The total came to around 450ish some dollars which was an excellent box. And in my earlier two i haven't gotten less then 290 dollars worth in value so at this point mm2015 is going quite strong atm at least for myself.
When you look at the avg value in a pack you have to factor in ALL of the pack. There will be many money commons and uncommons and the likelyhood of that foil card also being money is actually quite high, so to me its a no brainer that you will get your money back the majority of the time.
My example was from the last time i bought two booster boxes and in total I had about 550 in card value. Retail value but value none the less.
IMO When it comes to rarity shifts to mythic as long as the card was printed in an era that had mythics wizards seems loath to upshift then. So thats how I understand why goyf and bob got those shifts upwards. So I'm betting on a nice rare reprint of hierarch.
I fully advocate buying boxes if you dont mind taking a chance on value. Cuz added up overall from a box you will usually get your money's worth. As for the boxes I pre-order its fully to draft with friends and to open up so im just trying to get the best deals possible.
Also keep in mind this set is supposed to be upper expert lv fun lets enjoy this shall we? I mean honestly wizards fully wants to make sure more of this set gets drafted then last time and i fully expect that to happen. Hell even without any prize packs i'd love to draft this set.
But again thats just from wizards themselves, stores still have the option to go thru their distributors to get whatever boxes they can find. To which some stores do and others do not. If i looked on ebay as of right now I can count roughly 50-60 boxes up to pre-order with still six weeks to release. To me that tells me stores are trying to get their profits now because when the general market opens up its going to be rough with what the supply should be. But with a set so heavily in demand it is going steadily tick up as did MM1 when it got to release.
Its a gamble simply put but based upon the value i opened before of over 500 for 380 spent its worth it to me.
I'm going to put the current box prices this way, we live in a free market society if you dont like the price someone is selling it at shop around for something better, there is almost ALWAYS someone cheaper if you take the time to look around for it. This week on ebay alone I'm seeing 6-7 plus listings for 250-260 with free shipping. This product is going to be much easier to get then MM1, Tho my caveat is this, if you dont get in on prices before the spoilers you won't ever see these prices again.

Two years ago at my main store in minnesota they had over 200 boxes. Which was between the main shipment and every and any box they could find from distributors. it was nuts everyone that waited in line for a msrp box got one and they had left over. (limit 1 box a person tho) A bit of a wait but boy was it worth it.
For myself I was lucky enough to find a box for 225 $ with free shipping after shopping around on the internet. Let's just say its going to be nuts opening 4-5 boxes come may.
there are no cards that can do so. to have a non token card it HAS to always be a card that you played. tokens forever are that and its the reason to keep cards like that in check. sorry tho
here's what i ran into on day two. me and my friend went to the sealed i pulled out two stomping grounds and im thinking wow thats an amazing pull. I see my friends stuff and he gets TWO AURELIAS, along with merciless eviction needless to say he 4-0's easily, while i just 3-1 happy enough. suffice it to say, boros = the win.
strangely enough i took out the mind stones to see how the deck plays and actually it has run just fine w/o. i have never felt too slow and the deck just has a higher density of threats due to that and still spam card draw with 3 esper charms, and 4 mulldrifters.
how about putting in reveilark? maybe instead of tower garg. there are plenty of good 2 power creatures you can get back, and put in mulldrifter and you have some serious CA going on.
