I'm trying to decide if I should replace Boomerang with Brazen Borrower. I would lose the ability to bounce lands but would gain an alt win condition with the faeries if I needed it. They're both UU so it wouldn't change Sanity Grinding's effectiveness but playing the faerie itself would clog the 3-drop spot. It also wouldn't be able to block.
Thoughts? Is it worth it? Deck below for reference.
Quick question. Why don't any lists run Seal of Fire? Having an Enchantment just gives us easier access to Delirium, and it seems near functionally identical to Tarfire.
Hoping y'all can help me with sideboarding. I'm pretty terrible at it. What are some good cards for specific matchups? What are must haves against our worst matchups? I always seem to struggle games 2 and 3 because of this.
Here's my deck as of right now. Ive tried to diversify my sideboard but not really sure how to use it properly I guess. Any help would be appreciated.
I feel like a giant table is of limited utility compared to manabasecrafter.com
Not everyone has internet access all the time. Plus I find it easier seeing the lands for a particular color all in one place rather than using a cumbersome interface like the one you linked.
I could always add mana rocks to the list if you think it'd be helpful.
The land reference has been updated up to Ultimate Masters.
Changes:
-Links have been updated.
-Lands grouped by format.
-Additional lands for Legacy and Commander are on the second page.
-Man Land abilities added.
-Tapped (ETBT) added to appropriate land cycle descriptions.
New to the list:
Standard legal lands are now highlighted. These will be updated for future rotations.
Also, something non-related, I like that Radiant Flames can hit for 4 against Thalia decks. It’s fringe but cool, and I bet it’s clutch when it happens.
I do not believe you can overspend for Converge. 3 is the most damage you can do, unfortunately.
EDIT: NVM, just realized the Thalia tax...making it 4. Carry on.
I like the flexibility of Astro. I was thinking it would be better to cut creature removal since it can double as that, or discard bacause it's a worse topdeck draw.
What does the rest of your main deck look like that those are your only two options? I've generally swapped between 1 Ghor-clan Rampager and 1 Grim Flayer, based on if I want to race harder or have higher threat density.
Humans and Spirits are definitely easier to gain percentage points against than BGx, but it's still pretty rough. I think Reflector Mage is probably the single most annoying card in this respect, but the whole package (of both decks) contains lots of annoying elements. But these matchups are still the best place to look to try to bust Shadow wide open, IMO. It probably involves keeping Ghor-Clan Rampager around.
What is best to bring in against Humans and Spirits?
