I was most saddened by no Gemstone Mine. I thought that had long since reached reprint-required status.

It has been crunched out when Flagstones was spoiled. Both Gemstone Mine and Gemstone Caverns need a reprint

Finally, I’d like to get some more Turns content up on the YouTube channel and at this point I wouldn’t mind taking someone else’s list for a spin, or at least using it as a starting point. Anyone been crushing it lately with a monoblue list? Can’t justify buying into a splash color at the moment.

Apologies for the wall of text! Hope you’re all doing well.

Mono U turns are pretty stock. My mono U list has 68/75 cards with your list. Maybe trying out a splash with cards that you currently have be better?

My SB has grafdiggers and relic. Mainly to stop coco and vizer decks. I'm looking for ways to stop spirits with Mono U but its pretty atrocious currently. I'm on a 2-11 losing streak against both UW and bant spirits currently.

I will be testing out Sphinx of the Final Word but I've a feeling it is still too slow

Daniel Wong doing great at GP Atlanta, 7-1 after day one I believe with a UR variant, was on camera at around 2:54:00 during day 1 coverage: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/331011234

Bolt snap bolt doing a lot of work against mardu pyro. That spicy cracking drake tech doesn't seem to be working well in actual games though

Bomat is just too slow. Try it out for FNM / some games.

For something new... the Arclight Steam Kin deck seems to be getting some good results. Although I'm not sure if it's an aggro or combo deck.

It is strong right now. I foresee this deck to dominate for at least the next 2 weeks while the meta adjusts to it. It is pretty weak to boggles though and unfavoured against burn. I don't have enough experiences in the other matchup yet

So I have a couple updates on my list... I like to experiment with cards/changing things around a lot and keepin' it fresh haha

    First;
I started running Oust over Path and can't believe I didn't make the switch sooner. Like in control path is fine but with this deck especially, allowing them access to additional mana is a problem. Plus Oust has been really good from my play testing at guaranteeing that they either have a dead draw in three turns or that they shuffle away a creature with a fetch.

Wouldn't Condemn be better or is it just situational? All our opponent creatures will be attacking us on G1 since we have at most snap to be a surprise blocker. I rarely see people holding back their meddling mage or eidolon.

I would have preferred to have a longer lead time for the GPs (6months ish). Last time releasing the schedule and format for the 1st half of the year followed by the 2nd half of the year later was excellent. Not everyone lives in the US or can get a break from work easily...

Judging from this year information dump, I will be going to zero events simply because getting off from work with a 3 months notice period is close to impossible.

Maybe the new PTQs replacing PPTQ/RPTQ will be a decent do over (if they ever release information on it in a timely manner)

Gerry Thompson's thoughts on being a pro player

It is great to see someone taking a stand and giving suggestions to better the current state of the game. It may fall on deaf ears as usual since the pro players have regular meetings with the powers that be and little has come out of it.

I'm however worried about the potential fall out that may happen to Gerry T. Maybe he have to go back to the SCG tour circuit after Hasbro bans him for being the game into dispute.

Tested Plumeveil in place of Titi and initial results went well. At best, its a 3cmc surprise removal on tiny creatures. At worst, it gets reflectored or quelled. But I'm not sure of its long term results.

The lack of Titi means we cant side out Ptw as we lack a kill con in the deck. Depending on Jace's ult is just not going to work most of the time against the faster decks.

Has anyone else tested it or other creatures such as Wall of Denial out?

Interested to see what happens if undermine, absorb and recoil get reprinted, would they see play at all? lol

Bouncing permanents(mostly lands) doesn't happen now. When you start first and you recoil your opponent 1st land, the amount of salt farmed will be huge.

Undermine and absorb may be possible

Splashing white for SB options is a valid strategy that should be considered. KCI is getting popular and it just stomps ponza. I prefer BoPs over Noble Hierarch personally.

Modern staples should have a small bump (3 months time frame) as modern PPTQ season is starting
