I'm back but jetlagged. Maginon is updated and Kardia update is about 3/8 done and coming some time tonight after the most satisfying nap of my life.

For at least a few days, I'm back in my normal life routine that includes daily updating.

    RAKS

You acquire a pet! Cormora on your shoulder, you head back out toward the city center and find a Job Terminal, which displays:

"One. Assist in new automated defense system for Cobo. Report to Swerth Boren in Cobo.
Two. Bounty on pirate named Deravi; Last seen in Wellyan Asteroid Cluster."

    NUMOKA
You take to the skies and have your navigator plot a course as far as it can in the cloud database. This takes you from Orion Hub >> Korbuska >> Katraxi Nebula >> Urpion >> Wreck of the Nova. (+{1(G/U)R)

    NAVIGATOR:
Wreck of the Nova (Formation) == Borders: Iri’leth (Planet, Spaceport: Komanion), Urpion (Planet)

Wreck of the Nova: The floating wreckage of a once great battlestation that was destroyed a long time ago. It has mostly been picked apart by looters but some of the most interior portions remain untouched. The docking mechanisms are long broken, making boarding difficult without a docking bay of your own.

You are setting your navigator and course for the last leg of the voyage when suddenly your controls seem to be… out of control. They veer off to the side. "Oooh, look at that! What's that?" Carliah says. It would seem she's this kind of trouble, as she telepathically drives your ship toward an object floating in the distance. This object turns out to be a looting ship which doesn't like being seen. You are attacked by:

    Xavi Looting Scouter 1
    Artifact Creature - Ship
    1/2

You have your three spell combat queue. OR, you can run by casting an OOC spell against a 13 difficulty check that takes control of your ship back from Carliah.

    NEKTON SAS

    CARD EVAL
Card: I assume this is rare. Given that, I'm inclined to say it's still pretty good. The card is already kind of strong even without the creature toughness boost. I'm also not sure where that flavorfully fits into the card. 7/10

    ITON

OOC: I have to speed things along sometimes, especially when I'm out of town.
    CARD EVAL
Card: This seems pretty powerful for its ability to get back artifact creatures, and then it has a lot of versatility lopped on top, as well. At rare it might make sense but it would be an unexciting pick there. Also while the flavor text goes well with the mechanics, the name doesn't quite fit the last mode. 7.5/10
Flavor: As with the ship repair, mechanics like this work fine. 8/10

Beep Bip Boop! A little tinkering goes a long way and the repair droid is back online and repairing the rest of its broken comrades. "Oh thank you very much, sir. We'd take you on full time, if we could afford any staff at all. But here, I can obviously spare a one-time reward, for your services." (+1500 Credits)

    You continue later...

    YRJANA

You fly to Orion Hub (+2) but it's too late. When you get to the biosphere, you see them already dissecting the corpse of the Baligomm and the shapeshifter is nowhere in sight, at least not in a form you recognize. You tell the scientists what happened and, perhaps out of pity more than scientific necessity, they give you another bioretrieval mission. "There's another species we haven't been able to study yet, from Korbuska. It's called a Octuskon and it lives in the bogs. Here." They show you a holo-image of what it looks like: basically an oozy octopus. "We don't need it alive. Just bring the body and we'll have… let's see… 1500 credits? That seems fair."

Leaving the biosphere, you ask if anyone has seen someone of Mirik's description, but alas you fail to find a lead. Perchance your paths will happen to cross again someday…

    NAVIGATOR:
ORION HUB (Station) == Borders: Korbuska (Planet, Spaceport: Robuskall), Virn (Planet, Spaceport: Cobo)

    MIRIK

You celebrate your success with a small shopping spree before setting course and flying to the Katraxi Nebula to meet Plorrick. (+(U/R)(U/R)

    NAVIGATOR:
Katraxi Nebula (Formation) == Borders: Korbuska (Planet, Spaceport: Robuskall), Urpion (Planet)

Katraxi Nebula: A beautiful starscape of reds and blues, named after Katrax, an ancient war god.

