I love the Mask. I don't even need the fear from it since there are so many creatures with flying. The draw from it is just great because I easily run out of gas playing more than one creature at a time. I need all the cards I can get.
Maybe I'd try a singleton Bone Saw too.
After some testing, I'd like to up the Sanctum Gargoyle to 3 since it really is good. Especially after early Master of Etheriums that easily get removed, the gargoyle is just tech. Also, after a permanently-remove-from-game-combo with Thopter Foundry + Tidehollow Sculler, you get to do it again with the gargoyle.
I've been thinking of completely removing the Glaze fiend because I find it very weak without the Thopter Foundry combo. It seems to force me to over-commit at times too.
Here's what I'm running now. I haven't tested it much but so far so good. Need some opinions and sideboard suggestions. I was thinking instead of PtE, I would run Zealous Persection.
I was thinking of this: -4 Manaplasm, +4 Jund Hackblade. I would also like to fit in some madrush cyclopse in there but don't know what to cut. Thoughts please?
How does this deck perform against Esper Sphinx Control? Just curious because there's this one guy where I play and he always manages to win 1st place while going against a number of Esper Stoneblade decks.
Infest can be a pain, but I really don't see it much. The nice thing about this deck is that it can recover from sweepers pretty fast. If you can use your Thopter Foundry in response to the infest, you can gain a little life, and of course you can tranform borderposts into 1/1 Flyers at end of turn. If you are running against something with sweeps, you just need to make sure you don't overextend into them. The deck is solid.
Sphinx is pretty slow in this deck. I wouldn't bother.
Heh, I thought so.
I always try build my decks to have at least 2 cards that are big finishers like Broodmates, that's why I asked about the sphinx. Is there any way to fit something like that in?
A friend of mine said that this deck is weak because infest ruins it. Is that true?
I like this deck because I'm getting tired of all the Cascade variants in my meta and all the little tricks you can do with it. Also, would it be so bad to include 2 Sphinx of the Steel Wind?
i would take out the 4 terminates in exchange for puncture blasts. if you're having trouble with white weenies then keep volcanic fallout and/or infest in your sideboard for that situation. as for the mana base...if youre having a lot of difficulty with having the right color out, just try 4x terramorphic expanses
I forgot to add the 2 Jund Panoramas in my list. I was thinking I'd up it to 4 and redo the mana base but I'm not really good at that. Suggestions please? I'd like to keep it as close to block constructed as possible.
Here's my update. Pretty much the only change is -3 Rampant Growth, +3 Sygg, River Cutthroat. I've come to hate Rampant Growth here. I'm only happy when I see it opening hand and even then I sometimes with it had been any other possible 2 drop.
I need help with the mana base. I almost always have difficulty with it. i know some of you will say that I should get some duals but I don't plan to until m10 since I don't play in a lot of tourneys and I like to think of my cards as investments that will last at least 6 months. Feel free to suggest anything else aside from mana base concerns. I lost horribly because of mana problems to another Jund Aggro and 5CC, both of which were Alara Block Constructed and I am having a bit of difficulty against White Weenie.
Also, I posted a question about adding Ajani Vengeant and no one replied. What would be the effect of adding him?
And new question - What changes would you make to turn my deck Block Constructed?
Hmm... Would adding Ajani Vengeant to the deck be a terrible idea? I bought some a while back but never actually used them. I was thinking I'd cut some Blightnings to make room for him. It might look like this:
I've been thinking about an Esper colored zombie deck that uses Mind Funeral to abuse Necromancer's Covenant. I just haven't had the time to work on it. The list is not even complete yet. Just sort of floating around in my head.
hmm, a thought on the wayfinders, Ive tried both the finders and the rampant growths, depending on your deck will decide which one is better, while rampant growth is a turn sooner, instant speed, and gives acceleration as well as fixing, wayfinder puts out a body to attack or block with. Ive had times where I really wished my growth was a wayfinder.
just my opinion.
After some testing, I agree with you. I don't really need acceleration, just mana fixing. I always liked that Elf Warrior Druid.
I'm going to try my deck on this Friday's FNM, but I need suggestions for a generic sideboard. Anyone have some ideas?
Thanks for the input. I'll probably go with +1 land, -4 Wayfinder, +3 Rampant Growth and see how that goes. If this were not budget, the Rampant/Wayfinder could probably be Broodmate Dragon or Chameleon Colossus.
I edited my old list from the Broodmate Rock thread, of which I had little success, to this. I'm still thinking about Wayfinder vs. Rampant Growth. I was thinking since I don't have many turn 2 plays, rampant growth would be good but I still don't know. This is going to be a budget list so I need the mana fixing. I happen to got lucky at the prerelease with a Maelstrom Pulse so I figured get a few more.
I also need some input on the non-creature spells. I really can't think of any other list for those spells but the one above. Bloodbraid->Blightning is just awesome.
So what do we do against really fast decks? Losing a ton of life early game is no fun. Ajani Vengeant would add a lot, I think. I'd replace Terminate with Path to Exile but I don't know about the consistency of going 4 colors. Thoughts?
Maybe I'd try a singleton Bone Saw too.
