'Underneath the Stars' and 'The Only One' particularly, are VERY Cure songs (and are reminiscent of the late 80's/early 90's Cure).Posted in: Small Utopia, where things happen

Generally, slowly, to the point of being unusable. Imagine trying to run Windows Vista on a Pentium 4 with 1 GB of RAM. It might run, but it will sputter and spin frequently on all the memory-intensive stuff that OS does. Now, Windows 7 came along and they fixed much of the abomination that was Vista in this department and so 7 might run okay on that Pentium, but again slowly (as in, lots of wait time when you open programs, etc). Not unusable, per se, but a poor user experience. If your company is based on delivering a certain kind of user experience, you would not recommend, for example, putting Windows 7 on that computer.
No one is forcing any consumer to upgrade any of their devices. Good grief.
I'm not even sure what you're expecting here, that every device is update-able in perpetuity? As far as I can find, Apple hasn't left anyone under contract with one of their phones without OS updates and support, and I think they have kept all their phones updated to the (at the time) current iOS for like three years each. Three years of software updates seems pretty good. My Droid had one.
Oh man, this drove me nuts when I had the original Droid. That thing was only on the most current Android version for like two months or something. If I recall correctly, it didn't even come with the latest version when I got it. I think it was at least two versions behind before my contract even ran out.
The other part I hated wasn't Google's problem, but lousy Verizon wasn't sending out the updates quickly even for the one or two I *could* get. It was stock Android. I don't know why there wasn't (I don't know if there is now, I don't use Android anymore as I really disliked that phone) a way for me to connect to my computer, un-jailbroken, and download straight from Google the update. I couldn't find one if it existed. That would have been nice.
When I took the Chem subject test, I used a practice book (this was in 2006, so I can't remember what it was now) that was particularly awful. The practice test was okay, but there were errors everywhere in the study section. I think I just looked over all my notes again. Did you find that there were questions on topics your undergrad didn't seem to cover? My inorganic class spent very little time on actual reactions (it was lots of group theory), and so there were a bunch of polymer questions I had no idea on. In the end it didn't matter!
Yes, agreed. I happily report I also am able to read through the mill quicker than last week.
Yeah, I agree with this. And I'll add an anecdote.
During my time as a Market Street mod, I generally didn't see a statute of limitations unless of course it was for a rule that was now in place that wasn't before. This may sound overly onerous to the bystander, but in MS consistency is everything. If you let something slide here and there, it both undermines your credibility (especially if you happen to be friendly with the person you didn't enforce the rule on) and makes it harder to justify the very strict posting confines that MS operates under. That subforum deals with specifically with monetary items and as such has always taken a hard stance on rules that might allow for abuse (which include everything from the 24 hour rule that ensures every poster has a fair shake at getting their thread noticed to rules that protect against ripping). You are expected to read and adhere to the MS rules when you post in that forum, and because of the nature of the transactions there, a uniform application of those rules is necessary.
I also agree with Madding about timing. I'd rather have it consistent like that (from offending post, with a little leeway of course - but maybe not a week or two) so that people can't 'hold back' offending posts until it maximizes damage or somesuch. Not saying that people *do* that (I assume they don't), but I'd rather they didn't even have the option!
It just didn't seem like the correct thread to see about getting an option to turn off all tag coloring. That one seems more for discussing usage of the tags and their colors, and I would, contrary to the intent of that thread, prefer to not have them in use at all (for me at least).
This is easily the most ill-informed post in this entire thread. You've clearly not spent enough time on these forums, so I'll say that you do a disservice to everyone in your new community when you paint with such a large, inaccurate brush. I am proudly a member of the gutter, and in recent past have been proudly a member of the staff. I do not use offensive language, nor swear, and still enjoy these forums. I DO NOT fit the caricature you're painting, and it bothers me that you would try to paint it onto everyone.
Many of the gutter members want MTGS to be a continually improving, transparent, and quality forum. It might be why a half dozen gutter members have been on staff in the last six months. But if this site has no reason to do what gutter members want.......
The difference, of course, being only one of your statements is true.
I don't recall experiencing the latter. Maybe it happened a long time ago.
What? Danger the gutter poses to people in real life. Seriously? That is the singularly dumbest statement, possibly ever, in regards to the gutter. The only actual danger posed to people in real life to come from these forums (not including dangers people pose to *themselves*) involved a staff member.
But thanks for the laugh, champ.
Yep, Market Street has been handling them as they come up.
