Can I use Zur the Enchanter to fetch 'flipped' enchantments, like Rune-Tail's Essence? What's the ruling on flip cards in contexts like this?

  • posted a message on Best way to print cards
I'm trying to proxy a bunch of cards for some EDH and testing (my playgroup proxies a lot). Does anyone have a suggestion for the best way to print out a bunch of cards, like a template that is correctly sized?

In the past, I copied images from the web into MS Word and printed, and then altered the size if the first print run wasn't correctly sized. This will take far too long so I was wondering if there was a convenient template or something that I can use, or maybe a website where I can just type in all the cards I need to print and it formats the pages correctly.

    Clamp. It's clearly absurd.

    Phyrexian Unlife

    Moltensteel Dragon

With phyrexian unlife in play, you can buff Moltensteel dragon ad infinitum.

It's the customer service number for a UK bus company that dicked me over. I'm trying to avoid getting boned on int'l charges too, and I assume they apply, but I was just double checking [b/c it's a customer service number for a moderately big operation, I'm holding onto the sliver of chance that it wouldn't cost me extra].

I have a redeye flight on saturday night from Philly to London. I'm going to be doing a lot of stuff on sunday in England, and we land at 9 am. I want to get maximum sleep on the plane. Would you recommend a sleeping pill, and if so, are over-the-counter pills effective?

You're flying in plane when all of a sudden a hurricane appears and destroys the plane. Luckily, you brought along your parachute and were able to miraculously survive the disaster. You land in the stormy waters, and pass unconscious.

You wake up on a small desert island, about the size of a few city blocks. The island has some trees and grass, with a nice beach along the shore. In all directions you can only see ocean. You notice a cave entrance in the side of a hill on the center of the island, and when you explore inside you're surprised. It's fully furnished and looks fairly comfortable. Your walking in awakes a Genie that was comfortably sleeping in one of the beds. "Well Hi there," "You can never get off this island, but don't worry!" he says. You're perplexed.

"This room is comfortable and you can live here forever - that refrigerator magically refills with food and water after you use it. I am also granting you some things that might make your life here better. Choose wisely. You get to choose the following:

    1. Three musical albums.
    2. Three films.
    3. One video game.
    4. One person from history (can be living or dead) to live with you.
    5. One board game
    6. Three books.
    7. One piece of art to spruce up your new house
    8. One mundane group of objects, such as a pen & notebook, easel & paint, etc.
    9. One musical instrument
    10. Two TV channels that you can watch
    11. One wish that affects those off the island, per usual genie wish rules.

In the house are all the means to utilize this stuff (TV, speakers, etc.), but don't try and take them apart to get home. This place exists in a fold of space-time and there is no possibility of communication or escape."

Choose wisely, and provide reasons where applicable.

TL;DR: Choose a bunch of stuff to go with you on an abandoned island.

What do you think the 10 best cards are in the set?

And, as a bonus, what is your single favorite card (it doesn't have to be one of the best?)

So far, I'm not a fan at all of any of the spoiled card art. I am a fan of that chippy Goblin pic, but otherwise everything just looks kinda weak.

Do you like or dislike the art style for MBS, and why?

Clearly Race. It has the least impact on what makes me me.

Also, assuming everything else stays the same about me (educated, hard working, etc.), it can serve as an actual benefit. If I was an African American but everything else stayed the same, I'd get excellent job offers because of affirmative action/racial quotes/etc.

Although 500 Days of Summer doesn't relate that much to your first list, it's an awesome movie. See it. It's funny, enjoyable, and might make you feel all warm inside.

As far as other movies, I'd say Oldboy, Tarantino films (reservoir dogs, kill bill vol. I & II, pulp fiction, inglorious basterds primarily), Mulholland Drive, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I'm jealous of you. You've seen so many good movies, but have so many more to see. I wish I was earlier in my film journey so I could enjoy movies like Mulholland Drive again.

I'm surprised at the 5 who voted that she was in the right. Misunderstanding of the question? Or do almost 4% of respondents legitimately think it was ok for her to do that?

Sorry, I just can't see how her acts are defensible. She was absolutely in the wrong, and she owes you a new book, as everyone says. And why don't you demand a new book or threaten legal action? She'll probably buy you a new one if you let her know you're serious.

This might seriously damage your relationship with your friend, though. So it might just be best if he replaces your book and deals with his mom on his own.
