"Always look for what's not in a playable pre-constructed deck to see where gains are to be made, after all." This is so true. Maybe just maybe it will get people to play standard casually in FNMs. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

The problem with splashing white is turning it into a control/mill deck which is too slow for the meta. Being a swiss army knife of a deck slows the milling by a lot which will cause us games.
Any pictures? I'm still unable to find any photo proof of it being delivered on the internet.
I like it as a SB card for the grindy matchups. The problem is the meta being too fast right now and grindy matchups are rare. It may replace tracker as tracker is just too slow and I always side my trackers out.
Uhmm did you mean you mana weaved and got screwed by it? Or what type of deck manipulation did you use?
Buyouts on anvils and grinding station are happening right now. WTF....
The wincon is bloody slow, winning via mikokoro milling or snap beats. But if it works consistently, its good.
Thank you for updating this thread and keeping the discussion following during your turn as thread starter
Most games revolves around gigadrowsing on opponent end step and going off afterwards from my experiences
Remove all but 2 dictates. Mull for SB hate cards (hurkyls, discard, stony, artifact destruction) depend on what splash you play or counters (aim for stirrings or KCI only). Out grind them while hoping you draw better. Know when to concede due to time pressure.
More details on how you won Infect and Bant Spirits? Those are rough for Ponza.

Still a work in progress. Or basically nothing but a name change for PTQ confirmed. It is so dismissal that the initial article (which was later edited) was mentioning WCQ for PT Fort Worth, Dallas
Mono U got a good match-up against big mana, midrange and control decks. Any non Dredge/phoenix aggro decks are problematic. We have to draw our sideboard cards and hope our opponent stumbles when we are facing mass creatures.
I define a good match-up with more than 60% win rate. Dredge is an outlier with a WR greater than 80% ever since chill got printed. Spirits and other tribal decks are almost impossible. You got to hit a Titi and letting it survive long enough to flip.
What mono U lacks is a dearth of hard removal. Bouncing creatures is soso when they have active vials on the battlefield.
It helps to "dig" more with surveil 2. Sometimes you just need a card to stablise that is currently not in your GY but on the top 2 cards of your library. But the other times, a 2/1 ambush viper is just what you need.
For a monno U turn deck, I'm favouring mission briefing over a 3rd/4th snapcaster currently.
