A lot of people will probably think that's way too much value for one set, but I feel that if a card's not on the reserved list that they should print it.
I would pay $75-$100 for the above set and feel satisfied with my purchase.
That set would be like $400+. First of all, the Pink Hippo is on the Reserved List (I'm sad it wasn't an oversized card). Foil Clique, Dark Confidant, Goblin Welder, Force of Will, Grim Tutor, and Smokestack all would be out of the range of the price people would want to pay for this product.
And you're opening this product to be bought by Legacy/Vintage players and not in the hands if Commander players. This is not "Eternal Arsnal." We have evidence of Counterpunch to see what happens when one good card in Eternal formats appear in a product. And looking at the cards you wrote out makes it clear what kind of deck you like to run, and if you don't run Controllish builds, the product would have nothing for you.
Blue:
Jace- Zendikar- OUT
Gifts Ungiven- BANNED
.....I don't anything good in Blue that's not Banned
Besides Vision, I mean Help?
Gifts Ungiven isn't banned. Which is funny because Ancestral Vision is banned.
"Good" Blue cards:
Bribery
Hurkyl's Recall
Intruder Alarm
Last Word
Kira, Great Glass-Spinner
Vendilion Clique
Meloku, the Clouded Mirror
Body Double
Pact of Negation
Cryptic Command
Sower of Temptation
The coloring book and the crayons were part of the Swag Bag at PAX. The pins were cool and available at a couple place at PAX as well. From what I understand, the pins are different than badges, but I can't be 100% true on that.
Sadly, this isn't new info or swag. When I first saw this, I figured someone necro'd an old thread from the beginning of the month.
Because we have a group that thinks they are better than everyone and should make the bad restriction rules when they didn't even make the format. It should be a voted on list, a list controlled by Wizards, or it should follow Vintage or Legacy imo.
Why, because they did in fact create the format? The list would get out of whack if it was voted on (People can voice their opinions to Sheldon), you don't want WotC controlling the list because it will turn into a competitive format, and it shouldn't follow Vintage/Legacy because there are a ton of awful cards that are banned in one that's fine in others.
While the Rules Committee isn't perfect, I agree with them. Let Kokusho come out and play; if he's too much, he can go back onto the banned list.
Turn all your creatures into Vampires? I like it. 6/5 flier for 6 isn't bad either, especially since it'll get bigger. The interesting part is the triple Black in a multicolored block.
So maybe you should stop doing it to my wallet. I take the artificial inflation of prices INCREDIBLY seriously. It IS criminal, and I'm fed up with being the victim of it.
Well, that's just like your opinion, man. I highly doubt it's illegal.
I don't care if you like expensive cards. Stop berating me because I don't. Stop making MY enjoyment of the game less because you have to sit and berate me over it. The problem with the attitude of foiling and this product specifically is that it not only doesn't keep the format AVAILABLE (availability being the single most important part of enjoyment, as you can't enjoy what isn't there), it makes it LESS fun because ONLY the jerks can afford it. Casual MEANS casual. So freaking tired of the attitude of "I have to make things as expensive as possible for everyone else so only I can afford it." Keep that in competitive play. It is where it belongs.
Here's the thing, they aren't just for you. If you want the Command Tower that is most likely going to be in the set, you can buy it off SCG for $3. Here's the link for you. If you wanted to get a foil version of the card (at the moment, the only version is the judge foil), SCG has them for $50. Here's the link for that.
Here's the awesome part:
They both play the same.
If you have a foil card, and I don't have a foil card, yours doesn't tap for extra mana and gain you 5 life.
Isn't that fantastic? If I want to play with foil cards, and if I have the means at the fortitude to do so, I can do that. This is a collector's item, NOT, as many people here in the thread want it to be, an introduction to Commander. I've got Commander decks where I don't foil cards, and ones where I do. I don't think any less of players who don't foil out their decks; I am happy they are playing Commander in the first place.
But complaining about a collector's edition of something when there's a cheaper version out there is just silly if you're just looking to play. You shouldn't care what your cards look like if you're just "playing" instead of collecting. Stop making MY enjoyment of the game less because you have to sit and berate me over it.
Oops. I got the Hallowed Fountain playmat at the Magic party at PAX and I didn't think to post it here. But yeah, they were giving these away to the first people who showed up at the party.
Really? All I got was a Selesnya deckbox. Doesn't matter, still happy.
I'm really surprised that the binder is one of the higher quality ones. Have they been doing that with Ultra Pro binders for a while?

I would reccomend to read the page since they've got a great FAQ about the card.

The elephant is just a 4/4 for 3 once it's on the battlefield. It gets on the Battlefield easily though.
