For my meta this will be a 1-of in pod or 4-of in green stompy, it gets really wacky here so what ever you can think of most likely will happen, I see it as an efficient fatty and for alot of people who want to play there own deck its perfect.
Looks much better than whatever Hasbro was going to make, After its release I hope to see another one of these with a 'things we learned' vibe, best of luck to you guys!:D
Each of use would start the tournament with a stack of booster packs from a set not among the prizes. Whenever we lost a round (other than to one of us), we were to give a pack from our stack to the person who beat us. The pack could be kept or traded in for significantly more packs of an older set at the players choice. At the end we got to keep whatever packs we had left.
We do this every year at are local champs, I was that guy last year also only losing 1 pack, its a fun side thing to do.
I don't get all the hate for Tom. I played a few games against him on Magic Online (he is a big classic supporter), and he was a great opponent. He is well versed in the game and has a true passion for Magic. Good luck in your future endeavors Tom.
I will agree, he has a great understanding of the game but were he seems to fall short is understanding players or atleast how people think, To his credit his 2nd best standard was "Kawi-Ravi" on account of the deversity and the main reason he seem to think "Zen-Scars" was good was because people wanted to beat Cawblade and felt it was aw-inspiring in a David vs. Goliath kind of way, basically he liked seeing players beat the meta but in the end the meta won(or the bannings anyway).
Note:Would someone find that article I know it was recent.
I just can't forgive him when he wrote that "Zen-Scars" was the best Standard magic ever had to him, He has great understanding of mechanics but seems to be a more spike focused player, wish him the best.
Note: I don't outright hate him I just can't forgive that 1 comment since he seems to be one of the main guys that holds Maro back.
I'm satisfied, the list (for modern) is for me the 'boogey-men' of the format, GSZ is a little odd but its fine, we tried modern at are store 2 weeks ago and it was (as a johnny) fun.
This really makes warp world shine since I don't have to sweat bullets each turn.
As I see it Werewolves should be played for there human side and look at them transforming as a bonus, they are pretty good to begin with but if you make a deck like this it should not be your goal to just have Werewolves, the best way I can explaine with the mayor: he is a good lord for humans and if he becomes transformed you can use Mikaeus, the Lunarch and or Gavony Township to make your wolf token stronger.
Thank you this was very insightful, Every 2 weeks I organize a casual non-official FNM where we try different formats, When we play commander I enforce some 'odd' rules.
1. You may play banned cards.
2. If you do 1 you must show everyone the contents of your deck.
3. Banned cards will be given extra-effects to prevent shenaniegains.(ex: Time Walk gets an extra " then skip your next 2 turns.", Black Lotus is", Your Life total becomes 3 and gain 14 poison counters.", its a work in progress but its working so far.)
I will bring this up at the next game and see if we can agree to something, I'm thinking " and lose 10 life and gain 5 poison counters." what would you suggest?
EDIT: Also I think Crack the Earth is a response (but hardly the best) to it.
The problem is that previous examples of power creep, the titans, the swords, Wurmcoil Engine, Phyrexian Obliterator, Dismember, etc... still exist, ensuring that fewer cards from the new set will actually see play. You may not see a true return of the power levels till the NEXT rotation.
Pretty much what is going to happen but its good in that it should teach players instead of this "X/6 for 6 or go home", cards that make players jump hoops instead of 'pay - hit the board - win' is what keeps things varied.
As it stands until the titans leave and Dismember is gone things will be blane and dull(also better silver bullets, I wants my Pithing Needles)

Note: I ask because I have not ever gotten a clear response.

Edit: Sorry Intruder Alarm, but it wants to be broken.
