Also, maybe I'm just superstitious, but a pawn shop seems like a rough place to buy an engagement/wedding ring from. Any other jewelry, sure, but it seems kind of...I dunno, cursed maybe for that kind of thing.

Depends on your perspective. I've been married for almost 10 years now, and reused the engagement ring I bought for a prior finance. That ring brought nothing but happiness into this world. My original finance was the happiest women in the world when I proposed, and I was the happiest man in the world when she gave it back to me after we broke up. (It cost $10K in 2001.)

To the original poster, if your finance is telling you she doesn't care, then just get a plain gold (or platinum) wedding band. They are timeless and elegant and roughly $1K.

I'd also be leery of buying a diamond (or other precious stones) without a solid connection. Family friend, or another insider who you completely trust.

I'd consider them MP. Earlier this year I sold a set of HP, we're talking beat but "sleeve playable" 3 x $74 and 1 x $80. I'd say you should be able to get around $80 each given that they are $90-$95 on tcgplapyer and $100 an SCG.

I'd recommend just selling your cards and buying what you want in a separate transaction. You can always just sell you cards and give "credit" to what you want (I'd suggest 85% of TCG as a decent starting point).

I can also confirm that the Hasbro rep I talked to said that any orders over one would be cancelled.

    1) It is 100% a different card. Not even debatable. The wear on the back of the card is completely different from the photo.

    2) He used the same photo for all three copies of his card. Might not have been intentional, but it's still an issue.

    3) Figure out what you want as restitution. Full refund? $20 back?

    4) If you are unable to reach a deal with the seller, just submit a claim through eBay (mention that the seller used the same photo for all three copies of the card and he sent you a different copy), and eBay will side with you.

    5) Good luck!

SCG is buying them for $125, and selling NM ones for $200. Significantly higher than a month or two ago.

But I have some questions bugging me. #1, how well do Business majors with MBAs from fairly average schools fare in the job market? I'll try my best to get into a better MBA program after graduation, but I want to stick to what I know I will have. So essentially, I'm pretty much asking whether or not having an MBA will land me a job (assuming a good GPA, good recs, 3-4 years of relevant work experience).

No, an MBA will not help you land a job. At this point in your career, getting an MBA from an average school would be a waste of time and money. Under the circumstances you've described, getting an MBA straight after undergrad would be a big mistake.

Your best bet is likely to graduate with a degree (in whatever you choose), get a job and work you way up to "middle management". At that point (4-10 years down the road), you should be able to get into the part-time/executive program at a top-tier program. Also, your company may even pick up the tab.

FWIW, I've got an MBA from a top program.

It's 100% HP. If its sleeve playable, then you can sell it for $40 here.

I'm in a situation where a baby is on the way and I will just have to not play Magic for a while. I was hoping for some advice on how to cope with how I feel about it without it negatively effecting our marriage, but it's not looking like that's a possibility.

As someone who's been where you are (two little kids ages 4.5 and 2), I can tell you what I've learned.
    1) Life will be very, very hard for you and your wife right after the baby is born. While the baby will be dependent on your wife, you can earn major brownie points by doing everything you can to take care of the baby in the middle of night, etc. etc.
    2) Be the absolute best father/husband that you can be. If you take care of your baby, let your wife rest up, get the house ready, etc. Then she will not care what you do with your free time.
    3) Please, please feel free to contact me via pm (or on this thread) and I'll be happy to help as best I can.

    Take care,

    Yori

I've used SCG, CapeFearGames, and StrikeZoneOnline. Also a number of individual sellers here on mtgs. I use any vendor who has a history (with me) of delivering the cards I buy (or pre-order) in a timely manner.

I've sold cards to just about every major vendor. I stick with those who have a reasonable grading policy, good communication and solid prices.

Live in Chicago, so yes it's snowing.

Really depends on 1) how much you enjoy selling cards and 2) how much you value your time.

Stores get roughly 85% of tcglow for singles (they pay 15% in fees). If you sell to buy lists or list your cards here, you should be able to get 70% of tcg prices (dependent on condition) pretty easily (as EDH/modern/standard staples move quickly). If you sell your 500-1000 card collection all at once (based on the info you've provided), you'll get no more than 50%, because whoever buys it will just flip it.

If you want other mtg/gaming stuff, then you should 100% sell to stores and use the credit on stuff you want.

Anyways, if you've got other questions, just ask.

So I am just wondering what every who has stated that they are interested in buying a box thinks the price will be. We know that a box will have 24 packs and at msrp of 6.99 thats 167 and some change. Seeing as this is going to be absolutely sold out asap just about everywhere would it be to far fetched to assume a box will be 200 to 250 for pre-orders?

Assuming the print run is comparable to Commander, I'd expect $150/box ($6 pack).

I had a super long post all typed up to explain my unhappiness about this "expansion". I decided the tl;dr version was better:

I have a playset of all the modern staples, because I've played standard faithfully for many years. I invested a lot of time and money to get them. I'm worried that the value of the bulk of my collection is about to drop significantly because of all the potential reprints.

Is it insane to e-bay all my modern staples before they get spoiled and re-buy them after their price drops?

In the interview, Aaron stressed multiple times that this would be "limited" and that they were concerned about the effect on the secondary market. The booster packs will cost twice as much as normal.

At a minimum you should wait until Monday to see what Aaron's article says.

Other than Elves v. Goblins, I've bought (and will buy) every WOTC non-random mtg product that's been released in the last ten years (FTV, duel decks, planechase I & II, archenemy, commander, etc.) for (at least) MSRP. If I really wanted the singles, I'd buy two, one to crack and one to hold.

It's much easier to get an interview if you already know someone at the company you are interested in. (This is referred to as "networking").