"This is Plorrick, are you here to help?" you hear over the comm. Looking behind you, you see he has found you at the rendezvous spot. "Excellent. You seem capable. I was hoping for someone with maybe a bigger ship, but this will do.

"We have you surrounded! Do not attempt to escape!" Your radar shows three more ships now. "Plorrick Pontain and… accomplice. Please stay put. A starship will arrive shortly to dock you for questioning." These Quaran Republic Ships seem to have a pre-existing problem with Plorrick.

"You know how they said we shouldn't try to escape? Let's try to escape!" Plorrick activates a sophisticated stealth cloak, taking him off your radar and the radar of the republic. You assume he's making his way toward the Nova.

CHALLENGE: Escape with Plorrick to the Wreck of the Nova
    Difficulty: 16

    EIGLEM and KEESH

You both take the turn to observe the oddity. You notice no movement, but also no inscriptions or markings. It bears an exact likeness to some strange alien species you've never heard of, save for the fact that it seems distinctly not alive. It is so lifelike, though, that you can only assume it was once alive, and may even be alive now under a thin but effective casing.

    MAETA RABE and ITON

You converse before parting ways, then part ways.

OOC: You should each fly separately but, you know, together in formation and whatnot.

Maeta Rabe finishes his discussion with the Phintane and goes to the cantina to rendezvous with Iton. Iton (presumably, but not necessarily) heads there after having completed his work at the Droid Stall.

    YRJANA 1919 VS. MIRIK

Hoo boy, how to resolve this. First Yrjana's evaporation spell would need to happen, but then Mirik correctly deduced/learned that it can't be transported alive without the proper misc tech items for the ship. Let's see what I end up doing:

    Retrodifficulty: 16
    CARD EVAL (Evaporate Ground)
Card: This seems simple enough. The flavor text is perhaps a bit too long for a card but the flavor of the card itself is easy enough to infer. Tragically I'm not sure this would be printed at common these days, but I think common is correct. 8/10
Flavor: I put him in a hole the ship can't reach so you have to disembark and walk, and you just up and evaporate the whole hole. Points for creativity. 8.5/10
    Score: 16.5
    SUCCESS (Mana Spent)
    EXP Gained: 8
Reset XP to 3/30 and choose one of the two below:
    Yrjänä-1919 (B/W)(B/W)
    Creature - Human Ambassador
Whenever an opponent cast a spell, if it isn't the first spell that player cast this turn, Yrjana gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
    2/2

    OR

    Yrjänä-1919 (B/W)(B/W)
    Creature - Human Ambassador
Spells you cast with multiple targets cost you 1 less to cast.
    1/2

The ground begins to shift. Let's see if Mirik escapes its effect:

    Retrodifficulty: 16
    CARD EVAL (Jets)
Card: I think this is a good card but I suspect it might still need to have an equip cost of 1. In a format that includes a pro-from-artifacts card, there are probably enough artifacts to make it more expensive like that. But I think it's a fun card with good flavor and that's really my only complaint. 9/10
    Flavor: Spacey and sensible. 9/10
    Score: 18
    SUCCESS (Mana Spent)
    EXP Gained: 4
Reset EXP to 0/30 and choose one:

    Mirik 1(B/G)

    Changeling
    2/2

    Mirik 1(B/G)
    Creature - Vazal Rogue
    Changeling
1(B/G): Mirik gains target creature's activated abilities until end of turn.
    1/1

Mirik escapes the evaporation "blast radius."
OOC: I'm conflicted on what to do here. On the one hand, Yrjana shouldn't be able to transport the thing alive anyway. On the other, I really want to have your scores compete against each other. I will say, though, that the Toxic Ooze spell isn't being counted because it's unnecessary and wouldn't have been cast regardless of this "competition."

