Finally. It's been far too long.

Should have just banned counterbalance if they wanted to hit miracles but leave the rest of the decks alone that were using top namely non blue decks like nic fit and such. I think they needed to ban some piece of miracles though, as it was clearly the best deck for a long, long time hands down. Every non miracles deck seemed to run abrupt decay purely to answer the softlock, whereas now it's not clear if you want to run decay over more efficient removal options that can answer deathrite shaman on the draw. Deathrite is now the premier 1 drop in legacy by the way, not delver. Though they'll likely be used together a lot deathrite has great power for a 1 drop.

Could spawn a new fringe storm variant, but I'm skeptical of it in comparison to the usual suspects (ad nauseam, past in flames.) The card I thought of with this is Ill-gotten gains, which discards your hand when it resolves but I don't see how this helps all that much. I think the real use for shadow of the grave will be in fluctuator based combo decks since resolving it after cycling a bunch is likely to win you the game on the spot or at least draw you a ton of cards, but it remains to be seen whether fluctuator combo will be a contender.

I, for one, would love to see them update the card back. You could still use cards with older backs in formats that would have older and newer cards mixed together, but it could be enforced that sufficiently dense sleeves are used. It's already expected with double faced cards, for instance.

I know this would sound extreme to many people, but so did double-faced cards.

No. Double faced cards have a way to make them legal in any kind of sleeve with checklist cards. The new idea you're proposing has no way of making cards legal in sleeves that are even slightly see through with cards with the different card back. Cheating is already a big enough issue, this just makes it worse. TCG's should NEVER change their card back, period.

Telling the rarity on these cards...such a pain. Guess I should have just assumed rare so that people aren't so butthurt over this card tanking or something.

To those saying fetch hoser in limited...what fetches are in this set? Evolving wilds? So you're likely to have 15-16 basics and 1-2 wilds. Looking at the top 4 cards is heavily likely to yield a basic land to you when your 30 card deck is likely to be almost half lands. The reason mindcensor is good in constructed is because fetches usually have a far smaller number of targets especially in relation to deck size.

I saw one of these on my facebook feed and came here to find out more. I mean, ****. Why did they do this...I have taste, and I can't stand these. Cards are supposed to be recognizable, but these are not remotely recognizable. I wouldn't be surprised if these got banned from tournament play because every time one is played the opponent will have to scrutinize the card to know what card it is.

I wouldn't call this a strict upgrade in pauper over sea gate oracle; oracle can find lands, which is a big deal sometimes as well as being a guaranteed hit whereas augur is not no matter how many spells you run.

Another MMA set, another set where goyf wasn't downshifted to rare. Then again goyf being in a modern masters set is a gimme because the moment it isn't in one the market will go crazy.

I love this card, but couldn't it have been made uncommon? It's pretty sweet in limited but not absurd since the cost is a balance of sorts. For limited I would have liked meglonoth more despite it just being a creature. It is what it is. I love the ice age art way more though.

This card will ruin some more games of limited hooray. Seriously once you have 5+ lands out there is nothing that is better to draw in limited than this card and even if it gets stranded in hand a 5 mana 4/4 flier is never bad.

The day they put reminder text on harmonize is the day that I leave, never to return. It's flavor text, though barely anyone on this site understands how to read and write chinese in any dialect.
