I have a Modern event I'm going to this weekend and this is what I'm about to sleeve up. Anyone have input? Also I'm new to the archetype. What are typical sideboard swaps?
Any chance for us to be similar to the quick UR delver list with Stormchaser Mage but play black for Painful Truths The card feels so good in our deck. It's no Treasure Cruise but it's still "Draw 3 Cards"
How does everyone feel about this new Eldrazi deck? I'm sorry if I missed the discussion. Does anyone have sweet sideboard tech? My 3 of my 4 buddies started running various versions and I haven't had many chances to test it.
I expect a lot of BGx, Amulet, Twin, Grixis and Zoo so I decided to go -1 Dispel for +1 Blood Moon.
Just got back and my list looked similar. I went 8-1 day one for my first ever tournament. Day two went bad, but that was my own doing and not the deck. My main was -2 Dispel +1 Roast and +1 Spell Pierce. The Pierce wasn't as good as I hoped. But the Blood Moon won me 4 game ones over day one and one day two. (Once against a really greedy UR Twin that fetched all his duals early. And this was in round 5) Main board Blood Moon was so good for this tournament. So glad I went straight UR Twin also.
The third Blood Moon was for the Bloom deck mainly. I only brought in 1 against anything else. My only grip was I never knew what to bring Staticaster against. Lingering Souls in Abzan? It does nothing against everything else. I think I would have rather another card for the aggro match ups. Never had a problem with Cryptics and Moons colliding. I don't think it's an issue because I fetched at least 2 Islands almost every time if I had the red. And if I cast Moon, I wasn't planning on casting Command.
RUG twin obviously. by far the best. just play it and you will see. my winrate with RUG twin with around 90%, winrate with ur twin around 75% and grixis around 65%.
RUG twin is strictly better than UR twin all the good matchups get better and the bad matchups become much easier.
Grixis twin is a crappy deck and I would not recommend playing it.
as for how to improve mirrors just play them alot. time is the teacher. just don't be stupid and remand your own spells.
90% seems astronomically high. The best players in the world at best only get to 70%. So your comment seems hyperbolic at best. Not to mention not very informative in the discussion of which would be better in a 8+ round tournament.
Not to mention that in my testing RUG seemed to have the worst mana base out of the three. (Having a stock list from the one that won the RPTQ recently) So I would often lose because I had too many awkward opening hands.
So I'm going to a tournament in Pittsburg this weekend and I can't decide which Twin variant I want to build. RUG, Grixis or UR. Anyone have any input?
If you're doing GP Pitt, I recommend the one you know the best. If you know all 3 the best, but think you can predict the meta, play the one you think will be best in the meta. If you don't know the meta, play UR Twin as you want the best mana you can have over 9+ rounds of Magic.
I'm anticipating a Jund and Zoo/Burn heavy meta, so that means there will also be a good amount of Tron to prey on Jund. With this in mind, I'm going to be playing straight UR with either 2 Roast or 2 Grim Lavamancer MB for the Burn/Zoo matchup.
Yea. I wasn't sure what the meta was as I've been busy. But I'm comfortable with Grixis and UR the best. Thanks for the input. Good luck while you're there.

This is the deck I'm running and have been using for the last week. Plan on going to a bigger tournament soon with it and would love to get some input. This is my first testing with Day's Undoing. What is everyone's opinion on it?
Am I reading this or does this increase exponentially? So if I overload 7 instants/sorceries, it says "For Each card Exiled this way, copy it..." Does that mean I would copy each spell 7 times? Or just a more confusing way to write it down?
Is it still too much to ask for Counterspell? I just want Draw go to be good. And don't say "UW Control is a deck!" Because UW "Control" is a midrange deck. And Grixis Control, which is better, still can't hang with the myriad of combo decks it has to prepare for.
Mono Black, Delver, Familiar storm, Green Stompy, Goblins, Mono White Soldiers are all the decks we are trying to stay away from. We are trying to build silly things. It has to be 2+ colors unless a really good reason (True colorless Eldrazi Tron). If you have the deck lists or a start to one I would appreciate it.
Recently my LGS has had a little resurgence of pauper decks. I want to know some silly, weird, and fun pauper decks that are not mono colored. We are having a tournament. Rules is it can't be tier one and it can't be mono colored. I'm a sucker for 5 colored decks. So much that I e built 5 color Gate control and Domain Burn. What other weird or wacky decks would you recommend?

I feel like that it right. But my question is why have that wording in there since it would work fine without it.
