I play mono-red a lot (as my name would suggest). My favorite secret-tech card happens to be Deathforge Shaman, and I'm kind've surprised that it isn't listed. Few things can grab a surprise win like 30 damage straight to the dome after the guy to your right just alpha-struck the guy to your left. He's relatively inexpensive at 4R, and if you happen to be playing mono-red, he's an absolute blowout when combined with mana doublers like Gauntlet of Power and Caged Sun, and a little time.
So, my buddies and I have decided that Tamanoa is too cool not to use as a build-around me general. Being that I have decided to pursue this deck, how would you, the community, go about building it? Suggestions?
I'd like to build around the general if I can, but I also have a competitive drive in EDH, and like to build powerful, efficient decks.
Karthus player takes 39 and dies, Rhys player takes 91 and dies, and we all laugh hysterically at the ridiculous amount of damage I was able to deal for a single R.
All I'd really like to see changed is more multiplayer-oriented stuff from Wizards, as well as more goodies for red. Because I really, REALLY like Mono-R Burnination
I've run Deathforge Shaman with great success in my Heartless Hidetsugu deck. People don't usually see him coming, and after they've spent their answers it's a great way to instantly destroy one opponent (or the last opponent) in Mono-R.
For the most part, I end up being the villain whenever I play EDH with my buddies. Sometimes, this is completely justified (like when I murder the table from out of nowhere, and then they try to prevent it the next game), but other times it's just straight up spiteful (first game of the night, and they knock me out of the game when I'm missing land drop after land drop and not playing anything). Also, sometimes I can convince another player at the table to help me out, which ends in me murdering errybody. So yeah, our table can get pretty hostile, and it's usually pointed my way.
I was thinking about building this deck (Black/Red), but I'm not sure how to go about it. I was thinking Goblin/Ogre support for the demonic armies, with Blood Speaker and such pulling lots of weight. Either Kaervek the Merciless or Rakdos, the Defiler as general.
So, how would you do it? Any and all suggestions welcome!
Personally, I would recommend red, mostly because of my pet card Shared Animosity[/CARD]. This card is THE NUTS. It effectively squares your damage based on the number of shared-type tokens you're attacking with (2 tokens, 4 damage, 4 tokens, 16 damage, etc.), and with cards like Rise of the Hobgoblins, Storm Herd, or Conquerer's Pledge, it's easy to create a ton of tokens, and then blow people up with them.
I think my best use of the enchantment went something like this:
I was playing with my buddies (U/B Wrexial beats, U/R Niv-Mizzet), and Wrexial had me down below 5 life, with Lorthos and some other fatties out. Niv was mana screwed. I had enough mana to play Firecat Blitz for 10 with Shared Animosity out. I killed Niv with the attack (10 10/1's), and then I played Soulblast, targeting Wrexial (100 direct damage). It felt good
Mostly, I would focus less on spells that produce tokens, and more on creatures that produce tokens. Also, generating metric tons of green mana with Kamahl always leads to a dead table of opponents. Remember that if you can produce a pile of tokens every turn, eventually your enemies will run out of sweepers and die the following turn. If you really can't wait, try Concordant Crossroads too.

Thanks for any help at all that I receive!
Yeah, I'm that guy with only one deck. Haters gonna hate.
ALSO: Mono Red 4 life.
Two opponents, Rhys the Redeemed and Karthus, Tyrant of Jund... Karthus had Broodmate Dragon with token and Balefire Dragon, Rhys had a bunch of tokens, Rhys, and Living Hive. My board consisted of a few artifacts, Repercussion, and Inferno Titan. Both opponents were tapped out, everybody was between 15 and 30 life. GUESS WHAT I TOPDECKED?
That's right.
The one, the only, Blasphemous Act.

Good times.
Maybe I should stop playing generals like Heartless Hidetsugu and Kamahl, Fist of Krosa
Tezzeret the Seeker is Tourette's.
When somebody attacks somebody else, the defending player usually shouts "they want my jibbly bits, Dave!" No particular reason for that one.

Case in point: play red.
-Primeval Titan (because hey, he's awesome)
-Mana Reflection/Gauntlet of Power/Vernal Bloom
-Squall Line (for when you absolutely need to murder that flyer/draw the game)
-Hornet Queen
-Verdeloth the Ancient
-Eternal Witness (might also consider something like Elixir of Immortality)
-Green Sun's Zenith/Chord of Calling
-Harmonize/Dreamstone Hedron/Tower of Fortunes (with so much mana, why *not* draw extra cards?!?)
-Kodama's Reach/Explosive Vegetation
-maybe Doubling Cube, if you feel like you need EVEN more mana
Mostly, I would focus less on spells that produce tokens, and more on creatures that produce tokens. Also, generating metric tons of green mana with Kamahl always leads to a dead table of opponents. Just my thoughts!
