Rats is just an awkward, tempo losing play in my experience. Usually aggro decks play past turn 4 and wiping X/2s isn't a total game ender. Aggro has X/3+s, burn, equipment, etc. Helpful against hexproof guys, and could be worth keeping because of that, but we tend to run 3+ colors, especially in control, so producing three or four black mana is pretty unreasonable. I don't run a lot of raise dead effects, so I can see how it would be better in a cube that does.
I miss posting here. I feel like I've given the new site plenty of time but it's just so heinous. I'm way beyond "I hate change" territory now. It's just absolutely impossible on a mobile phone, it's ugly, and it loads so slow. Every time I come here I end up leaving because it's so awful. Oh, well.
I must be the only guy who has been able to attack with all the various 3/3s that can turn up in the cube and win games? I know it isn't normal limited but a decent body can do a lot of work.
You seem to be suggesting you'd maindeck a vanilla 3/3 for 4 in a cube draft, but I must be misunderstanding you. What point are you making exactly?
I don't get why people would cube this. It can improve your draft but it can also do absolutely nothing. Cube packs are so good that I would never p1p1, I would only pick it from a pack with nothing I wanted instead of hate drafting. It just doesn't seem that good.
reassembling skeleton doesn't specify. I think as long as the ability is worded such that it's obvious where you're activating it, you don't need the extra text. The ability states you exile from the graveyard (the word other makes this clear) so the additional wording "activate this ability only if ~ is in your graveyard" isn't needed.
Storm Phalanx1R
Creature — Human Soldier (R)
Haste Inspired — Whenever Storm Phalanx becomes untapped, it deals 2 damage to target creature or player.
2/1
yeah, no. not remotely printable. as a 1/1 with haste that deals 1 damage? definitely. as a 2/1 without haste that deals 1 damage? that's maybe barely printable.
Lightning Guide1R
Creature - Goblin Shaman
When ~ enters the battlefield put a 3/1 red elemental creature token with haste on the battlefield. Sacrifice the creature at the beginning of the next end step.
2/2
also not printable. i'm thinking this could be printed at 2R, though. maybe. would definitely not be a 2/2 for that cost, though. even at RR, getting a 3 power hasty attacker + a 2/2 blocker seems like too much.
I think it's useful to think of him as an ophidian variant like eidolon said. With no evasion and 2 toughness, he's not gonna make my 360, even at a reduced cost.
Love the design but it's gotta be Scry 2 (think Magma Jet as a basis for cost-to-power). We all know Helix as [color A][color B] for 3 damage is fine.
The logic here is inconsistent. You're looking at a monored card for evidence that scry 3 is too much, but you're looking at a gold card for evidence that 3 damage is ok. Obviously you can get a stronger effect from a gold card, and blue is notably stronger with scry than red. Additionally, symmetry is something they do consider. And they wouldn't add U to magma jet and increase the damage but not the scry. That's just odd. So I think scry 3 is more likely.
So they can just tap the land not to lose it? It certainly doesn't help against man-lands or spell-lands. I'd rather it did something more impacting than that.
I take it you don't play force spike or mana leak.

i really dig this, but i don't know if wizards would print it. because it's temporary maybe it would be ok.
so this just looks silly broken.
Do you have a ruling you can quote? I'm pretty sure that's not at all true.