    CARD EVAL (Controlled Detainment)
Card: It's pacifism that can also sometimes be removal. I'm not sure it's actually that powerful though it's fun in multiplayer when you can have an opponent attack another opponent. It's common, so it doesn't have to be amazing, but I think you could lop one off the cost. Also sadface over no flavor text. 7.5/10
Flavor: Yeah, this seems more or less like it does what you want it to do. The name is good and the mechanic is too while still being a little beyond-what's-obvious. 8.5/10
    Score: 16
    Success and mana spending TBD

    CARD EVAL (Biotracker Missile)
Card: A very interesting shock variant. Flavor text is long so I'm not sure there's room, and the card was so intuitive just based on name and mechanics that short text might serve you better. 9/10
Flavor: You want to kill it, so there's a missile. Though again, like many things in this game, it's not clear where exactly this missile came from in the world of the game. You have no missle-esque weapons to fire it. 7.5/10
    Score: 16.5
    Success and mana spending Below

    16 vs 16.5 …

Yrjana 1919 is readying a detainment field when BOOM goes the biotracker missile. (Yrjana mana not spent, Mirik mana spent and +2 EXP). Mirik Cloud Stores the corpse and runs off, flying back to Orion Hub (Mirik +1(B/W)), where he fetches a hefty 2000 Credits from the biosphere scientists in exchange for the corpse.

If Yrjana has a problem with that, he's more than free to dispute Mirik on it, as I apparently now have a system for this sort of thing.

    KEESH and EIGLEM

    CARD EVAL (Projector)
Card: Interesting and simple and kind of frighteningly well designed, actually. The nonsummoning sickness does mean the cost should be around 3. Honestly, yeah, great. 9.5/10
Flavor: Here the score gets lower. This doesn't really feel like a scanning mechanic, it feels more like a, well, land-cultivating mechanic. 5/10
    Score: 14.5

    FA-BUT WAIT!!

    CARD EVAL (Kiralian Spec Op)
Card: Yeah this seems about right at common and cost. A good simple hybrid card that could actually be very good late game fetching up counterspells when you already have a lot of mana. 9/10
Flavor: This feels much more scanlike. 8/10
    Score: 17

    NUMOKA

I'm giving you a pass on not navigating per the rules since I'm so slow during my vacation, but in the future, when traveling through space, please say how. As such, I won't be posting all apt Nav entries.

You take to the skies and fly to Orion Hub (+(B/W)(B/W)).

    NAVIGATOR:
ORION HUB (Station) == Borders: Korbuska (Planet, Spaceport: Robuskall), Virn (Planet, Spaceport: Cobo)
A medium-sized military-built space station with very little lingering military presence and high recreation and trade value. It includes soldiers’ quarters, a cantina, a personal armory/shop, a ship armory/shop, a droid stall, a cloning center, and a biosphere. One travels from level to level via converted freight elevators. The clientele of the station nowadays tends to be higher-end, though some seedy types still make their way around.

You take a look around: Everything is sleek and well-lit, with advertisements rather than orders blaring over the speakers. It's like a residential, well-secured mall floating in the middle of space.

You take the elevator to the cantina level and enter the cantina. A grand mix of drinkers, gamblers, musicians, dancers, businessmen, etc. from all species and sectors inhabit the place. A familiar tune is playing when you enter, the same song you remember from that one cantina from that other place…

You see a human man holding the wrist of a female Tirlee, a traditionally beautiful humanoid species with superior intellect and no hair anywhere to speak of. "Ah, excellent, you must be the lucky sap," Draken says. "I'm Draken, and this is Carliah."

    "A pleasure," Carliah curtseys.

"Carliah seeks passage to Komanion, on planet Iri'leth. Honestly, I can't remember the full way there but I know it takes you past planet Urpion if you follow short routes. But keep an eye on her. She can be trouble."

