This. A box containing a list of all the cards ever released appears on your screen, and using the scroll bar on the box you scroll down until you find your card.

It's in Alphabetical Order of course.

No not "this." the two people before you just explained how easy it is to just type in "g-a-r-r-u-k" and it goes right to what you want to pith.

  • posted a message on Full art lands in draft?
Ive played zen-wwk draft against someone and their lands were all m10. I asked if he switched them himself (seemed like a weird thing to do) , and he said that he was drafting both formats at the same time and it was a glitch. So maybe there are other ways for lands to swap out too.

I worry for you legacy players that got your way. I think things will play out like this-- P9 will come to mtgo, cards will be valuable but players will buy them in order to have the chance to play touneys in the more expensive formats. Paper t1 suffer.

, always guaranteeing a discard. Is there an instant discarding card?

    Only Esper Charm.

So this will go Quest turn one and Duress t2? The problem with building a deck like this is turn 3. What do you do? You want your Megrim out for your Ritualist followed by a Sludge, but you are probably going to have to kick a Gatekeeper instead-- you can't just leave a Sprouting Thrinax or a Knight of the Reliquary unanswered because your opponent is going to lay down creatures at a regular pace and you will never catch back up.

I think those gold-bordered cards can only be used in the Planeswalker format.

You want to do block constructed tournaments it sounds like. You will not be able to get cards for a block deck from free sources. Figure out what deck you will start with and price it out on the web.

But I have like no idea how to get started in MTGO, how to get the cards I need/want, not much for collecting in MTGO, just would like more people to test out decks with and see if I can manage improving them or what not.. I dunno.

To get started you would just buy the game. It is $10, but you get some free stuff. To get the cards you need/want, you would buy them from people, trade with people, rip packs, or try to draft them-- just like in real life. As for collecting, I don't know how you would build decks without collecting the cards, so I am not sure how to answer. You will have no problem testing decks on mtgo. You can build, test, and tweak a single deck 100 times in a Saturday if you want.

Oh man, I opened mine last night. Slant

In all seriousness, if you are planning on drafting, buying cards regularly, shifting your mtg play to mtgo-- just reroll your account now. Call it a $3 mistake and trade your 2 tix, pack and free cards over to a new account.

In your collection tab you should have the free lands and black bordered cards that you got free when you signed up. Make a 60 card deck out of them and save it. Have like 24 lands and 36 other cards or so. Make your way to the casual "play" room and check out the decks everyone is running. Learn the cards, pick up some tickets from the store, make them tradeable, and trade them with humans or bots in exchange for cards that you like. Add these to your deck. Repeat. As for deck suggestions, there are thousands of posts on this forum about developing, testing, and brainstorming winning standard decks. Check these out and compare them in your head to what you have seen in the casual room.

Why the heck do they make this so hard?

But to put it in perspective, you ARE trying to purchase goods/services from a foreign company-- without even owning a credit card. If you think about this another way, you are pretty darn lucky that technology allows you to buy a foreign "boutique" product, and all you need to do is load $100 onto your PayPal account. Sure, you lose a small percentage of your cash to the initial transaction fee, but in the end your playset of Woolly Thoctors are going to cost, what, USD 1.25 instead of a buck? Sounds pretty minor to me; if I just couldn't live without imported Canadian action figures or something, I would just figure this extra percentage into the cost of the hobby.

I came into a stack of them for about $1.25 each, and I would value them about that. You get a fullframe basic in each one, and my rares/mythics/foil pulls were really only slightly worse than if I had opened regular boosters.
