"Thank you, and yes," Mar nods his assent to tea.

Taking the other half of the loaf, Mar settles down inside the tent before pulling out a small spoon the inner recesses of his satchel and quietly and efficiently starting consume the supper.

"These merchants seem quite nice. It is relieving to know that there are still such people on the roads," he comments.

"Drat." Von Orwell knows that he is in over his head, but then again, he always is. "B-4-5-7-4-R-D," he spits out the latters and numbers rapidfire, "A little assistance vould be nice right now. Maybe use those nice auxillary systems ov yours on ze tanks?" As he requests aid from the brotherbot, which is after all what it is there fore, he turns a sharp right back towards the roads, and momentarily wonders if he remembered to install the ejection glider before deciding it doesn't matter, as he won't find out until he either finds himself gliding through the air or he doesn't.

Mar shakes his head. "No, that is all that I had."

By now, Mar is ready to eat, and rest until the morning.

Staring straight down the barrel of the tanks and resolutely not looking at the explosion behind him, as befits a true man, the good doctor waits for one second... two se--- hard right, off the road. As he leaves the asphalt and begins to drive on dirt and grass madly avoiding the odd tree, he flips another button and the contents of the back of the van are ejected behind him. "Live, my beauties! Live, and spread!" He yells not at all madly, in the manner of a completely sane person, and if the tendrils of the plants that fall out the back seem to wave, well, it could just be the wind. Maybe. "And now that zey are safe..." he mumbles, as he turns his attention back to the tanks, attempting to drive faster than their turrets can turn.

'Hah!' Jonathon quietly exulted. Taking advantage of the birds slumber, he unhooked a pokeball, and launched it at the bird, hoping that the sleep would allow him to capture the Starly with a minimum of fuss and trouble.

Meanwhile, his Ghastly kept a lookout for other Starlies. After all, attracting the notice of a large flock would not be an ideal situation.

"Ze whirlybirds. Helicopters. Such a painf to avoid, but needs must."
Seeing the shiny odd thing in the distance, the good doktor dares to take his eyes off the empty road for a split second to gaze in curiosity, trying to see if he can identify what the likely metallic thing is, and whether he should drive on or come to a screeching halt.

Jonathon, never one to let an oppurtunity pass by, takes note that the bird is eating, and thus hopefully distracted. "Ghastly...", he murmurs as he thinks about capturing this flying pokemon, his pokemon's cue to silently float towards the bird, waiting to be noticed. and once it is noticed, in the very instant of surprise when attention is paid to it, to look into the eyes until the bird falls in and asleep in the gaze of the ghastly.

I like hypnosis. Let's try that.

Mar nods his head in agreement. "That is my view as well. While haste does make waster, in this case it is likely warranted. Any help that you could give us would be appreciated, and would likely allow us to better clear the troubles on the western border."

"Well now, let's see what that is." Jonathon flips out his new pokedex, which has somehow already managed to acquire weatherworn, beaten look, despite being relatively new, and points it towards the bird... and the worm. At the same time, the haze around him collects into a distinct ghastly, which floats slightly closer towards the two, intrigued by what they are.

"I must confess, I too had underestimated the degree to which the goblins had spread. I usually pay little mind to rumors, after all; they tend towards the outrageous and overblown."
Mar turns to Genesius. "Troubled times breed opportunities, though. Perhaps we could... help to do something about the goblins once we are done with the germs?"
Mar turns back to the caravaner. "Well, its only fair for us to explain our purpose. There is on the western border, as you may have surmised from our comments, an expanding problem, one that we have been tasked to solve. This problem has likely left the western border in need of supplies to replace those lost to the temporal intruders, but all that we know for certain is that last we heard, the problem was rather severe."

Aww, they think they can stop me with the whirlybirds. How cute.

The good doctor guns it, accellerating ever closer towards the maximum speed his vehicle can handle as the gate spins behind him, rushing down the tree-lined road towards the building that is his goal. He quickly shouts up to the robot attached to his car wha the needs to do: "Zere is a company, just outzide ze city borders, and zat company is a biotech firm. Not nearly as good as I, but. vell, they haf more people, and in mass enough people can pull together. Zey haf created a bacterial agent zat can convert ordinary building supplies to high octane oil. It is kept in zier vaults. I must acquire a sample, zen get zat sample to ze corporate headquarters ov a particular company - you haf files, I'm sure you know vich one - but now, ve must escape zese birds."

"Yes, with the current state of things, there are all sorts of dangerous people about, as I'm sure you are aware. Cautions important in these troubled times, and speaking of cautions, I don't suppose you've heard any news from the Sursi borders?."
Its not obvious, but Mar is amused by the suspicions of the Merchant.

Not quite certain where hes going, but certain that there is somewhere to be, Jonathon leaves the borders of Livian port and starts heading further inland, but doesn't get too far before realizing that he still doesnt know where hes heading. As he pulls out his pokedex and sets it to view the map, a pokeball on his belt twitches slightly. Jonathon sighs. "Fine," he says, and a nigh-invisible dispersed cloud of Gastly spreads out behind him. "I suppose you have a better idea? I thought not. Hey, a graveyard." Jonathon pauses a moment, as the Gastly says Gastly. "Why not? Maybe we'll run into someone who used to be famous there." Checking the routes it'd take to get there, Jonathon plots a route, then closes his pokedex. "Well then, let's be off."

So saying, Jonathon starts heading along the route, idly flipping a coin as he goes.

"Oh, I was just leaving," Jonathon says to the trainer who just entered, before briefly turning to the professor. "Thanks for the help." Jonathon nods his head to both of them, then leaves - he doesn't want to be a bother, and he's already gotten what he came for.

"Hmph. Vell, if zat is ze hand I am dealt..." Orwell guns it. He accelerates straight towards the floating gate. As the accelerometer creeps upwards towards the maximum, which in this car has helpfully been labelled 'Ramming Speed', Von Orwell grins maniacally and slams the red button. With the gate floating and the button pushed, he thinks that either he'll end up pushing a heavy gate ahead of him as he blindly charges down the road, or it'll spin around the horizontal axis as he passes through, leaving a spinning gate of doom for those who try pursuit for as long as it is within range of the Brotherbot. And either way, it's fine with him.
