Quick Blip: **** got better because I talked with a certain someone and seeing her made me feel better. So there is that.

Gonna have to call someone on here out, but in the best way possible. User on here named Xanth is the owner of my LGS (Curio Cavern). Found out today that he is selling the Commander decks at MSRP, which is cool, but the interesting part is that if you want the Grixis one, you have to buy the other 4.

I honestly feel this is a really good idea as it keeps them selling and stops people from trying to flip the grixis for pure value leaving the others to stay on the shelves. I really enjoy how he is doing this. So yea, thanks for being an awesome LGS owner man.

Yeah, that is a good plan. My LGS just went: buy any of them $30 each, limit one of each specific type.

So you could buy one of each but never two of one. Keeps people from flipping Mind Seize but still lets people grab a copy for themselves for cheap. Thankful to my LGS so much. The other LGS by where I worked just said $65 for Mind Seize, $50 for the rest.

They also did buy $300 in merchandise, get a FTV for $50, or $400 each otherwise. My LGS that did the buy one each Commander for $30 did a FTV standard tournament, with the winner getting a FTV, the top 8 able to buy one for MSRP, and a FTV being opened and each card distributed randomly to everyone else.

Point is, one LGS is my all-time fave. The other one has more singles and a better FNM turnout..

    The Commander decks look fun.

The only thing I found amusing about Jeleva is the deck screams put the lich guy as your general. So much "Each player draws X" cards....so much...

Still happy I got it for MSRP and not horribly overpriced like most of the stores in my area were doing.

I've spent 2 1/2 years getting my landbase for Scapeshift Combo together for Legacy..and I'm almost there. (1 Glacial Chasm and 2 Misty Rainforests to go)

A really cheap (comparatively) legacy deck that I'm building is Oops, All Spells. Don't need to spend $$$ on a landbase when the deck has 0 lands Wink

Got Mind Seize today for $30 at my LGS. The other store in my area was asking $65. Hahhahaha, no.

I'd rather skip standard and foot the bill for Modern/Legacy personally, as you know, those cards, once obtained, don't rotate out.

So basically do you focus on standard continuously and grab bits and pieces of other formats very slowly, or drop standard for a decent modern deck in a short amount of time (barring BGX) or legacy eventually?

Obzedat Day? I like the sound of that.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day full of spooky thrills.

In MTG news, I have a Modern Mill decklist going. It feels good playing the deck that got me into this game in the first place. (Although Szadek still sucks. Tsk tsk. Of course, he was just a front for the Library. No self-respecting library puts an obvious villainous vampire as its leader. Common sense really)

Also got a few pieces of Oops, All Spells together for Legacy...and my playset of Deathrite Shaman (Finally!)

I always enjoyed the Ender's Game sub-series, but there really isn't any of them that are like the original (except maybe Speaker in my opinion. That one was good.) Xenocide and the one after that got weird...

I'm also an advocate of 2-color advantage over 3-color with scrylands in T2. Any playtest against aggro? Rakdos Midrange is hosing every build I playtest against it. Yet to run that junk deck against it though.

@Digi SCG IQ in Columbus on Nov. 16th!

No aggro playtests. Although that's the main problem. U/B seems to have a nice natural matchup vs control.

Sideboard's basically all aggro hate most likely, with a few mirror cards.

Seconded (or Thirded, whatever) on We know what the fox says. I like it.

@Digi sorry to hear about all that man :/ I don't know from personal experience about anything like that, my parents divorced quite amicably and everything went well with the family.

So my U/B control deck finally got a few playtests against America Control and Esper Control, and I really like the control matchup. Went 6-1 vs America, and 1-0 vs Esper. That easier manabase means I'm dropping Thoughtseize into Returned Phalanx into Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and they're scrylanding all day.

Also, that one-of Reap Intellect won 3 games by itself. I EoT overloaded Cyclonic Rift on my Esper opponent who had 6 Soldier tokens, Elspeth, and Jace, then Reaped for 5, hitting his Elspeth, Jace, Detention Sphere, Verdict, and Sphinx's Revelation. The Ashiok next turn exiled his only Aetherling. Scooped after that.

I still think Reap is not a good card, but it's worthy of at least sideboard testing after how hilarious it is against control.

    Ouch, some people I say.

Today was a good day, did some Pokemon X and spent 3 hours in my LGS trading for stuff. Turned in a bunch of standard stuff I wasn't using at 100% value (My LGS owner was a really good friend of my brother, he always gives me a good deal) for a Bitterblossom, 2 Cyclonic Rift, 3 promo Lingering Souls, promo Spellstutter Sprite, and some other goodies.

Also finally have my U/B Standard decklist, just really need a couple Pithing Needlefor side and a mainboard Jace, Architect of Thought

I like Archmage a lot(first Faerie I ever owned), Scion and Bitterblossom are both just good. Undercurrents looks fun, and Death Match with Oona, herself, makes me go "Oh my F****** God that's great!"

Yeah, that card amuses me. As long as your opponent's cant use it better than you, it's hilarious.

Also Warped Devotion & Dissipation Field is a janky albeit fun combo I like to do as well. I don't really have any I-win combos, it's just a fun deck to run around with.

Well, now I want to play with my Oona EDH and change it to a more creature-based dealio with Oona.

The current build is hard control and Oona can hang out in the exile zone 80% of the time.

Really just want to switch like 7-10 cards around and give it a bit more creature presence. (Scion of Oona, Sprite Noble, Bitterblossom, Glen Elendra Archmage)

Also ETB triggers are fun w/ Oona Death Match or Dire Undercurrents (and Scion gives all my faeries shroud so an opponent can't abuse Death March)

    Thoughts?

Mm, not much of a football fan myself. But it's always fun to do that sort of thing with a group.

Oh good, I figured there would be a League thread.

Just wallowing in pity as I just lost my Silver I promos to gold in the 5th game after starting out 0-2. Just annoying.

But back to 90 LP in Silver I so I don't think I'll have a problem getting back up.

All right fellas, the contest is in full swing. Most of you are in the Facebook group. Raz needs some more feedback, be it the incorporation of ideas to build upon what we already have, or even some sort of criticism (constructive!), or even all out praise.
Come on people. If we win face we still have a minor shot at coty.

I suppose I need invites/links to this here Library facebook group.

pft. Dimir doesn't bash face. Dimir mind controls some giant dude to bash our enemies' faces in.

Not subtle enough! NOT ENOUGH. Needs more Twisted Justice.

This is what they get for returning books late.

@Nate, the cousin I'm speaking if is almost exactly the same age as me, (I'm four months older), and we grew up thick as thieves. We still are closer than any of my other cousins are, in fact. He isn't fond of speaking, still. So we Skype a lot and hang together at all family gatherings. We even have secret signs to each other. This used to drive everyone crazy, but we rarely ever use them anymore.

@Teraparsec, do you only play limited? Also, could I email you randomly with magic questions? If so, how fast would you respond?

There was an extra T in my sig. Fixed!

Very sweet on the cousin deal. Awesome as hell indeed.

I actually don't know that much ASL. I was brought up in a public school system like anyone else, just had speech therapy when I was 5 or so. Only picked up my small bit of ASL when I was counseling for a vision/hearing-impaired camp.

Cochlear's don't work for me, my problem is nerve damage. All the structures work just fine otherwise.

Omenspeaker's great, but I really like Phalanx as well...grr decisions.
