I think we're overrating the planeswalkers being the rivals of Ixalan. I bet it's closer to like the worthy of Amonkhet. A whole populace involved in some big event has been Magic's thing of late. Kaladesh with the inventors fair for more reference. I'm with you guy on assuming it's Meso themed since we saw those Atlazan and Conquest packs. If it is Meso and we do get Gods here I believe we'll soon have a large multiverse connection reveal between Gods of different planes. Though I have a thought they won't do back to back God flavor(unfortunately) especially after what I would call a miss on the Amonkhet Gods.
Bolas is decent but less powerful than his first planeswalker appearance in my opinion. He may be a card in marvel as a mirror breaker but I'm not super confident in that. He looks strong in commander but not even as annoying as Ugin. Samut is very bad. That wrath is really bad too.
My favorite part of the story is when Hidetsugu fights Keiga. I remember he definitely involves himself with the Yamabushi and may have encountered Kumano.
What are they thinking this primordial is too good. If it just killed no lands it would be nuts but the forest throw in ability just makes me think they don't care what they do to edh players. I know everyone thinks it's cool but this guy is worse than sundering titan and is comparable to primeval titan. They are just making it hard to have fun in commander. It's not like mono green wasn't a great option in commander. Not to mention how insane it is with natural order.
It's about time primeval made the disparity between green and nongreen decks to obvious. While he was legal the only way games could be fun is if people weren't playing green. Now all we have to do is ban tooth and nail and palinchron. Worldfire I don't care either way and kokusho is more annoying than anything glad to see the black dragon back.
I'd like to see some new shard legends or two color legends. I'm not a big fan of going more than three color and it looks like wedge colors will be filled out with this new planechase product.
I love Genesis Wave seems insane. Wizards has given me a lot of things I was hoping for for this set, an awesome Golem(platinum emperion) and things of that nature. Then they give me the shaft for the loxodon. Really a 1/5 for three I want a creature that is as ground breaking as loxodon hierarch was. I'm still holding out hope for alpha tyrannex.
Oh man I really like these cards. Cultivate is the functional reprint of kodama's reach and now I can play two in my EDH decks!!! I also am a big fan of Garruk's Packleader it has amazing sinergy with rampaging baloths and it's great with Vengevine! The art in this set is looking pretty good. I like the beasts but Yavimaya Wurm and the basilisk look too computer generated(the bad kind).
If only if it didn't have the nonland clause it would have been the new arc-slogger for standard and would have been totally awesome. It still seems awesome in EDH a nice sac outlet for Kresh it'll make him freaking huge while you waste your opponents creatures.
This card is a sign that wizards is going to let the other colors into card draw and not limit it to blue. This card would have been really good at sorcery speed(because since the sacrifice is an additional cost), but instant speed just ups the power level even more. Now your opponent goes to kill your guy and you draw a new hand. Not to mention the life gain. I think cards like these will help push mana ramp in standard and we'll finally be able to use the amazing big guys from shards in standard oh and dump eldrazi on our opponents!
Leveler seems interesting. The vamp seems good in the vamp mirror but otherwize isn't too amazing.
The mana wall is awesome it's a sign of the return of mana ramp to standard!
I think by far the best card has to be the red eldrazi. It ramps you so much in one turn and if they kill the 3/3 it doesn't stop the 0/1s from doing thier job. With these awesome eldrazi coming into play it'll be a first pick in limited and hopefully will have some applications in standard. Works well with quite a few planeswalkers as well(Garruk, Sarkhan, Ajani Goldmane)
I'm very impressed with these new spoilers the first ones didn't excite me much but these have really have my mind going.
I really hope the art on the dude riding a dragon doesn't go to waste(on some bad card). The new Sarkhan could be amazing. If you think about it though if he is red or black he'll be able to fit into jund. All you Jund haters better hope he isn't awesome or you'll be getting your buttkicked by him next lol.
Mt:g as a movie could be good but I think the only way to really show off magic lore is through creatures and PW's. If they were going to do it I would hope it would be in the form of an animated movie. More anime style, or afrosamurai-like animation, howfully no in a this is a kids movie way, more aggressive and bloody. That way it would appeal to older audiences. Live action could be good but we would need a budget like Lotr or Transformers to make it. I just don't want it to go and seem like a little kid movie when it should be appealing to the ages of 14-30 or better.