You take her hand and walk away, thinking, perhaps a little gleefully, how it's going to be a very tight fit in the cockpit.

    ITON and MAETA RABE

You exchange greetings and Comm info, but then each seem to be taking a different mission from here. You agree that Iton will go do the droid repair while Maeta Rabe gets more information on the trade route venture, as it may require more travel.

    ITON

You go up to the main merchant level and purchase an amplification rod before descending back down to where the droid stall is set up. You meet Deelar, a male Squizzin (a newt-esque humanoid species with four arms instead of two). He is not the vendor, but seems to be the "brains" behind the stall.

"Oh, good, someone's here to help. Usually we get by fine, because we have a droid to repair our droids. But, well, now that droid's broken, too. We probably should've thought that through."

    MAETA RABE

You ascend to the soldier's quarters and find Elsemu'rr, a male Phintane (Resembles a two-legged, no-armed elephant who performs all grasping actions with his trunk). "Greetings, friend. Come and sit with me. I am so glad to have someone come to our aid. One never knows when posting on the Job Terminals who one will get, but you seem to be of a capable and kind disposition, I can tell. Now to business. My homeworld of Ulstha'rr has long sought trade relations with the people of Virn. Their planet contains great materials for heating, and we have technologies apt for cooling, which they need. However, for whatever reasons, our diplomats will not be heard by Cobo's leaders. Please see if you can convince them that this trade route would be advantageous to all."

"Wake up, sir!" You blink awake in your escape pod. The last thing you remember, you were riding that transport ship on a routine-- Oh, that's right. The alarms. The takeover. "Sir, please, you are weary, come with me." The memories keep flooding back. That infernal space pirate Zeke took over the ship, but you escaped to… here, wherever here is. "Sir I must insist." You look at the man talking to you and find it's a Derviner: a short and knowledgeable humanoid alien species with its eyes on antennae instead of on its head. "Please come this way." You follow the Derviner, or rather it drags you. Before you know it, you're in a city full of the things. The one who dragged you here points you to another. You slump over to him, still recovering from your pod's less-than-smooth landing.

"Greetings! I am Krobo. My friend Kreeb brought some of your fellow crashmates here not long ago, and I figured more of you might be trickling in so I positioned myself here to give you this!" He hands you a Navigator. "Handy thing! Tells you where you are and what's nearby. Works down here and up there just as well, so don't lose it! Not that I think you would lose it, that was just a joke, sir. Welcome to Robuskall."

You activate the Navigator. It displays:

NAVIGATOR: Robuskall (Spaceport City) == Borders: Murk’shaa Clearing

"Have a look around, and I know that Kreeb said you are welcome to any of the small ships you can repair from our scrapyard near the back of the city!"

Rombuskall is a large sprawling city of the Derviners, a generous alien species. While the city is expansive and busy, no structure in the city is taller than a single story. There are several ship hangers and docking pads, in addition to stores, restaurants, homes, etc. It manages to feel very quaint and homelike while still being a modern, advanced civilization hub.

You go near the back of the city and find the ship scrapyard (+2).

EDITEDIT: I actually just got a PM about this so let me clarify since I forgot to in the main post: Those of you who are blocking are in combat mode. Those of you who are not blocking have the choice to be in combat mode or not, but the difficulties for your spells will be high given the imposing nature of your foe (18-20 difficulty per action, variable depending on what it is).

"You seen any suspicious types heading the opposite way of you? The granary was robbed last night," a guard tells you. "If'n you could empty your pockets for a check…" You do so and are cleared of suspicion, mostly. "Well we have to stay in town for security, but if you want to try some detective work, the granary is just over that side of town."

    LOOK FOR CLUES
    Difficulty: 17

    Or proceed….

    Tenek

You look around and eventually find, how about that, a realtor. There are a few kinds of property available:

    Basement Apartment: 800 Gold
    Cottage: 2000 Gold
    Home: 4000 Gold
    Large Home: 6000 Gold

NOTE: I haven't really developed this part of the game as much, yet, but assume that things will follow within reason as to what can fit and be done in what kind of space. Also, sorry, but it's all very expensive.

