SO I recently started building a EDH and it seems to be doing ok, but I wanted to step it up some more. I cant get a exact list but I can tell you the key cards I am using.
The plan is to be a G/W/B Mass Destruction Deck, Primarly focused on Land Destruction.
Did those people have a store base? My TO's venues don't include any stores.
Tazeem was given out at the Planechase release event. Celestine Reef was given out at the Zendikar pre-release along with Rampaging Baloths. Valakut was given out at the Zendikar launch party all by itself.
I am a TO without a store, and yes. You will get the New plane card as it comes with The New vampire Nighthawk and Kor Duelist, as I can get those. Also Your TO probably cant get Pre-release promos, So I can see him not getting some of them, or the Planechase one. However he can get the Release ones. Unless you have a lot of people showing up and can hit a higher status, not really a store thing but a WPN playing group level.
So The second quote explains why those promos werent given out, as you didnt have that status.
I would run 4 marsh flats 2 Verdants and 2 Arid Mesa. I would run Elite Vanguard over Lynx and Disfigure over Hideous End. Arcane Sanctum may help as well. Blademaster should be a 4 of. Baneslayer shpuld be a 3 of
If they did do new duals it would have top be reprints of the Ravnica block ones as it would break extended and if they were better than shocks it could Hurt older formats as well.
That isnt horrible, or Powerful. They can really only use it in monoblack. and it doesnt hit the other person. Why is it to powerful? or did you not read.

Well two non Rubin Zoo did make it all the way up there and one did place 2nd. Granted Kibler Beat them both out (I think?) it all depends. Wasnt the Burton-Kibler match 3-2?
chalice seems like a decent way to get around it. Although 4 mana is alot, won't help early,and will be more of a pain with builds running alot of 2cmc stuff. Meddling mage is an option although path does in fact end his day and he is fail in the zoo mu in the first place. A well placed venny clique will help, but god it seems like your going to have to be a good player to run control in this meta, even against scrubs.
I defiantly agree with you on the player skill level of control. Thats how I think control should be, You should have to work your way up and not ride the deck to the top.
Chalice seems like a great choice though, it may be a pain toget out there and at least pridemage wont get it.
exactly, been saying that for a long time. however it is a fun deck to play.

I thought Zuran Orb was usually banned? Of if its not I would be extremly happy with that.
