Waging war to gain captives to sacrifice and eat isnt evil?
The aztec had two kinds of wars: the normal "conquer other guys wars" (that were very diferent from what we usually asociate with conquers) and the "floral wars" to get people to sacrifice, sometimes the floral wars where betwen allies. And yes they eat a SMALL PART of the flesh of SOME of the captives, also they usually teatred the persons that were goin to be sacrified very wellbecause they were grateful because with their deaths the rest of humanity will survive
On an unrelated note, the dinosaurs and probably the sun empire apears to be only in green, white and red, the colors of the mexican flag. Probably just a huge coincidence but still vey cool to me
Whether the Flowers wars were really ritualized combat or simply the Aztec way of excusing inability to conquer neighbors is up for debate.
What archeological evidence provides is that children were used frequently as sacrifices and their skeletons have butcher marks on them.
Children where sacrificed to water related gods (more tears=more rain=more food), and usually the parents ofer their children, but they usually only eat some parts of the warriors/war prisioners sacrificed to the war/sun god

And I am saying the people that live in those places dont seem to feel that way at all.
I dont think the people of Mexico would be building statues to the conquistadors if they thought of them as evil.
This seems like Americans being offended or sensitive for other places with out really bothering to investigate.
Mexican here, most people dont like those kind of statues. The first one is from the founders of a city and a lot of people where very abgry when they made it. The mayor of the city where I live tried to do the same and there was so much anger that the statue was cancelled. There is a group of statues where the guy is depicted, but the statues are supoused to represent the history of the city so they have to put it in.
In other words, we dont like them, but for better or for worse they are part of our history
Tree of Redemtion's ability says that you "exchange" your life total and the tree toughness. this means that, for example, if i'm at 5 life and play the ability mi life will become 13 and the tree will become 0/5?
My LGS is really small, but it's ok with open gaming, it allow food and drinks, it sells some snacks too, MTG (who is his bigger source of income) has priority over pokemon (they buy some booster some time) and in turn it has priority over D&D (the people come, play, buy some snacks and maybe one miniature or two), but is rare when the groups playing those games coincide, there is no problem with trading/selling singles between players, if you are a frequent costumer/player the owner gives you one booster in your birthday, if you forget your deck or your trade binder you can be sure that you will find it with the same cards when you come back,
If I play the ability of Jace's Archivist does my Psychosis Crawler die or the state base efects are cheked after the ability resolves and I have some cards in my hand?
I was using Riku of Two Reflections the same way I use Izzet Guildmage (paying the mana cost multiple times and getting many copies of spells or creatures), but then noticed that the wording is diferrent, and after carefull reading I think I can only copy the spelll or the creature one time and no multiple times like the Izzet Guildmage, I´m Right?
And in the background of its art, I believe. It's small but it looks like that's probably him.
Thats right, I din't see him before, but still the flavor text its'n a quote of him. Maybe he trasfer his spark with the same device that menarch built to take Glisa's spark...
