Really happy to see it, Undying, Rancor, Creeping Renaissance, to me at least its perfect beside green right know and can go past rotation, I did not get to play a deck like this last time so I'm going to play the heck out of it NOW! Grin

As a Standard Johnny combo player the article had a nice rags to richs feel and it made me feel fuzzy inside, as a side note I agree with what was said/wrote about the Temp and Petal, I have found combo decks have mainly 2 directions, have it be able to win with everything but the combo or protect the hell out of it, one of the worse things I've seen happen is combo's trying to "gold fish" everything and its knowing when is to much a good thing.(Still a great read to me.)

It seems you really have to work to make the red walker work.
    I like him!

My T&N deck was meta'd hardcore back in Mirrodin\Kamigawa standard. I had a swamp and Cranial Extractions in the SB to exile their Sowing Salts or whatever they would bring into game 2. So much fun.

It's still like that as far as I know. At FNM anyway where you know what everyone plays. It's not like this isn't practiced anymore. Smile

I'm not saying its not done its just to me the cards available to hate or prepare to be hated are subpar here and there.

Note: And before someone says "since you play Liquimetal Coating you must hate Ancient Grudge" actually I love it and its the perfect example of what kind of hate cards should be printed.

It's not oppressive at all. It's color hate, and it's actually a legitimate way to hose certain archetypes when other archetypes like RDW or UB Zombies don't have access to certain forms of hate like enchantment or artifact removal.

Which makes players think "should I splash green for Naturalize", which is what I would like standard to be one day, do you stick to putting all your eggs in one basket or do you prepare an anwser to your opponents anwsers and sacrifice some power? , its what I felt standard magic should be but thats me.

Note: When it comes to token hate all I can think of is Leyline of Singularity, I really cant think of a card that makes having alot of tokens feel so bad.

This just (if its true) solidifies my opinion that they should reprint old-school hard-hate cards like Chill or Karma, I know its opressive but from my eyes and how the meta shapes up at my store(random as everything), it seem like todays silver-bullets are just spread to cover alot and end up doing nothing, yes Ray of Revelation is in DA but even that does not do enough its likely War Priest of Thune would have been better if only because its a hitter thats a 2/2 that needs two 1/1 tokens to be killed. Basically I say its a good move if its banned anywhere.

I learned alot and felt I've become better for it, I made 2 decks out of my pool, B/U SkaaZoms with alot of target mill, it was perfect but I have never really played this before so I tried my luck, My back up deck was a fast R/W combat trick deck,
    My thoughts on the day:
The BU only worked 2 out of the 5 first games it was played, I should have milled myself more but I was always nervous, I now understand the importance of turn 1-2 plays, even if I did bad with it I still feel like I got something valuable.
The RW did amazing, I was worried that because there was no bomb it would be bad but its power to push alot of early damage meant I could just swarm by turn 5.
    My MVPs would be
1.Chalice of life kept me alive for so long, play it even if there's grudge
2.Loyal Cathar would just keep going then die and keep going, etc
3.Faithless Looting, At first I was afraid but it just let me filter so much land out I can say its a almost Time Walk in a 'give me what I want' sort of way.
    Can't wait to draft!!!

It seems to suffer from the 'I cannot replace myself' syndrome like Torpor Orb, its still a good card but where Needle can make a card intierly useless this one only makes it half useless.

Its a simple to the point card, I hope this can help BW tokens as its a style that seems to deserve a chance at standard.
I'm just happy we get this cycle now instead of third set:D
