Let me be clear, I was just suggested a keyword for the process, it doesn't have to be "mill", obviously. And again, it probably wouldn't be "mill" since it does only refer to one card.
But at the same time "Vigilance" refers to a card ( Vigilance ).
I'm sure they wouldn't call it "mill" or "grind" or "whet", but they out to consider a more succinct way of saying the very commonly used phrase in their cards.
I always looked at milling as taking spells and capabilities out of the person's... brain, I suppose. So it's like Thought Scour, it always feels like a lobotomy.
Maybe it should just be "Lobotomize target player for 7."
Or "put the top 3 cards of your library into your graveyard" becomes
"Lobotomize 3".
The title says it all.
Instead of lengthy text that says "whenever ~ deals damage to a player, that player puts the top 3 cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard", they can easily substitute something like "...that player mills 3 cards".
Any thoughts on this? I'm sure it's been brought up before, but if that's the case, maybe someone has some insight on what the developers are thinking here.
I am completely on board with this. I think it could make for an interesting deck design, plus you can (efficiently) play things like Etched Oracle in these decks.
Now that we see they'll do different color cards on different sides, I wonder if they would do different card types.
I feel like this transform keyword is perfect for turning artifacts into Gargoyle creatures.
Remember when Trample didn't require reminder text?
I understand this is a core set, but I really never want to play Crumbling Colossus because of how gaudy it is alone. Too sluggish with text.
Carrion Feeder is always a great one, when a creature is going to die and will have nothing to show for it. Also, I'd look for outlets in lands. Phyrexian Tower, High Market are both great for this.
I think a good budget body for The Mimeoplasm is Thalakos Scout. Because your general still deals general damage even after oozing up some guys, shadow is always a plus. And the choose and discard a card to return him to your hand is just a very relevant evasion ability.
If he is about to get hit, discard a cool new creature, return your 'Plasm, and replay to get that new card.
Also, in my deck, I've found Stronghold Rats is very useful for collective discarding, and for relative unblockability.
I think that a good addition for you would be Riding the Dilu Horse.
I know I've used it well in the past with troll-shroud guys, but it seems it could be good to have a 6/6 unblockable, untargetable, regenerating general.
(It's just too bad Karakas isn't around anymore. Not that this deck could play it, but then he could jump mass destruction effects, too.)
I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm going to go with:
U
Sorcery
Draw three cards.
End the turn.
or
U
Sorcery
Draw three cards.
Sacrifice two permanents.
I just can't see a way to design this card elegantly without some kind of simple drawback like that.
The first card would be too broken. You could just use it after you attack when you are done with your turn, or just as a turn one play.
The second one would have to have the sacrificing as part of the cost, or else you could go first, play this and sac a land. Then you are up three cards and next turn draw a card, better than being on the draw. It'd have to be a cost and more than two permanents, I think. However, I don't think it's a very blue effect.
It is one of the best targets ever indeed. But those strategies are not standard viable. We've got Iona or Progenitus (with Polymorph or Summoner's Trap) and those decks are just not that good. I don't think they will get any better with RoE. It is a possibility though.
And speaking of other formats, I think his last ability makes it impossible for Legacy's Reanimator, as there's no instant speed Reanimate, is there? I'm not that deep into Legacy, so I might be mistaken.

Just suggestions.

Ya feel me, fellas?

You can see each of the monuments depicted in the artifact lands from Mirrodin in the basic land art.

Both of these seem believable. The second one less so, but the wording does seem a little off.
I like the first one though, I could see that being printed.
Shallow Grave is a good one.
T1: dark ritual into Entomb, then Shallow Grave.
He works well with Erratic Portal in EDH though. (He? She?)
Maybe if it was top 50 cards. Even then, Reanimator would love it.
