Although it took a lot of guts to cut my favorite black card (Profane Command), I think this build is a little better because it's faster (Thoughtseize and Bitterblossom come out before the LD) and it doesn't have to worry about any color fixing. 2nd turn LD would be nice, but 3rd turn is just as good vs Cryptic Command (which this deck easily achieves thanks to Mind Stone).
Adding deck tags takes another couple of seconds. And it also helps everyone's eyes from exploding. If you don't know how to do it, it's that little button on the top there. Second from the right? Just highlight the deck and click it. It'll save everyone a lot of hassle.
I never got why this deck doesn't use flamebreak. It would seem really good around now with all the elf and 5c get there decks.
The purpose of the card would seem to be cheap mass removal. Pyroclasm or Cave-In would appear to do the job a little cheaper. Or maybe I'm missing something too?
If I drop Jhoira of the Ghitu and then proceed to suspend multiple spells, do I get to pick the order in which they resolve once they are no longer suspended, or do they resolve simultaneously.
When I play an Opalescence and, say, a Parallax Wave (or any other enchantment), the Opalescence makes the Wave a creature. What is the Wave's creature type? How is the Wave affected by cards such as Coat of Arms?
Gaddock Teeg is awesome against QnT and 5cc. The only thing you have to worry about is them siding in deathmark and the charm that put a creature at the bottom of your library. Theoretically, it is good at holding off your opponent.
I think sideboards should run 4x Guttural Response when facing QnT and 5cc. The major problem I had was getting everything countered. I hate those decks so much. They aren't original and take no skill whatsoever to use:mad:
You are so right! The fact that all these little kids with mommy's credit card can just buy all the rare lands they want and then throw in any freakin spell in Standard is absurd. I take no greater pleasure than whomping on a 5cc player. In fact, I built my MBC deck (listed in the sticky) with the sole intention of beating 5cc.
I've been running an MBC build that focuses on land-destruction and spot-removal. It can consistently drop LD spells on turn 3, and there's usually enough removal to clear out any potential threats. Here's my list:
3 Graveborn Muse
4 Thoughtseize
4 Bitterblossom
4 Mind Stone
4 Unmake
3 Infest
4 Rain of Tears
4 Drain the Well
2 Poison the Well
2 Mutavault
20 Swamp

3 Profane Command
2 Corrupt
2 Dread
4 Mind Stone

Lands (25):
3 Leechridden Swamp (counts as a Swamp)
3 Mutavault
19 Swamp
Only thing I haven't decided is whether or not to run four Drains and two Poisons because my local metagame is heavy on the RDWs.