As you leave the realtor feeling dejected about your purchasing power, a man walks up to you. "Didn't see anything you like, eh? I might have a room for you to rent for cheap, if you are willing to do a little something for me. Please deliver this note to Ivan D'Arcy in Pollace, on the continent of Authina. Please be careful when you do. He might not take the news very well. Do that for me and we can negotiate a price I'm sure you'll find more than reasonable."

    Endilses

You begin to compliment the vest, seeking a way to get it in your grasp for even a moment, but he doesn't seem to be letting it go. Your frustration swells within you (+1(U/R))

OOC: Deathtouch would require an attack, and while I haven't given you stats on him, its presumable that he has power of at least 1 and thus would probably kill you back unless you had first strike. Also, the office is relatively private, but not soundproof or locked.

    Vega, Aran, Avrin, Skyhand

There is, apparently, no time to gauge motives. You unleash an assault.

    CARD EVALS
Engulfing Darkness: Nope. This is, very often, a one-sided wrath for the price of a two-sided wrath. If this just said all creatures get -4/-4 that'd be one thing, but this is way too good for its cost. Bonus points for dark and full of terrors. 3/10
    3 + 2 + [dice=4]5[/dice] = FAIL (No Mana Spent)

Manglebeast: This is a lot of stuff, but actually, I think its good. It's simple while still exciting and probably has the right cost and build for that trio of abilities. 9/10
    9 + 2 + [dice=4]5[/dice] = SUCCESS (Mana Spent)
    EXP gained: 8

You do not say whether you unleash it, but I am assuming you do, and as such:
The two men you sent the beast after both foolhardily stood up to it and were vanquished. As your beast fades back into the ether:
"Ha ha, thank you, you fools! Freedom is mine!" laughs the previously unconscious man who now giddily runs off to the northwest.

Well, whoever he was, you saved him. And whoever those two other men are, they're dead.

    Skytherax

You go to the Grand Cathedral in search of a needy fellow. Entering the Cathedral you see, as always,Father Tor'ka. You also see a woman, Lady Catari, who seems to be another religious official. Among the notable nonclergy present are a strange turtle-man weeping in a pew and a faerie flying up around the rafters giggling.

    Degrammaton

    CARD EVAL
Card: Have we gotten to the point of this card? Probably. I think it might be better if it cost one more and had a tiny added perk or something. It feels now like it overshadows the current card of the same thing. 8/10
Flavor: Name works, mechanics work, flavor works, it works. 9/10
    Score: 17 + 1 = 18
    SUCCESS (Mana Spent)
    EXP Gained: 3

    LEVEL UP

Please reset exp to 0/45, change avatar to the below, and choose ONE of the three below abilities:

    Degrammaton 1BB
    Creature - Shade Assassin
Whenever you cast a black instant or sorcer spell, Degrammaton gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
    3/2

Bounty Hunter (+1 Combat Mod against creatures you’ve been contracted to kill)
Blood Ritualist (Once per combat, give self or ally -1/-1 to give that player +1.5 Spell Mod)
Shadowstrike (+1 Universal Mod against creatures that haven’t seen you yet.)

You slink down into the top tower chamber as see the artifact (+2). It is the Deathly Bauble. It is protected by some sort of red aura. Difficulty: 17.

    Imako, Uranti, Slarenk, Alvril

OOC: Yes each vial = 1

Imako buys one colorless vial, then Alvril buys three to give to Uranti. Imako then asks the merchant about the Lioshriek. "Oh, goodness, you're going after that thing? It's the whole reason I changed my route around the Shadowplain. Good luck is all I have to say." With that you head west to… Shadowplain. (Alvril +W(B/W), Imako +W(B/W), Uranti +1(B/W).

