That is the why. Everyone plays it. People don’t adapt to that kind of card. A lot of the best spells cost 1 so everyone plays misstep to counter them to counter other missteps.
Parfait is like most decks to fast combo, you're probably going to lose to the nut draw. The longer the game the stronger parfait gets. Paths and chants are going to be the most likely answers early on.
Honestly tower is just such a strong low cost value card. It can buy you time without the resource loss associated with zorb. I think I have covered your concerns before so I can not touch on those right now unless required. I will suggest tithe as the shuffle effect of choice, it was why I originally had plateaus.
Enchantress has wild growth and friends. It's a deck that basically needs to play a 3 mana spell turn 2 so I'm not sure what you mean with acceleration. Personally I run oblivion ring in some number main just because it is an answer to just about everything. Also when extended was a format I would sometimes have plows or chants in my 75.
Reanimator and dredge were half of the reason I ran leyline of the void, but truthfully it was a concession to abrupt decay. It does make the mana a little weird if it's not free however, but it is still castable.
Helm is still good against reanimator without rip. Their deck turns it into a one card combo
Storm I find is about getting to turn 3. Bloodmoon and trinisphere, just as examples, show how badly we can gum up their plans. Same with chant. The problem is that it is possible for them to win before we do anything meaningful.
Chronicles is what started the reserve list by having players in an uproar. The white border treatment was the answer to keeping the lower print black border cards collectible. But this was also the Wild West at this point. Everything being done is a first. It was the player reaction that WotC pandered to and now people wish they didn't.
Even now people say things like tarmogoyf is being reprinted it will tank in price, they're flooding the market. But they never flood the market. They don't follow the yugioh model of making a card common and ban it to tank prices. All wizards does is market as seen by the return of core as an example.
You could try my approach the sun plan. I've yet to use it, but I like the potential it has.
