I doubt Wasteland would see reprint due to the negative ripple it would have on not only standard, but also extended. We'd be lucky to get Ghost Quarter again.
since nobody is playing without basic lands (due to path to exile), Ghost Quarter is really a good option to reprint.
simply isn't true. Mono Black Aggro, at least in Legacy is far more heavily played than Mono Black Control. As such, I think it is probably the more popular choice, I can't speak for the other formats. However I would imagine the same holds true. The problem is that Mono Black Control is far more iconic than Mono Black Aggro for whatever reason.
I know the MBA legacy...
just if you don't understand, I was jokking... and my post was tottaly ironic.
anyway, there's no way to make a real good MBA in the actual t2 and t4... I ever seen some zoombies, but with no good results at all...
Why can't black get a new card like Juzam Djinn?
Was it really that overpowered?
If you think about it... wasn't Korlash, Heir to Blackblade just as strong if not stronger?
I would love to see a new, beefy, mono-black creature that isn't overcosted and was actually something you'd be stupid not to play or build a deck around.
Lets look at U creatures then. It has had the worst efficient creatures traditionally but now its really good when you look at the faeries and merfolk and even Guile for that matter.
Faeries can still be a competitive deck with out bitterblossom. Merfolk can be competitive too despite having a light W splash for Sygg, River Guide
man, a elf stomper deck t2 can break this...
I've made all tests, I love mono blue decks, especially the old mono blue control, but, for this, is impossible to get the past back...
now, the only place Ive ever seen a mono blue control is in legacy...
ok, so, something that allready exist, and is comparable to Efreet is Carnophage, that's is a bit little, but is used in some legacy decks... like other cards, good in agro blacks...
other card is Plague sliver, but some people just don't like him... and it's cost 4...
ok, I admit, there's nothig like that in t2 or t4, and nothig to use ritual at the first turn too...
there's aways a reason for the oldies and for the news... mutilate for example, with this, your nantuko shade could not die, and you're still in advantage... the same don't happens with damnation.... aways there's a real reason... but, for that reason, we has to analyse all cards in the actual game play...
status updated on DCI, I got mine emailed.
I didn't received anything, and on thedci.com, I don't have anything mailed yet.

to fit in your theme, there's Festering Goblin to
cause everyone loves control!
cause black have mechanicals that makes a control so much funny...
aggro isn't funny... the game ends to much fast.
Plague Sliver?
