Sorry, I didn't mean you directly, but my point stands. If "someones" blue-steal deck didn't account for some disruption against their strategy then they failed at building their deck. If they have to RETOOL their deck because of 1 card they failed at building their deck. Legacy is totally different ballpark then EDH, you can't compare.

I'm not going to sit here and teach you how to build a deck or play properly, but a good start is reading bLatch's post. Don't overextend. It's simple. If the second this land comes into play and it blows out you're whole deck, you did a bad job at building it or you're playing badly.

You guys can get butthurt all you want. The fact is, good players will play around it and bad players will be complain on MTGS boards.

Not everybody plays competitive EDH. If you have a casual deck, and your opponent's casual deck can just play a colorless land and steal a couple of creatures that you reanimated, it's just irritating :-/. Its an answer that doesn't take any investment, for a huge possible payoff in pretty much any deck. It isn't the end of the world, I just think it's too much. It could end up being a non-issue in the long run, but, tell me if I'm wrong, a strong ability on a colorless land that can actively effect something that your opponent had done turns ago is extremely powerful, especially with virtually no drawback.

Seriously... i came into this thread just KNOWING that there would be whiners. yep, there they are. every strategy has some answers... and this new and innovative card just answered your strategy. now the ball's in your court to adapt or change decks. that's up to you. this does not mean it's unfair or unbalanced in any way. this is the nature of magic... new cards. new answers. adapt. change. play on!

heck, i've been a green player at heart for years. do you know how many times i've raged because all of my awesome green creatures got wrathed away? (and all other forms of mass creature destruction) seems kinda unfair that one card can kill all 3-10 of my creatures doesn't it?

It's not a wrath, its a permanent insurrection on a LAND. FOR 0.

You mean it's going to take the fun from YOU. All these biased comments because most people built a blue-steal deck and didn't tune it against ANY TYPE OF DISRUPTION.

I'll say it one more time: If your deck gets blown out by this one card, you failed hard at building your deck.

How so? It's an almost uncounterable effect, and immediately activatable. If it was cipt, or required any sort of work to use... a drawback, anything. But your opponent can just top deck it and play it without you getting any chance to do anything about it. Sure you can wrath the board away afterwards, but it's really annoying in so many ways.

Geth is not a happy camper... Geez, this is anything? So Thada and praetor's grasp are both owned by this card? And it's tutorable by expedition map? This card is just too powerful. If it was somehow worded so that it only affected cards that were stolen with an enslave or gather specimens type effect, but when your opponent can completely blow you out without having invested in the cards they are taking back, I majorly disapprove.

I fail to see how you win by paying UG to kill your own Vorinclex.

Tokens have a converted mana cost of 0, so if you sacrifice a token with Birthing Pod, you'll only be able to get a 1cc creature.

I guess I need to avoid posting late at night Slant

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since Riku's abilities start with "Whenever..." aren't they technically triggered abilities, not activated abilities (and thus not able to be copied with Rings)?

    sorry. *facepalm*

Oh and about brainstorm, I kind of wasn't thinking there too... *doublefacepalm* But there are plenty of card-draw spells that could go nice with Riku or just good in general. Mulldrifter is usually underwhelming for me when I play it in my other decks.

Lol. The guy above me says Brutalizer Exarch is way better than Primal Command. He looks like he knows what he's doing more than I do, so I'm probably missing something.

Yeah it's a bit expensive manawise but it would be sweet. I worry about having all this stuff to help out his copy ability and then he dies or I have nothing good to copy.

One way to go with this deck (and that's why I love Riku so much, you can go 10 different ways with him) is to play Doubling Season and abuse the crap out of creature tokens and Planeswalkers. Consider (and this is without Riku even involved) Sarkhan Vol coming down with a Doubling Season and a Rings of Brighthearth in play. You can ultimate immediately with 2 loyalty remaining, spend two additional mana on the rings and get TWENTY 4/4 dragons. And all those cards are good cards too that don't suck on their own.

Suggestions for cuts: Sower (dies whenever anyone does anything), Brutalizer Exarch (anti-synergetic with your general, expensive), Mulldrifter (why not play a better card draw spell, you're in blue. Brainstorm anyone? Seriously, there are better options).

Cards to keep an eye on while your playing (like, whether you'd rather have something else rather than these): Crystal Shard (too cute, does nothing w/o your general), Birthing Pod (cute, but interesting. See if you actually use it or if it sits while you do other things with your mana, cause it can turn into a tutoring aether vial), Cauldron of Souls (again, a card with cute interactions that doesn't seem to do much alot of the time), Pongify (again, a card with cute interactions with your general, but kind of meh otherwise [seeing a theme here?]), Heat Shimmer (why?), Sword of Fire and Ice (Feast and Famine seems better in this deck, considering all the ways to use mana and the lack of need for carddraw)

Cards to add: Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger (copy this and you basically win), Primal Command (so good, seems like you forgot about it. An autoinclude.)

Not sure how good it'd be, but Rings of Brighthearth seems like it would be sooooo much fun in this deck.

I as well love Flameblast Dragon, but I was trying to focus more on the "When it hits, ability" style dragons, then i got carried away with the more fun dragons.

I might switch something out for Mana Charged Dragon, but I'd like to test it out some first. After all, I think I'll get hated out pretty quick if I get to far.

I was looking through some cards and stumbled upon Hellkite Charger. Realizing how ridiculously ridiculous this card is/can be with Kaalia (attack w/ 7 mana open and double up on dragons), I feel it must be included for the kind of blowouts it can create.

Oh, and you might want to include some card draw and tone down a tad on the bombs (like maybe cut a couple and add a Phyrexian Arena or Ambition's Cost). The splashy creatures are good, but if you cut a few and add a few card-draw spells you'll be more consistent and have the same amount of splashy cards in your hand most of the time.

This deck is just awesome. Don't really know what to say beyond that, it's just pure awesome. I'd suggest Flameblast Dragon, but that's just because it's my pet card, and your deck is mana-hungry as is. Mana-Charged Dragon looks fun too, but I doubt your opponents are going to want to help you sitting across from this deck.

I just realized Edric, Spymaster of Trest fits as well. Plenty of good ideas, kinda sucks that most of them are mono-color. Angus Mackenzie is pretty interesting, can play kingmaker with it as well as save yourself. It's also WUG, good colors.

    Quote from SonOfBhaal
If you wanna get nutty, you could try playing Karona, False God and a bunch of prison-like effects in all five colors in order to force your opponents to attack each other, but not you.

Sounds fun, but there are just too many sac outlets roaming around.

The GUB deck just looks like it's cards are so much better than the cards in the other decks...Grave Pact, Avatar of Woe, Oblivion stone, Fact or Fiction, Living death, Buried Alive, Solemn Simulacrum, Eternal Witness... Like leagues above the other decks in value/power. Unfortunately, it's also the least exciting theme to me.

Totally wasn't expecting that art. Good card though, Fleshbag Marauder on steroids.
