    Gruesome Deformity
simply because I hate it when someone plays black/red aggro and tosses this on a neonate early or a flipped Hanweir watchkeep or what not and then I can't block

Boar obv.....need to hope that we start getting more green 2 drops to start fitting the curve for GU aggro otherwise (and i'm hoping) we start getting pieces to the GU mill yourself deck splashing for spider spawning

Red/White is a good archtype for Divine Reckoning.....especially being passed cheap white creatures and Rage Thrower....even combos well with Unruly Mob too and if things get reallllllly out of hand then you have the blasphemous Act to bail you out. On Silver-Inlaid Dagger.....yes this is better than Abbey Griffin because anything that you equip it to (and I mean anything) will become a threat, more importantly though your creatures that come down before the griffin will suit up the dagger and hit for more damage anyway.

Geez. If only I could have this kind of draft. Frown You got passed heretic's punishment, devil's play and multiple brimstone volleys. What were people taking at this table?

At that point, you probably should have just gone goodstuff and gotten what you could (in this case, it seemed like green was clearly open, for example). Like, your red was so awesome, you just needed to pair it with an open color. What you DIDN'T need to do was jump all over the place in your first couple of packs.

Green would have been fine if you had taken and cut it, black would have been fine if you had picked better (screeching bat is a much higher pick than you rate it, for example).

You just needed to find consistency within your decks. Your curve is kind of all over the place - way too many 5 drops, for example. You're also playing too many situational cards. Don't get me wrong - I like nightbird's clutches quite a bit, but you have to be super beatdown to want that card. Like, multiple waifs, multiple diregraf ghouls and a bunch of interlopers.

It can, but you need to build correctly.

To be fair this is a swiss draft so people are probably drafting for sets? I hear that's what they usually do? Anyway I just wanted to reiterate what everyone else was saying about Green being open...I'm not a fan of the GR decks myself as I usually slip into a Green/Blue or Black/Red deck. I find that I'm usually splashing in this format that others and with those lovely brimstone volleys waiting to lightning bolt a blocker or just lava axe someone into oblivion then it woulda been good to just use splash instead of straight up commiting to red full out. Ironsmith is not a good card in my experience...yes he comes down early and may flip however it is usually a 1/1 first striker in the mid to late game so not so great. Thanks for posting this though and good luck nextime online Smile

Prey Upon is the choice IMO because it's less mana intensive, works well with the big guys and although it is situational (as is all the removal) it sets us up to be G/U which I feel is a better deck and also better since we won't be fighting for Black pack2. Finally it's easily splashable where Victim of Night might be a "better" removal spell is not easily splashable and then if black dries up pack2 and pack3 just has poor spells coming around we'll need to take subpar cards to fix our mana (traveler's amulet and caravan vigil), which I'd rather not run just because there should be better cards over them.

I've drafted this deck online a couple of times and it works well enough that as long as you are mindful of your timer then you're golden. The problem with this deck is that purify the grave and curse of oblivion is a real sideboard card that just wrecks you because it's an instant speed spell and a permanent enchantment that usually you don't have anything to remove them with. Also if they happen to actually get curse of death's hold then all your spiders are negated. Sever the bloodline is also a problematic card at times but not soo bad. Benefits of this deck is that nobody usually expects to play against it and the cards usually wheel to you without much concern so the deck really does build itself. Cons would be that you should know how to play it and the cards that are good against it are also good against other decks except the purify the grave.

    Personally I like

Daze is great with Foil and Foil acts like a counter and enabler at the same time....only thing I don't like is the Spell Snare since I'm not sure if it should sideboard instead but with all the 2cc creatures running about now it seems like it deserves maind deck slots where I used to have Spell Pierce instead.

Would you wait to have counters available to reanimate Jin? To protect him during you opponents turn untill they discard? Or is it worth the risk and drawing 7?

Depends on how soon you plan on reanimating him...if it's turns 1-3 then go for it but anytime after that then you had just better wiat since they've probably got the removal.

Doh, just found out that it's 5% off order OR free shipping, not both, sigh.

It should be. Send me your e-mail address associated with your order and I'll make sure your refunded. Sorry about that.
*edit- I think I found the error. It seems a coupon setting got altered and I set it back correctly.

/\ /\ this is why they are the best....Heath does his customers right and is ALWAYS open to listen/resolve the issue to the best of BOTH parties. Not just to "profit" from sellers/buyers so tops to him and his company and thanks for everything. I personally sold a decent sized order to them in person and they not only gave me cash but also worked it out so I could have MTGO tix as well and not just some store credit.

I would say it's Leyline of the Void because for the exact reason everyone else is saying. Graveyard hate is bad all the way around and going to be worse now that snapcaster decks are going to be hitting the scene (basically more graveyard hate all in all and some even maindeck to fight those types) so the best way to avoid them is to start using the Show and Tells in sideboard and the bounce spells.

I've been playing around with eldrazi quite a bit in reanimator lately. Dropping a huge annihilator creature turn 2 and swinging is basically gg. her'es the list I've got right now.

It's working quite well as it usually shuts down the opponent in 1 swing. If they manage to stop you early on, pulling out Sheoldred can quite easily end a game as well. Bog Witch enables your creatures in the yard as well as mana and with them and 4 dark rituals the swamps aren't nearly as necessary as normal and you can easily get away with a lower land count.

Not sooooo good when you can't reanimate the big guys Frown they get shuffled back in

Do you guys have any suggestions on how to fight U/W Stoneblade, which is rising in popularity in my local metagame? I'm talking about play-style, really. I feel like I'm missing some of the nuances of playing this deck.

And there's another deck. It's like... U/B Wizards or something. Essentially, it's like Dark Confidants, Vendilion Cliques, Snapcasters, Hymns, and the blue permission suite. It's pretty savage. No idea how to fight that either.

Seems like resolving Jin-Gitaxias, core augur turns 2-3 otherwise the next target would be Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or Blazing Archon to prevent their attacks...if you can resolve these and protect them from StP then you're sure to win.
