Just wondering if there are any policies or possibilities for merging threads? I've started a tournament announcement forum to promote some tournaments and registered a new account to manage all of the tournament things.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks a lot,

    This should be awesome.

I pretty much think I'm just going to preorder 4 of them.. Depends on what's going in it of course. The smart thing to do with these things seems to be to preorder as many as possible and then make some bank to generate more money for magic cards!

    Never a bad thing.

Anyways, despite the art looking like Conservator, I have to say it's probably Nev's Disk..

    --

I've always hoped they'd make a non-tournament legal promo set that put together the most powerful cards into one card, like the split cards from Ravnica.

Fire / Ice, meet Chalice / Explosives.

    That's a pipe dream though..

I threw this deck together finally and have been playtesting it solo and enjoy it and all, but I'm a little unsure about how good Jitte is. It just seems like I always would rather play a creature out of my hand..

Then again, there aren't too many 2-drops running around in the deck, especially in the mono-white version.

What do you guys think about Jitte? It's in like every single decklist I've seen, so I trust it's inclusion, but I'm still skeptical.

It does definitely help against the zoo matchup..

Obe, refer to Fluke's comment about playing the counter deck, his insights are spot-on.

Also, Words of Wind is -incredible-. When you're playing Legacy you can't afford to just be in a Solitary Confinement lock and say go, it doesn't win you the game.

And here's the situation with the "combo": 2x Enchantress Effects + Words of Wind + 1 Enchantment in hand = opponent has no permanents left on his board. By turn 3 you should be have enough 1cc enchantments out to sufficiently bounce the opponents board out.

Please explain how you can win without Words of Wind in just as safe a manner?
Words of Wind online with opponents stuff bounced also lets you crack your Sterling Grove to search for a win condition and draw it to your hand.

And another important thing about counter spells:

If you have an Enchantress in play and you play an enchantment and they counter it, you still draw cards from the Enchantress' ability, even if the spell doesn't resolve.

How do you own blue control that much as they just have to counteur the argothian and the enchantress presence to make you cry ?
playing more city of solitude seems to be the only solution against heavy counter decks.

How do you handle countertops as well ? This combo is very common in tournament nowadays.

I am really not sure about the blue splash as it forces to play more dual lands which makes the deck more vulnerable to wasteland or any land distruction card. Especially with the 7 to 8 mana boosts (wild growth and utopia) it is a major problem.

I personally have an easy time playing against mono-blue control because the deck is so slow. There are so many threats in Enchantress that really hurt mono-blue that most players aren't sure of the best thing to counter. There are Essentially 16 threats in my Enchantress deck that need to be countered:

Just play your cards smart and let them counter everything, they'll run out of counters and by the time they even have lethal damage ready for you the game will be over.

The sideboard tech against blue control is Multani's Presence, which I've never lost a game with if it resolves, and it's one of those cards that you sideboard in and almost mulligan down to just to cast on turn 1.

This isn't to say that you don't lose, and that the matchup is extremely tipped in favor of Enchantress, because sometimes you don't get the cards and that's that, but I would say it's about 60/40 Enchantess pre-sideboard, 75/25 post. (Siding in City of Solitude and Multani's Presence)

    =====

The blue splash is absolutely essential for Enchantress in my opinion. I would never ever expect anyone to run a good Enchantress deck without Words of Wind, it lets you combo off way earlier and more consistently. I could see cutting the red out and leaving behind Words of War, which is a fun win condition and has won me some games, but I'm thinking about Brain Freeze or Stroke of Genius instead. (Preferably Brain Freeze, because with Words of Wind out and the combo going, the opponent will have no permanents on the board but they theoretically could be holding a Force of Will for the Stroke of Genius, but Brain Freeze gets through still with the storm. And a storm count of even 20 is so easy to get to with Words of Wind online.

I'll post my decklist shortly, still tweaking a little bit.

    More soon,
    -Zack

Yeah, it works as many times as you can pay G, buy paying G isn't a problem at all with Enchantress, I guess it depends on your style of play..

I maindeck 3x Words of Wind and 4x Sterling Groves, and 1x Words of War, so I'm very used to playing the tricks with bouncing permanents and it's really really good, it's the combo that lets Enchantress win the game, or set it up to win the next turn and have the opponent have no permanents on the field with Solitary Confinement online. Oh, and I maindeck 4x Exploration as well.

And having 2x draw effects, a land that taps for green, and Exploration is totally possible with Enchantress, and usually is on the board.. =)

I've played Enchantress for a while and I always get good results, the deck usually combos out on turn 4 unless I have to slow play around a deck that I don't have a good matchup against.

