    Will do!

In fact I found a tournament report he wrote on our local boards. I'll share it with you guys.

    Round 1Tim Sussino Red/Blue Polymorph

    Game 1
Started slow with a little life gain score is 27-18 me when he drops Stone Idol trap to block my Kabira.
On his turn he swings with the trap then sacks it to polymorph into Iona naming white. he has double goblin assault and I'm ☺☺☺☺ed.
I drop Ondu on my turn going to 19. On his turn he swings with Iona and several tokens putting me to 7. I topdeck Rite and copy Iona.
His next attack puts me to 1 and I topdeck another ondu and get there from the life gain.

    Game 2
Close start he could'nt kill harabaz or Excavator so I turn 5 mill him with a kicked Rite.

    1-0

Round 2 Jared Serrano Jund finished 34th

    Game 1
Aggro affair ended with unblocked Hada and Kazandu due to Kabira.

    Game 2
I had a very large sideboard for Jund and I think it just slowed me down.
I gained a lot of life early and kept drawing non offensive stuff and died

    Game 3
Started fast getting him to 10 on turn 3 then his removal killed everything I had. He then Blightninged me 3 turns in a row! ☺☺☺☺ing A yes I said 3!!
Slow painful dopdeck of land 3 turns in a row and I lost.

    1-1

Round 3 Roy M Jones Jund Finished 361

    Game 1
Gained 35 life through game and Evangel was the champ.

    Game 2
Not even a game he got mana screwed and I won turn 5.

    2-1

Round 4 Dustin Sendejas Naya Finished 70
    First Feature Match

    Game 1
He wasn't running any removal so this was a race. I beat him down to 6 while gaining to 28 when he dropped his first baneslayer. He swung with it 3 straight turns with a hierarch going to 23 and saving a knight of the reliquary to block with when I dropped a Kabira and was able to swing for 24. 1 over fatal.

    Game 2
Gained a ☺☺☺☺ ton of life letting him beat on me with 2 baneslayers and just out aggroing his lifegain.

    3-1

Round 5 James Lodge Jund Finished 202
    Second Feature Match
Bill Stark writes better than I do, read his report!

    4-1

Round 6 Todd Schreier Blue/White Control Finished 26
Third Feature Match in a row this one on Video
    Game 1
Watch me punt the Misty Rainforest Like a Douche

    Game 2
Mull to 4 one land. Only one I saw. YAY

    4-2

Round 7 Jack K Fisher Vampires

    Game 1
Most fun I had in a match. I start with a Freeblade it dies next Kazandu same thing. I then drop a Kabira into a Gatekeeper next turn a paladin into another gatekeeper. Wee! Turn 5 I drop an Ondu Cleric and Harabaz Druid. Turn 6 a Seagate Loremaster and a rite on Ondu. Turn Seven Rite kicked on Ondu going to 301. with no offense mind you. He drops Nocturnus and can't kill the Loremaster On my turn I draw a Hada and play it then tap my master for 10 cards at this point I have a Yugioh life total. in my draw was a excavator and 5 other allies mill 11,12,13,14,15 Nice game.

    Game 2
Super Curve Hada Kazandu Kabira Talus. Nice Game.

    5-2

At this point the other 4 people I rode with had already dropped and were a great cheering section for my next opponent. Long day with 1 $5.25 Hot Dog

Round 8 Scott Kasliner Finished 14

    Game 1
I have 3 excavators in my opening hand turn 4 mill.

    Game 2
Very Quick beat down to 5 then the DOJ ouch. He gets Jace and then double Baneslayer.

    Game 3
Same as game 2 except 3 Baneslayers

Overall a great Experience and I am going to start attending more large events.

My wife went 2-5 with the same deck and refuses to do a report.
Her first round opponent got beat by Lindy in the Final

Ok. We'll wait for Zind's flavor. But do you really think it will change anything?

I like this plan. I think Vigging bman is probably the better route. Based on Zind's post 369. I'll Vig bman, you track Toast. Hope this works.

I will say that no where on my PM is the word "Vigilante". But, either way, I have to agree that Gamerz is in trouble.

This game's over. The claiming stops now. vote: Gamerz.

Both Gigas and Gamerz are scum. I am truly having trouble believing that Gamerz is a tracker and somehow stood idly by while Skander claimed the same role. It boggles the mind. It is simply too far out the scope of what any townie would do to be truthful.

Both of them have screwed up their claims - vanillas are obviously infrareds in this game - and the only question remaining is whether or not F4E is a SK or not, but knowing what I know about my own role, I really doubt he is.

I also find this sort of odd. I think we should at least let him explain why he didn't counter-claim Skander or tell us he was roleblocked.

It seems everyones in and most had me at the top of their list, so I'll start.

I am Red Citizen GA34323 aka. the town Vig.

On night 1: I killed AI. He started acting a bit scummy towards the end of day 1. He was also the first to actually target KoZ. Later withdrawing his vote to make it look like he wasn't on the wagon that killed a townie.

On night 2: I killed Skander. His argument with Ace was enough to ensure he was scum. He lied about his tracker ability when Ace turned up Vanilla. And lynch all liars was in effect.

I know Toast said scum are going to counter-claim Vig. And most of you suspect me, so their is a bit of flavor I'm going to hold back for when somebody counter-claims to try and prove my innocence. But, that is my entire game related ability.

