been using Troll and Toad for almost 15 years. I have ordered from them 65 times and had very few problems.(i.e. an item would be mistakenly represented as in stock when they were out) I've had to call them a couple of times and they were very helpful and knowledgeable. I rarely buy cards from anywhere else. The website is visually appealing and easy to use. My one beef (it's been mentioned already) is that commons cost AT LEAST .49 each and uncommons cost AT LEAST .59 each. These are often .10 cards elsewhere.
As far as having vendors fill certain products goes, that is completely normal. That's the way many companies do business. You buy their product and their people fill it. It's the only way some vendors will do business with anybody.
Kamahl, Pit Fighter would not like splits. "I didn't come to play. I came to win." I like the civility of splitting when it's mutually beneficial, but as a competitor I won't do it.
How many times have I heard someone say "Spalsh some white for PtE" recently? Or something similar. It's great to have options when deck building, but splashing a color for one card seems a little too easy. Good mana fixing can make the game more fun but I agree it's been a little too good for a while. For every color you add, the mana base should become more unreliable. That's hardly the case at all. Of course, with vivids gone, I don't think there's anything wrong how things are per se.
I've been playing since Revised, and I have to say that this is the most excited I've ever been for a core set. I feel that they've captured the fantasy feel that made me enjoy the game so much when I first started. Of course it's not perfect, but no set ever will be. Keep up the good work, Wizards!

At the end of combat, destroy all non wall creatures blocking or blocked by(this creature)
It's a little messier, but something like it could work.
