Feb 4, 2014Red Hot Pancakes posted a message on Launch Giveaway! My favorite magic card is Debtors' Knell. Great art, perfect flavor text, super game-breaking effect. But really I just like the image of all those creatures trudging out of their graves. You've got promises to keep and miles to go before you sleep.Posted in: Announcements

Quick thoughts:
Adding in a second Eternal Witness has been really good for the grindier matches.
I switched Primeval Titan for Broodmate Dragon. Prime Time was just too bad against things like StP and Liliana.
I don't like Dryad Militant in the board at all, but I can't think of a better option against Storm that I can GSZ for early enough to matter.
What do you think?
He's probably worse, but I thought it was worth a little testing.
First, I think you probably want 2 Bayou, 1 Taiga, 1 Badlands (Needing a single land for both Veteran Explorer and Cabal Therapy is usually your concern when fetching up duals over basics.) And I'd add in Phyrexian Tower.
Also, I doubt you'll need the 2nd Scavenging Ooze main board. It's really only there so you don't auto-lose to Past in Flames and reanimator, and it's going to be GSZ in either way. I'm also not a fan of Garruk or Maelstrom Pulse. What is Maelstrom Pulse hitting?
In there place, I've really like Thrun, the Last Troll and Kessig Wolf Run. You could probably also do with upping your Punishing Fire or Sensei's Divining Top counts.
Here's what I played
4 Stinkweed Imp
4 Golgari Thug
4 Shambling Shell
4 Ichorid
4 Phantasmagorian
4 Narcomoeba
4 Nether Shadow
3 Chancellor of the Annex
4 Street Wraith
1 Flayer of the Hatebound
3 Balustrade Spy
1 Memnite
4 Dread Return
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Unmask
3 Faerie Macabre
2 Noxious Revival
1 Chancellor of the Annex
4 Sickening Shoal
1 Contagion
I beat Goblins, Burn, Esper Stoneblade, and Reanimator (a nice mix I think!) And in the Burn matchup, I won a game by comboing out with Balustrade Spy at 5 life, where Griselbrand would have killed me.
Oh, and guys, I wouldn't be playing Gut Shot to deal with Deathrite Shaman...he's got 2 toughness...
Also, Dismember is an excellent tool against Twin decks and extra hate against things like Vamps and tough creatures like Phyrexian Crusader.
On the draw. Opponent cracks a fetch and casts Gitaxian probe. You respond with 4xArchive Trap...
You've won before your first upkeep.
