My favorite would be any of my Bant foils. In order they are:
1. Rafiq of the Many
2. Finest Hour
3. Noble Hierarch
4. Misty Rainforest
5. Rhox War Monk
6. Bant Charm
7. Jace, The Mind Sculptor
8. Elspeth, Knight-Errant
9. Negate
10. Sunpetal Grove
This version doesn't seem to be abusing BBE like we're used to Jund doing. Maybe that's the way to go with Geopede, ensuring a creature Cascade instead of removal Cascade.
- Did I miss BSA, no, not really, 3/5 flying off the Sphinx was pretty decent, I could tell the U/W player wasn't quite as terrified by it, but it still got in some damage before the DoJ.
Of course you didn't miss Baneslayer, it's Lifelink makes it one of the most irrelevant creatures in the deck, and for that reason I board it out for the control matchups. Baneslayer doesn't make this deck, the Conscriptions and Sovereigns do (and the cards that allow you to ramp into them by definition.)
Cutting Baneslayer Angel is completely fine. I think she's awesome and run 4, but I end up siding her out a good amount (when she's too slow or just an irrelevant threat). Also the planeswalker heavy build usually cuts her, don't they?
Also I've seen multiple people run Vengevine in the Mythic deck, they usually cut BSA to the sideboard for this change... and again, it is fine. Makes the deck better against control/planeswalkers.
I could never bring myself to cut Knight though, that card is a powerhouse, also I'm hoping that guy that suggested Asha's Favor was just joking, but then again plenty of people on these forums wanted to run a "toolbox" of auras (which seems ridiculous, if you can tutor up a conscription why would you ever chose something weaker!?).
I actually can understand dropping Baneslayer, but not in favor of Vengevine if I'm not running Ranger of Eos. I'd probably rather run a Planeswalker package or Rhox War Monks.
Wow. This forum's competitive nature has degraded soooo far in the recent months. First the op is suggesting cutting Baneslayer and Knight of the Reliquary, and now this guy is suggesting one of the jankiest auras available ever.
Cutting Baneslayer and Knight is awful. Both are must deal with threats that take fire away from Sovereigns and/ or whatever creature a Conscription sticks to. Does Sea Gate Oracle do that? No. Does Vengevine do that? Not in this build; his recursion is too conditional to be effective in this build. Vengevine works in Next Level decks because of Ranger of Eos, but it will never work in a Mythic deck.
Bad thing about this is that it pretty much confirms it's lorwyn's 5 again...
My feelings exactly. I was really looking forward to Elspeth getting reprinted over Ajani. Oh well, all good things must come to an end (even if that end is after Elspeth gets her own duel deck.)
Yanked the KotR for VV per bodul's good suggestion. I never really felt KotR did anything very impressive in the deck, yeah she thinned the library, yeah she was a big fat wall, but I honestly almost never swung with her, nor did I ever conscript her. The only spectacular thing KotR did was bring out the occasional steppe to protect some creature and for the reasons already stated, I think VV would pull more weight in the deck.
It's time to think outside the deck.
Then you obviously aren't playing the same deck. Guaranteed landfall triggers for Lotus Cobra? Keeping a Conscripted creature alive via Sejiri Steppe? A kill condition in and of itself? What does Vengevine do in here that Knight of the Reliquary doesn't? You probably won't even recur the Vengevines with no Ranger of Eos, which greatly diminishes it's power. Knight of the Reliquary is one of those guys that typical (ie good) Mythic decks just can't afford to cut.
1) Emrakul- My opponent lands this and pretty much wins.
2) Sovereigns of Lost Alara- I usually am the one wrecking face with it, and I can tell you from experience, it isn't fun being on the defensive against this guy.
3) Baneslayer- Just read the card, really.
4) Progenitus- Really surprised he isn't played more, but then again he's no Emrakul.
5) Knight of the Reliquary- With fetchlands he can make himself larger, and he can also protect other creatures from spot removal. Such a nasty dude.
- don't think about cuttin' Rhox War Monk, he's the reason (in Company with Kor Firewalker) why the Matchup vs AiR may be pretty good, otherwise this version will (just like NLB) simply concede to that kind of deck.
Not necessarily. Wall of Omens also helps that matchup immensely (as does Baneslayer Angel.)
I don't think the red splash is really needed, and just weakens an already risky manabase. Bloodbraid Elf passing up Vengevine is always an issue, so I truly think that the typical Next Level lists are just fine, just fine tune the list to your liking, or to be better in the RDW matchups (Rhox War Monks and Baneslayers MD, Firewalkers SB)
...but... that's not foil...

Yes I love Bant.
Yes I love foils.
You do realize it isn't going to rotate until next October, right?

Least Favorite: Bloodbraid Elf. Too powerful in Jund. I play Jund as well, and casting a BBE feels almost like cheating sometimes.

Edit:
That made me lawl.
Really? Spell Pierce is better than Jace? Or even Negate? I don't see it.
