I would like to clarify so Emrakul can be targetted by o-rings ?
(what is the best explanation I can give my opponent why isnt O-ring a spell and its a triggered ability and its 2 phased)
2)OK, so O-ring is a white ability. let's say i have a blinding mage already in play, (which I think is not a spell but is a permanent already correct me if im wrong) Can the blinding mage tap the emrakul before combat phase so as not to let it attack?
3) It says "When you cast Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, destroy target permanent." So it still a spell upon casting it. Can it be swerve and I can change and choose its target?
Is this correct?
thanks.
1) o-ring's ability is an ability activated after the card enters play, which allows it to hit emrakul, whose ability only is protection from coloured spells, not abilities. someone will give something more in depth, don't you worry.
your sources are trumped. i would've posted a rumour thread about a week or two before this thread started after reading something interesting off of the distributor site while at a local store (i was trying to get a custom order, he found "Mox Opal sleeves" as opposed to the limited edition thing), but feared it getting locked due to lack of evidence, especially with my being awake for too long that day and writing as terribly as i do sometimes. it's a confirmed name at the distributor level, i think it's legit for all purposes. coming out this set? assumptively, especially given that i see the name now, AND it's confirmed by others.
in other news, Mox Opal sleeves. i'm very interested in sinking my teeth into these.
this has been known for a long time, brah. there are general trends, and the artifact block is what we've been waiting for since it was delayed a little (SoM is the artifact block). also, this seems overly irrelevant to this thread.
the phyrexian symbols should be the one seen in the phyrexia vs. coalition arcana, where as the mirrodin symbol... i unno.
I think we're all missing the point; purple doesn't necessarily have to be a part of the colour wheel, but instead can just be an abstraction, much like 'snow mana'. I mean, if we look at it like colourless, but with a colour, we automatically assume things like the Shards coloured artifacts. But what if we took it to be that there HAS to be a coloured payment, not a colourless payment? This negates a lot of the mana acceleration in older formats, and even some standard mana acceleration (City of Traitors, Mishra's Workshop, Ancient Tomb, etc), which means it restricts the usage of the cards.
The major issue with this is giving certain colours cards they shouldn't have access to, which then brings us to more extensive hybrid cards (three or more colours per mana symbol), which are yet to be seen.
In the end? I would hope WotC wouldn't stoop this low, however, I'm still scared it may happen one day.
EDIT: To the people saying they'll quit, or how drastic a change it is, just think of it as snow mana; there will be all one block to worry about, so shut yer traps and get over it. I would highly doubt if WotC implemented it, that it would be a recurring theme or idea. Maybe a new card every like eight sets.
You've GOT to make it stupid, especially as a prerelease card, and to be able to combat against Walletslayer, which would mean we get something like this:
Greater Sphinx of the Lost Winds .. 2UUU
Legendary Creature - Avatar Sphinx .. Mythic Rare
Flash, flying, shroud.
When ~ enters the battlefield, tap all creatures your opponents control.
When ~ enters the battlefield, counter target spell.
4/2
This is ONLY reasonable on those grounds.
It's a prerelease card, expect it to be alright, but not too good... wouldn't want to see a STAPLE being printed, AND/OR released as a prerelease card.
orb of dreams has a replacement effect that replaces "enter the battlefield" with "enter the battlefield tapped". this will make all permanents enter the battlefield tapped.
amulet of vigor has a triggered ability. if an ability enters the battlefield tapped, then its ability triggers and goes on the stack. it will untap that permanent when the ability resolves.
Orb of Dreams causes all permanents to enter the battlefield tapped, then Amulet of Vigor's ability will trigger and untap them. The important thing to note is that Amulet does NOT cause them to enter the field untapped. It untaps them after they enter.
i'm aware, as it stacks, thus allowing you to tap for n*x mana, where n is the number of amulets in play, and x is the mana produced by said permanent. EDIT2:: since it's a triggered ability...
Assuming both cards are in play, the way that I understand this is that when a card enters play under your control, regardless of whatever state it enters play beforehand (tapped/untapped), it will come into play under your control untapped because of the AoV's effect, which theoretically kind of 'negates' the OoD's effect (I'm aware it doesn't, but still).
Given the cycle of good, newer moxen, I'm thinking it could be along the lines of card types with respect to a given colour. White could be RFG enchantment, blue could be RFG instant, etc etc., given that it only produces the one colour mentioned by the card, and not any colour you wish it to. It could also be producing two mana, but at a higher cost. However, we would truly have to see mechanics in SoM in order to actually confirm or disprove any of this...
Thoughts: Only produces one colour, you have to RFG the card.
To add on: I would say let a thread like this live if Mox is in a confirmed card name in SoM. I'm pretty sure you can lock this thread without worry as it stands.
So you're saying that we reduce the number of cards in draft to 12, reducing the amount of playables per colour slice at your table? Hell's to the nah! If this were to happen, then it means stronger cards all around, which WotC isn't entitled to do; in fact, I'm pretty sure their goal is to make sure they have a quota filled for absolutely terrible cards in newer sets, meaning that 12 playable cards per pack =/= likely.
As for the rest, I enjoyed the read through. There needs to be a moxen like print in SoM, or even the core sets, and I'm pretty sure that this would spark a better standard scenario. Once Shards rotates out, I feel that the environment will screech a little in speed, seeing that people will probably rush to the idea of "EMRAKUL, I WIN LULZ!" This will be a sad standard, I feel.
M11? I'm hoping that it's like M10, only a good card for every colour, not just Baneslayer. Possibly new, interesting cards as opposed to functional reprints, or FR's of interesting old cards, and possibly new lands, or a proper set of lands for every colour.

2) yes, see above.
3) not sure.

died a little inside D;
POOR GOLEM!
D:
in all seriousness, because of the mention of elves, i want to see an "artifact creature - elf" printed.

VERY odd...
b) Possibly reprints, else a completely different set of cards, if anything.
awesome, thanks. this clears up quite a bit.
EDIT::

Anyone care to help me out here?

usually a local store gets their paws on them, and you buy these off of them. i'm prolly picking up one or two.