Enchantress pretty much owns Blue control, any aggro deck, burn, anything really. It's rock-solid and can adapt to any metagame with ease. I'm in love with the deck.

Hey everyone, I'm back for some more Enchantress talk, and I've read the thread and read through some of the lists and things are looking pretty good.

Here's some insights I have, and my Enchantress deck has been posting fantastic results.

    1) Try and -not- play any cards that aren't Enchantments (or Argothian), and don't run Enchantments that have a possibility of not being able to be cast (such as Journey to Nowhere). You don't want to slow down the draw power because that is what wins you the game.

    2) Play BLUE! PLAY Blue. It is the most powerful archetype for this deck, and it allows the deck to go nearly infinite and draw itself out into a win condition and a lock. I personally play a 4-color Enchantress, splashing 2x Taiga and 1x Words of War for a win condition. Words of Wind + Serra's Sanctum + Exploration = Essentially a never-ending torrent of cards in your hand, and plenty and plenty of mana to boot.

    3) Chrome Mox is -fantastic- in this deck as a land replacement, turn 1 Enchantress makes it completely possible to combo out and win on turn 3.

    4) Don't be afraid to mulligan away your hands down to 5! The draw engine is insane in this deck, and as long as you aren't playing blue control or black discard, it's fine to go down to 5 to make sure you get an Enchantress out on turn 2. I've mulligan'd to 4 before and won the game because I resolved a turn 2 Argothian.

    5) Sylvan Library is another great card, often lets you combo out a turn earlier and works well with the "Words of..." cards if you don't have a draw engine going. Only issue with this card is that it doesn't really work out too well with Solitary Confinement, haha. My thoughts on that situation is that if you have a Solitary Confinement out, you should not lose the game.

    6) Oblivion Ring is a possibility, not currently in my decklist because it's one mana too costly, but it's a monster.

    7) Elephant Grass shuts down -so- many decks and it is an insanely powerful card for it's cost. Here's what it slaughters: Goblins, Zoo, ANY Black Aggro Deck, Charbelcher, N.O. Progenitus, Rock, etc. -- At only 1 green to cast with an easy upkeep to pay (especially considering you should be done with it by turn 3) it's an absolute must in my opinion. It slows down so many decks, oh, and did I mention it hurts mono-blue control quite a bit?

    8) Sideboard against counter-heavy control decks? If your meta has a bunch of blue control decks in it, throw a set of Multani's Presence in your sideboard, and they have no shot at winning.

I'll work on putting my deck list up here once I have some more time to get my deck and fix a couple of little things in it

    I really like FoxBat's idea.

    ETBT
    T: add R
When a source you control deals damage to an opponent, ~ becomes a 5/2 creature with trample until end of turn.

This has some affinity to quests.

This is a neat idea. 5/2 is a little much, but something along those lines.

    Manlands are coming for sure.

Foils: Some of my foils haven't bended after owning them for years, and I've already got some Zendikar foils that are starting to bend.. I'm not sure what makes this happen, tons and tons of different factors I'm sure.. I also have met someone who had THE shiniest foil cards I've ever seen, and I asked him about it and he just said he made an all-foil deck once just to play with in the sun, so maybe that made a difference?

    ---

About the Slivers deck and Wizards selling "too much product", I think they're just making it easier for new players to get into the game. Like someone else said, these are all reprints, and it isn't something that you -have- to buy, for those that enjoy slivers, it's a great buy. I might pick one up just because I have some good memories with a Sliver deck from when I was younger, and it'll be fun to foil up an EDH deck full of them.

So again, I just think Wizards is branching out and trying to release a lot of different "starter decks" for people to play with other than the handful that are still on the shelves from the past few sets.

They're accommodating for a fast-growing new Magic population. That's all I feel it is really.

    Rock Lobster

Many take the Lobster for granite.

    Love it!

I also really like Undead Warchief

It has the strength of seven men. In fact, it used to be seven men.

Yet Another Aether Vortex was hilarious, I'd never seen that one before

Definite sleeper rare. I'll be playing Green/White for sure with this, Lotus Cobra, Vines of Vastwood, Harms Way, etc. etc. Plus you get Scute Mob in the maindeck with no problem?

Harrow + Oracle of Mul Daya + Lots of Lands + Primal Bellow?

Sounds good to me. And you get Oblivion Ring + Journey to Nowhere..

Mmm. Oh yeah, and Steppe Lynx.

Sounds like a deck to me!

So this really isn't a money set like people thought it was going to be.. Uh oh.

I bought a case hoping that I would be able to keep all the Fetchlands and flip the rest away and make my money back. We'll see what happens.. I need to pull some sick foils
