That would collapse the market for secondhand stores and essentially wipe out the community. Stores make more money on singles than they ever will with packs alone. If the prices of singles drops due to re-prints and everyone has all of the staples they could never get rid of the extras that they end up with. SCG would cut back on the Open Series if not outright stop running it, and you would see the player base dry up due to lack places to play.

It might hurt the secondhand market, but it might increase business for WOTC directly. If players knew chase rares for an older format were in new packs they'd be buying them like crazy, if not to play with than to trade or sell. That's the thing, new players don't go into their card shops to buy singles for a format they can't afford, even worse no one is playing. We all want to play a multitude of formats. This is a game.

Bonfire of the Damned is a card. It is also a card that is going to see a ton of play until it rotates. 1 sided board wipe (aka my guys are unblockable this turn and many turns afterwards) that also domes my opponent or takes out a planeswalker. Then on top of that it has its uses on turn 3-5 not just at the end of the game.

So from thundermaw we get 1 turn of unblockable compared to permanently remove your board blocking anything now or in the next few turns. I mean its not even a competition.

Everything this guy is designed to beat bonfire does better. Any time you give me a job to fill with a card and my options are a creature filling that role or an instant/sorcery filling that role I will always pick the instant/sorcery. Everything bonfire couldn't deal with this guy cannot either. So what's the point?

Who said we can't play Bonfire alongside Thundermaw? And as far as ZC against Thundermaw, on an empty battlefield I would rather drop the dragon.

Why not ban things like Goyf and Bob in modern? Sure, it will hurt the players who own them but those cards will still be super playable in legacy. Wasn't that the point of modern, to create an eternal format but not another legacy? If we remove those absurdly priced cards from the format then maybe new players will get into modern.

Thundermaw Hellkite is basically unblockable. Thragtusk, Wolfir Silverheart and what not can be chumped by anything. Well, that's where Rancor comes in. But anyway, I'm expecting this dragon to be even better post rotation when there's virtually no instant speed removal besides what Murder. Let's see what RtR brings.

Well it's not hip-hop. Hip-hop is a great musical culture. It's that damn thug mentality that has taken over hiP-hop. Many hip-hop heads will say that hip-hop is dying or dead and iy is because it is all about money, power, drugs and violence. I don't know what group started it but I too am tired of dealing with ruthless peopl.

I believe they should use extended as a ptq format and leave modern for the pros, since it's hard for newer players like myself to be competitive in a format where a staple is a hundred bucks each.

Damn, that new masticore is bonkers. Plus he's easy on the mana requirements.

    What about Skinrender? Too slow?

I started playing with Shards, so excuse my ignorance of the Lorwyn block. So, is Sprouting Thrinax just not good enough? And what are everyone's thought's on Thoughtseize main? I love the card and with finks the pain isn't so bad.

I rarely consistently get to my sixth land drop, so, I say no to six drops. We should worry more about the early game, as that's what I feel other archetypes are progressing on i.e. blue gets mana leak and what not.

How did the AP's treat you? Was your way of removing them consistent?

You know geopede is meant to capitalize on slow control decks, specifically ones that run wall of omens. Against aggro orientated decks like Mythic and Naya he's terrible. It depends. If your fnm or ptq is filled with control, maindecking geopede is awesome, especially alonside vengevine, but if your meta is aggro, which includes Jund, then he's not special.

Also, if your running geopede make sure you pack a full set of eveolving wikds as well. Just making sure everyone understands when running geopede in the maindeck your deck should consist of at least eight fetches. geopede and fetches is like peas and carrots.
