Alright, look. This is absurd. Luis is one of the most well rounded players in the history of the game, and was clearly evident even before he won these two tournaments. He even has two Nats top eights (which is both limited and constructed for those of you who talk as if you didn't know that).
Just because you people are jealous of his success doesn't mean that you should talk about Luis in a negative light because you beat him or he beat you or whatever. Just be happy that justice is being served and one of the nicest guys on the PT is finally getting what is owed to him.
Julian (PurE), a valiant attempt to cover up what you said earlier, but I'm not going to allow you to drag me into this also. I've talked to you twice lifetime, and I just got home, so you have no inside information as to how much LSV tested for this format.
Gerry, it was actually very childish of me to try to cover up something so stupid, and I apologize for that.
My first comment was not (intended to be) an attempt to bring him down or anything, I actually don't know what I was thinking. He is such a nice guy, and was very kind when I played against him at the GP and afterwards. He's been our national champion, and hopefully he does well at worlds as he is one of the best players in the nation (obvs). And as for the forums, I'm done as I keep seem to saying things that come out sounding like something I didn't truly intend.
IMO, the best first pick is Sigil of Distinction since it goes in everydeck, no commitment to any color !
I disagree. I don't always first pick it. If I had to choose between that and Broodmate dragon (foil rare) I'd take the dragon. Also I MAY pick necrogenesis over it, since that card is really unfair.
anyway @everyone:.... go go lsv, i will admit he isn't that good at limited, but he is a good player non the less
and if he's on a roll let him be, if you think he shouldn't win, then i guess there just isn't justice in the world, **** happens
He's actually a lot better than he was at KC. Gerry T was telling me about Atlanta and he said that LSV tested more for it, and he was alot more prepared (drafted alot between KC and ATL)
Bah I came off wrong in that post completely, and I forgot I even said that. Now I look like a total ass now that he won ATL (with my boy GT getting 2nd!). I hadn't meant to come off as calling him a bad player at all, he's obviously very good, but my post definately inferred that.
i was never a big fan of 4 heights, they always showed up in my opening hand when i didn't want them, but i will try it out again and see what happens, i don't see why ranger of eos is all that, mirrrorweave wins you the game, RoE gets you 2 dudes
Heights is fine in your opener. You don't need blazing starts against any decks, really. Maybe the mirror but windbrisk is totally absurd in the mirror.
Mirrorweave forces you to have a big board position, and it's only good against decks with no removal.
Ranger of Eos gives you game against wrath of god, and fetches 2 Figure's, or forge-tender (if you need it).

Split w/ Lark.
A Few notes:
Probably should cut a forge-tender from the main for something.
Never boarded in Ajani
Almost always boarded out forge-tender.
Never played Elspeth all day.
Lark is really tough.
Faeries is ~ a bye.
Elspeth is bad in the mirror, Ajani is much better for the mirror.
Elspeth is sick in the mirror. The board frequently gets clogged with dudes and tokens, and the ability to jump your 2/2 First Striker is SOO good and game-breaking.
Ajani isn't even that necessary in the mirror, I cut it for the fog-knight, but I may end up going back. I'm just trying out the fog knight since I have 3 elspeth between the main and the board.
I'll tell you why Elspeth isn't here, as I have made multiple Elspeth decks myself. Shes not in here because she focuses on one creature too much in aggro, and shes a controlish card in every other sense. Please don't confuse all of aggro with White Weenie beaters.
As for Ranger of Eos....he fits well with W/ because of Figure of Destiny, but fetching a few frodos isn't enough to put many of him in.
I just want to point out how wrong this is.
1. Elspeth is VERY good, and gives you a really big edge in the mirror, plus she's a planeswalker, how is she not good?
2. Ranger of Eos is SICK in the mono white version. The above 2 cards give you such an edge vs. control, and ranger danger is just a winner. a 3/2 for 4 that 2 for 1's automatically when he comes in?
Justin Meyer won MN states with mono-white kithkin with this list
Justin Meyer won MN states with mono white kithkin. He beat my friend Jason Scouschboe in the finals, and he hasn't played a standard event in like 2 years, and hadn't played a single match of standard in the new format until last night.

2. Broodmate Dragon
3. Necrogenesis
4. Oblivion Ring
5. Kiss of the Amesha/Branching Bolt
Can't decide on 5, but these are all my fav. cards in 5c which is usually what I end up drafting.

Mutavault isn't the greatest, he wants the akrasan squire to be cut, and he wants a 3rd Elspeth somewhere.
