Why not play Maze's End? It plays the turbofog game, has a budget manabase by necessity, and the only costly ($$$) spells it MIGHT want to run are a few board wipes.
Mortars handles things you'd normally have to 2-for-1 yourself to kill. Blood Baron of Obzedat, Polukranos, etc. I think it's good to have them, probably in the side.
Even if you're not interested in playing RW burn, it might be worth your time to look at their lists and see what sideboard choice they're making.
What? I said something - not everything. Flash is an incredibly not-red mechanic. There have only ever been five mono-red flash creatures and four of them were from TSP block. Playing with flashback is blue and red. Flash creatures are blue, not red. Maro wanting it to be red doesn't change the fact that it absolutely fits at least as well in blue as it does in red. That makes the statement that it "should have been red" blatantly false.
PS: It doesn't "literally" do the same thing. Wink
As far as Snapcaster is concerned, MaRo said they would have printed it red if the guy it was based on didn't want it to be blue. They'd probably have kept flash because it's possible to blur keywords at high rarities.
Personally I think we need a green Curiosity and more black Wrath effects.
Which doesn't even remotely mean that it shouldn't have been blue. Nothing about it doesn't fit blue. Something about it doesn't fit red.
I'm curious what it is about past in flames you think isn't red. Snapcaster does almost literally the same thing.
Shadow of Doubt seems better than trickbind in most cases. It blanks pod activations, chord of calling, and sort of tutor, etc, in addition to killing fetchlands.
I just specced out the mana base for that list (rare lands only). The lands alone are north of 250$. I understand that you're saying "hey this deck could be budgetized," but put some effort in and actually suggest the budget mana base/decklist if you're going to make a thread.
There's an example attatched.
Here's a list of features I'm working on next
There are a few display bugs to work on as well ( split cards don't play nice yet, but I'm working on it!). If you see any issues let me know

Flash is primary in blue, but tertiary in every color. Anyone can get it if the design really needs or wants it. Source: http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/81944261551/could-you-list-the-primary-and-secondary-colors-for-the
