throwing down a chains of mephistopheles, then using a wheel of fortune with a good dredger in hand seems great. dredging 35 cards with imp and 42 with troll while your opponent discards their hand and mills 7 sounds good.
Kresh. End of story. He has plenty of ramp options, plenty of ways to kill things (which he loves to have hapoen anyways), and can pull off some pretty epic stuff. He is green for the ramp, black for the best tutoring (and coffers/urborg for a giant genesis wave), and has the best colors for doing some pretty epic things. If you want a multiplayer general, go with him.
Im quite surprised nobody has mentioned a RUG control shell as a 1 or 2 of with tamiyo. I mean ult her then slap him down, if you have a land in hand its an instant win...
Big game. Dont remember everybody but I know I was playing kresh, and there was a rhys the redeemed player, I have kresh out while the rhys players get an anthem, earthcraft, and squrriels nest out and proceeds to make 9001 squrriels. Hilarity ensures when the guy before me does an austere command, choosing enchantments, and all cmc 3 or less...and nobody remembers that kresh is out. Hilarity ensues on my next turn and I swing with kresh, to get asked how big it is, to reply with remember those squrriels that just got wrathed?
In response to the dredge setup. Library, chains of mephistophles, and any dredger is disgusting. One dredge card is effectively tripled with this output...
I dont know if its been mentioned in here but if youre running the necrotic ooze, morselhoarder, devoted druid combo, I think the best wincon then to use is orzhov guildmage. Just net as much mana as needed, gain a bunch of life, then make everybody lose life to win. I do it in my modern dredge and its unstoppable.
Im sorry megatog, but wrath and kill effects are the reason I run black mikaeus and no humans. Plus im runnin bgw so I can have unburial rights. Heartless and pod both habe the same problems, both get a little worse when the namesake is destroyed and your creatures get killed. The only difference between the two is dvery card in my build is a threat, and getting rid of heartless makes my field better, unlike pod.
I do have a bgw list sitting at my house that I havent had the chance to test with yet, but if anybody is interested I can post it on here and see from there how it goes.
Ive been running something similar to this for close to a year now, and it works fairly well. I had my deck built to run as a heartless/rites deck. I would try fitting in mulches, rites, lilianas, and maybe some salvages to help. The way ive had mine set up has workedwell as a dwck that can function two ways, so if I dont get one plan ive got a backup built into it.
By the way sorry for the slow response to your list. Ive been busy most of the day. When I get the chance ill post what I have been playing and how im planning for it pist rotation.
In my opinion splashing green for ramp would be your best bet. running T2 farseek into a T3 rangers path into either a T4 experiment for 5 or a boundless realms then T5 experiment for 12...kinda nut draw it seems but it can work...
i have been playing a heartless junk variant in standard for the past few months, my backup plan if i didnt get heartless was a reanimator and a pod variation built into it. the engine for my deck was primarily three heartless, four mulch, three lili of the veil, threee rites, and three pods. it has been pretty consistant of any of the three plans that show up, plus the multiple ideas all meshed well with each other.
Habve you thought of twilight's call also? Its a secondary living end that doesnt board wipe...and can be cast at instant speed. Ive used both, and it helps make kresh tremendously big...
Needed: Side 1 Helm of Awakening, 1 Grapeshot. Side in 1 Helm of Awakening (NLS plays Wishes)
Post Doomsday: 4U, draw spell is Sensei's Diving Top
//Top
Meditate
Sensei's Divining Top
Helm of Awakening
Lion's Eye Diamond
Burning Wish
//Bottom
Note, we cut Helm and Grapeshot because nobody plays ☺☺☺☺ty life decks. If these are in your metagame, 1 Helm + 1 Grapeshot in the sideboard gives you free match wins. This pile is notable for completely ignore Gaddock Teeg, and a variation of it using Brainstorm ignores Ethersworn Canonist as a pass the turn pile.
Rev Silence = Reverent Silence, a common sideboard card in NLS lists splashing green (usually for this card + KGrip and/or Xantid Swarm)
Would it be possible for you to make an example list or link to a thread involving NLS?
