I'm guessing budger is an issue for you so I'll keep things to commons/uncommons/cheap rares.
Personally I think 10 is too few for lands, I would drop artifacts to 40 and bring lands up to 20. But if you want to stick with 10 lands, just get one of each bounceland, I'm sure local players will donate them to you for free.
Play 1 of each bounce land, then
Dessert
Terramorphic Expanse
City of Brass/gemstone mine/grand colloseum
Strip Mine
Mishra's Factory/Stomping Stones
Kjeldorian Outpost (can't think of another white alligned land)
Faerie Conclave
Volrath's Stronghold (can't think of another black alligned land)
Barbarian Ring
Treetop Villiage
That gives you a dual land in each color, a land that correspondce to a monocolor, and 5 utility lands
In artifacts, I would play the missing 8 signets, and drop five cards to start
Sunbeam Spellbomb (The white one is weak, Pyrite and Aether Spellbomb aren't horrible though)
Wall of Spears (weak and dull)
Delif's Cone (if you want this effect pick up a loxodon warhammer instead)
Cloud Key (way too leaner and not all that helpful)
Pewter Goelm (Just dull like Wall of Spears)
PS. get a crystal shard.
I laughed my ass off when I saw Paper Tiger (it is quick to fold!), and acctualy without the other two its not horrible.
In White I would pick up a Serra Angel (drop Jedits Dragoon) just because she rocks.
Theres more than could be said, but I'm going to bed.
Hi everyone, I've been working on a cube that my friends and I could play with in our spare time when we want to get away from constructed. My goal was to get the cube to be 360 cards, so if I had 8 people drafting, the entire card pool could be used. Ideally, I'd get 50 for red/blue/black/white/green/multi and 30 artifacts and 20 lands to get 360 (if you could think of a better distribution, let me know, thanks!) Anyway, I'm going to go buy some cards sometime this weekend, and was wondering what you guys thought should change (I know for a fact there needs to be changes). Any help would be appreciated. If possible, could suggestions be budget cards (I'm going to the shop to try to get some stuff for extended, so I don't know how much money I'll have left over for the cube). Again, thanks!
Depends on what you want, and how big of a cube you want it to be. Check out Neo's cube, I used it as an example.
DerBK usally has some really good insight into cubin.
cubedrafting.com for evan erwins cube. He has a good cube to start with.
here is mine, I like it, thats why I made it that way. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=125698
I decided to edit in more info. I have been working on cube packages for people who are starting to cube like you. They are subsets of cards that you can add to your deck to add themes and archtypes to drafts. It will give you some ideas of what cards to add.
Here's a quick question that was brought up during a game today. If my opponent has a card in his graveyard that he wishes to flashback from the graveyard, and i remand it, will the spell get countered and returned to his hand? or will it be removed from the game?
i updated the deck list. do you guys think it looks better at all? the current metagame around here is almost everyone playing RDW (1 person plays merfolk, 1 plays tokens, 1 plays doran rock, 1 plays toast, 1 plays faeries, and the rest play RDW from what i've seen). If you guys could help anymore, i'd appreciate it. I tried to add in all of your guys's suggestions. I couldn't find room for the bitterblossom though
I want to build a deck that runs 4 of fact or fiction, 4 of brilliant ultimatum, and 4 of gifts ungiven. Are there any other cards that split like these cards? and does any one have any other cards they'd like to suggest (or a win condition?) thanks for all the help!
I'm also a huge fan of Viscera Dragger instead of Ravenous Rats. He's a great EOT turn 2 play and can be unearthed for beats the next turn or wait until you have Kelpie. I'd bump to a set of Sedraxis Specter because he usually warrants burn the first time you play him and usually gets through for beats once you unearth him, if not killed by Magma Spray of course.
So to look at your recurring targets (only able via Makeshift Mannequin), you originally have Ravenous Rats (1/1), Mulldrifter (2/2), and River Kelpie (3/3 persist).
I have mixed feelings about Shriekmaw now that Shards is out just because there are a lot less targets to terror now. He's a dead card most of the time and I'd look at substituting Grixis Charm in for him, even though he is another potential Mannequin/card draw target.
If you substitute in the mentioned changes of +4 Viscera Dragger (3/3 unearth), +1 Sedraxis Specter (3/2 unearth), and +3 Fleshbag Marauder (3/1), you have a much more solid attack force and can save your Makeshift Mannequins for River Kelpie, Mulldrifter, Fleshbag Marauder, or Oona.
I've been fooling around with River Kelpie because I love River Kelpie, yet I somehow can't seem to pull off the wins when i need them! The deck tries to use the old Crucible+Raven's Crime+River Kelpie Combo and try to use hand control with Cunning Lethemancer and Ravenous Rats as well as Sedraxis Specter. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to post! Or anything at all! Thanks, and I appreciate all your time and help!
I appreciate your help good sir. Thanks.