Hmm, just did a massive re-reading of D1. Really opened my eyes to a lot of what I missed, especially reading it in light of knowing that Skander is scum. In light of the re-reading, and one more thing I'm gonna mention below, I'm gonna re-arrange my scum list a little. It's gonna look like this:

    1. F4E
    2. Gigas
    3. Toastboy
    4. Zindabad
    5. bman
    6. Gamerz

I know it seems like a pretty big bump down considering how much I've been harping on Zind, but most of my suspicion was based on what Zind was saying...I wasn't really taking Mystic into account at all. Now that I've done that, I feel that Mystic, in light of everything that happened in D1, feels very town to me, and I'm gonna write off some of my Zind suspicions as just 'Zind being Zind' (particularly when it comes to being exaggeratively confident in his tells). Part of that reason also comes because of other reads I've gotten from D1 like my increasing suspicion towards F4E.

I can also see what you were getting on about, Zind, in reference to Toastboy, and re-reading D1, I can see where your suspicions come from. He almost seems to be trying too hard to keep the wagon on KoZ going, and I have to admit that waffling on the Ace vs. Skander debate does not necessarily mean that he's town either. I still think he seems more townie than scummy on D2, mostly because the observations and reasons he uses for not wanting to vote Ace seem like the kind of observational town kind, and not the 'trying to make up an excuse' kind, but that could very well be WIFOM-y anyways, and I can see why it would be a good play as scum to not go after Skander if it's possible to get him lynched without actually voting for him.

It's funny how different things can look when you look at them again in a different light than the last time.

You understood the analysis, it made some sense, and then you put Zind up at the top of your scum list. Why?

It seemed like you and Zind were clashing, so I put you two on top figuring one of you for scum.

The post opened my eyes a lot when it comes to claiming. I understood why that might be a good thing now. Before I was basically against it because I didn't understand.

Yes, we traded 1:1 after a scum faked a power role. That's a great trade. We should do it more often.

Basics have certain patterns of roles, due to the fact that relatively few roles exist in basics, and all of them are stock (that is, not invented or tweaked).

I talked a little bit earlier about the cop/doc issue currently a talking point among game designers, and I'll go into more detail about that now. Basic games usually involve a combination of cop, doc, and a third power role, often a one-shot vig. As of late, the cop/doc combo has come under scrutiny, and hosts seem to be taking measures to weaken its potency by downgrading one of the roles (see Basic #2, where the town had no doc but had a roleblocker, or Basic #4, where again there was no doc) or coming up with alternate setups.

Nevertheless, the range of roles is a very limited one. I will be happy to give you a run-down of every pro-town power role ever in a basic game so far:

    #1: Cop/Doc/One-shot vig
    #2: Cop/Watcher/Roleblocker
    #3: Ooze/Doc/Cop
    #4: Cop/One-shot vig
    #5: Cop/Doc/Deputy Cop
    #6: Cop/Doc/Hunter

The less common roles here are Ooze (if anyone targets it during the night, everyone will know who did during tomorrow's day scene) and Hunter (when lynched, makes a one-shot kill.) The standard pool of roles for all factions in a noob game is Cop/Doc/One-shot vig/Tracker/Watcher/Roleblocker/Godfather/Masons/Survivor/Serial Killer.

Now, analyzing the above setups, I'm sure we will all immediately realize what role is present in all of them: the cop. Skander's claim had me thinking we might not have one, and we haven't seen a claim yet, which means that if we have one, he hasn't hit scum. But at this stage a cop claim of solely innocent investigations will be a big help for the town, so if he's out there, it's time to come forward.

Likewise the doc. Claimed docs always have targets on their heads, but at LyLo, that can be to our advantage. If both our doc and cop are still alive, the scum must take out the doc (or risk the WIFOM trap of shooting the cop in the hope he won't be protected), giving the cop a chance to give us one more investigation. That is, assuming the scum don't have a roleblocker - and by the way, if anyone has been roleblocked so far, it's time for him to come forward.

My point is that although keeping information to ourselves is optimal as townies during the game, at LyLo it has to all come out. There can't be any worrying about exposing our power roles and losing them overnight: if we don't lynch scum today there won't be a tonight. So we must go all-out to catch a scum and take it from there when we resume tomorrow.

Our power roles claiming will reduce the possible scum players by up to 3, leaving us with a pool of only three to lynch from, two of which are almost certainly scum. This can only be a good thing. And I would like to see the scum start to claim power roles, considering they still don't know anything about what we have in reserve, which could lead to easy counter-claims and caught scum.

To that end, I propose the following: every one of us should post his preferred order of claiming, whether or not you agree that we should mass claim. We will then create a claim list that everyone can be satisfied with, with scummiest players to claim first (thus increasing the probability that they will claim something we actually have so we can counter-claim them) and towniest to claim last.

    I'll start us off:
    1. F4E
    2. Gamerz
    3. Toastboy
    4. bman
    5. Gigas1
    6. zin

Thank you for this post. It was very helpful to someone like me who hasn't played this game before. I understood a lot of the analysis and it made some sense.

    My list would be:
    1. Zindabad
    2. Gamerz
    3. Toastboy
    4. bman
    5. Gigas1
    6. Me.

And like I said, I'm down for a mass claim as long as everyone else is also.

I'm still halfway unsure about the mass-claim idea. It will either win or definitevly lose us the game. I would like to hear what toastboy has to say about the recent goings on.

Having reviewed everything, I believe it's now time for a mass claim. There are 6 players remaining. The only townies to have died so far were infrared (apparently vanilla) townies, meaning all of our power is intact. We should now be able to narrow down the scum to 3 players by claiming our 3 power roles, and make our choice from that pool. If we do have a full vig, we probably win outright tonight.

I half way like this idea. A good plan to help us win the game. The only reason I'm a bit skeptical is because I've always heard that extra info. only helps the mafia. What if we all claim, lynch a townie because the mafia counter-claimed, then the mafia can NK our Vig. and we lose?

On the other hand, if we get the claim game right, we win. I suppose I'm up for it if everyone else is.

I've thought Ace was scum since before he was even Ace and I still do. Your explanations weren't good enough for me, Ace. Sorry.
