Except these are not traditional alters. The "artist" takes an established MTG IP then sexies it up (in some cases quite a bit), then makes it the size of a card and prints it on to a sticker. The sticker is then placed on an existing copy of the card. He can print off as many as he pleases and sells them on ebay.
Traditional alters are unique works of art in an of themselves where an owned card is added to, these are far from that. The sad thing is that several others are aping this model and are selling the same type of product. This one is sleazy as hell, but at least it is not mimicking the original art so blatantly. EDIT: I take it back, they are awfull and I hope they get the same letter that the other guy did.
You know, I can understand why people want that. Its not for me and I think its creepy as hell, but I understand.
But then I saw that Jace. That ill never understand.
More obnoxious Android ads.
I tried to come to this very thread and a couple seconds in I got redirected to:

Im on a Samsung GS3 (if thats relevant) and ive been getting ads for a game called Candy Crush that sends me a pop up notification to download their game when it loads up. Very not cool.
I have no idea how to get any url or anything on my phone though.
The problem with mana burn (and similarly with damage on the stack) is that its so damn unintuitive. Often a new players first encounter with it is when a more expierenced player uses it against them. Its not fun and can even feel like they're making up rules.
Ive never had a new player ask me what happens when they don't spend mana because now it makes sense. It just goes to waste. And wasting mana is a bigger punishment than taking damage anyway.
The problem isn't unique to Magic at all. Sexism is very ingrained into the whole of gaming culture, and Magic is actually a lot better than Video Games, but there's still a problem.
Yeah, sexy art isn't keeping women down in the workplace or anything like that, but our art reflects who we are as a society, and god damnnit it depresses me so much that our society is so sexist.
Honestly, I don't really feel the need to argue this on MTG Salvation. I would really, really like to change your mind on this, but I know that is never going to happen. Please, take the time and think about how we choose to depict women in our art and particularly in fantasy art. Please. It's important to think about these things.
But I'm done. I don't need to spend my Saturday night arguing with people on the internet.
All cards from dragon's maze that depict females that are not "sexed, male fantasy objects." Card art like Auriok Champion bothers me too sometimes but on the whole I don't think magic art has a problem with sexism.
My bad, I guess sexism is over. Not every women is a ridiculous fanasy guys, so its perfectly okay that most are.
And its attitudes like yours that allows sexism to run rampant in fantasy art
Just curious, if Wizards started depecting black people in a 1950s stereotypical way, would you defend their "artistic right" to racism?
So why do we let them depecit (almost) every female as a sexed, male fantasy object?
On the whole, I would say that Magic and its community are sexist. Im pretty sure its not the lack of pregancy depection thats the problem and more the fact that 99% of all females are just sex objects.
I actually like the redesign. Im tired of the vaguely insectoid/reptiallian design that seems to plague every hive mind in fiction thanks to zergs and tyranids.
Found out my LGS is not selling any boxes of MM. Instead, they're doing drafs with it for ~$20. My current and only plan to get any of this set is just going there and drafting whatever I want out of the packs for my collection, then dropping and leaving. I am so upset that I'm apparently just not going to be able to find preorders for this
I have zero desire to play limited. Negative desire, even. I just want to be able to buy this for somewhere between 1.0x to 1.5x MSRP and I'll be happy.
Please don't do this.
Just buy the packs online if you don't want to draft. Everyone else at the table wants to draft and play Limited, so if you're just sitting there picking random things you want and then leaving, you're just going to ruin the draft for everyone else.
You know, I can understand why people want that. Its not for me and I think its creepy as hell, but I understand.

Aren't we complaining about Miracles, or Legendaries or Tarmogoyf or something else now?

So just like every bird is actually a Dinosaur, these guys are still Slivers.

Its nice to see something new.
Wait, wrong fandom
