Well, if Flame Javelin was playable, I'm sure Brimstone Volley will be played in MR. It's not as though the card does nothing without a creature dying.
Any decent player will abuse the fact that it dies quite easily. They'll wait for you to sink as much mana into as you are willing to, and then point a one/two mana kill spell and you'll be further behind on tempo. And on its own, it's just a 1/1.
I am not asking for transition payments or temporary subsidies. The fact is people are being replaced by machines everyday with no jobs or future work for those being displaced. That cant be economicly sound no matter how you cut it. The classes use to be, rich, middle class poor, now the classes are rich, poor and homeless. We dont need new technology, we need more jobs.
There use to be a time when kids were embarassed if your parents were school bus drivers or janitors, now they are embarassed if the parents are out of work.
Jobs are overrated. You just need food, water, and shelter. If you don't have to work for it when robots start farming and delivering food to houses that robots have built, then there really is no need for an income. Of course, I'm not saying you shouldn't hold a job since some jobs a very meaningful and provide a sense of purpose. However, if you didn't need to work as a janitor you could dedicate your time to other things.
The reason the 3rd world countries standard of living is increasing is because the american capitalist has tapped into a new labor pool and left the old one behind. While here in America we have people inventing ways to eliminate workers from any given field. I understand this has been going on from the turn of the last century when the industrial boom happened. Something I learned a few years ago about unemployment rates, they only count those who are recieving benefits. Those who have run out of benefit are no longer counted. So the 3% number you mentioned is probably closer to 5% or higher with all the homeless people in america the American public seems to ignore, A number that is increasing.
Defend whats going on in America all you want, there are more people unemployed ever in the history of the country numbers wise and the number of the poverty class has grown by leaps and bounds the past 5-10 years. Why? no work. Like I stated in another thread, we have 40+ something well educated people fighting with high schoolers for minimum wage jobs. It wasnt that way 30 years ago.
There are people who hold degrees that a) have poor social skills and b) don't think for themselves. If you work hard enough and are smart about it, you'll find that you're highly unlikely to be in such a situation.
i think this is a terrible idea. i'll probably be skipping the prerelease because of this. why would i want to play matches against people opening only certain cards, if the power level is more skewed towards one faction wouldn't everyone just decide to pick those type of packs? seems a bit unbalanced to me.
OMG.
GP AMSTERDAM.
FIRST PRIZE.
3500 worth of weed.
Whatever strains you choose.
Edibles, lollypops, actual plants, whatever form you want it in
Best prize ever.
In all seriousness, I don't see why this is making some people angry.
Its not WOTCs fault, simple as that. Be POed at other recent bad decisions, but not this one.
That's a lot of weed. Like... a poop ton of weed. It'd probably last you at least a couple of decades.
I feel like this is similar to Recruiter/Servant in Legacy/Vintage. The problem is that you can't tutor for Liquimetal Coating without gaining some sort of value, if you could I'm sure this deck would be much better.
The best place for it I figure is in a metal craft deck where the deck doesn't revolve completely around the coating but the coating helps enable certain tricky plays etc.
They want to start off with a high price and gauge what the card is actually worth. For the people who do pay for it at $75 then Profit!. When the price lowers, they know they'll be selling it at a reasonable market value that people agree to.

The fact that it's white makes it that much more flavorful.