A grassy meadow of light and shadow where neither one belongs. There is nothing to cast a shadow anywhere for miles in this stretch, yet light and shadow dance together throughout the entirety of it. It is a place of great mystery and surprisingly easy to get lost in, with its lack of landmarks.

You are attacked by a load and roaring two-headed cat monster

    The Lioshriek 3(B/W)(B/W)(B/W)
    Legendary Creature - Cat Mutant
    Hexproof
Whenever a creature an opponent controls becomes the target of a spell an opponent controls during combat, The Lioshriek deals 2 damage to that creature.
    6/6

It seems to have an Aura around it:

    Sonic Umbra 1U
    Enchantment - Aura
    Enchant creature
Creatures blocking or blocked by enchanted creature get -2/-0.
    Totem armor

You choose blockers. You cannot run, not that you'd want to.

    Warren

    CARD EVAL
Diminish: Already a card name, and we tend to get a slight bonus for this mechanic at this cost. And no flavor text. 5/10
    5 + 1 + [dice=4]5[/dice] = FAIL (No Mana Spent)

Banishing Bolt: Doees more than shock but makes up for it with the must-strike-first condition. Weird last clause. I think I like this but again, no flavor text. 7/10
    7 + 1 + [dice=4]5[/dice] = FAIL (No Mana Spent)

Siphon Life: Well this breaks the dont mix counters rule pretty blatantly. Its a fine effect otherwise though kind of a boring card what with your persistent hatred of flavor text. 7/10
    7 + 1 + [dice=4]5[/dice] = FAIL (No Mana Spent)

I'm afraid the skeleton overtakes you.
You wake up in the Mausoleum in New Kalon and step outside feeling groggy.
You lose... 4 EXP and 1B.

    Haddok

"Hey, would you look at this guy? Big and furry bloke, ain't ya, big fella! Come have a drink with us. My name is Francis, what's yours?" Regardless of whether you tell him: "Listen up, let me give you one piece of life advice. Do NOT join the Hand of Righteousness if you ever want to feel alive again, my friend. I went 'on leave' and let me tell ya, I ain't ever going back, you hear me? Never! There's too much adventure to be had around here."

This man swore an oath and has gone back on it. You could chastise him here, report him to the Hand, ignore him and drink with him, or ask about his adventures. Or…. anything else.

    Ilaranon

    CARD EVAL
Card: I love weird grand effects like this. I think this card is well costed nd a fun rare to toy with. I think that, though, the mention of the moon in the flavor text is out of place given that you already mention it in your character narrative. 8.5/10
Flavor: Clever to do something similar to the moon that doesn't really have any sort of innate lunar flavor. Intelligence and flavor cleverness ought to be rewarded, and so it shall be. 9.5/10
    Score: 18 + 1 = 19
    SUCCESS (Mana Spent)
    EXP Gained: 6

    LEVEL UP
Choose a new avatar and reset exp to 2/30

    Ilaranon the Gold 1W
    Creature - Human Monk
,T: Target creature gets +0/+1 until end of turn.
    2/1

    Ilaranon the Gold W(W/B)
    Creature - Human Monk
1(W/B),T: Tap target creature with power 5 or less.
    2/2

    Ilaranon the Gold W(W/G)
    Creature - Human Monk
,T: Target creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
    2/2

Your offering to the temple is appreciated. "Thank you," bellows a voice whose origin cannot be determined. "Your offering pleases me greatly. As such, I have a task for you. Travel to the Elder's Coast, west of Hourglass Spire. There, dig and you will find the body of a man. Bring that body back to my altar and will receive more of my blessing. For now, take this." (+(B/W)(B/W)(B/W)(B/W))

    Elena

"Why yes, that sounds most excellent! In my limited time in the world of sentient creatures I have heard the term 'traveling companion' and I think this would be advantageous to us both!"

    You gain a traveling companion:
