No idea of how many of you know me from Magic's beginning days. I'm a 3-time team world champ, pro tour champ, and Magic Invitational champ (Rootwater Thief)
I went on after Magic to have good success, in the multi millions each, in business online, with David Mills (David and I ranked #1 and #2 in the world in pro points in MTG at one point)
One of our first businesses online was called Magic Secrets, and it was a book and information product with over the shoulder videos on how to win at Magic. We really had terrific success with our members. One, David Sharfman, went on to become a pro tour champ himself.
After I retired from Magic I went through a phase where I designed several pro championship decks with great team mates like Pat Chapin, LSV, Gabriel Nassif and Jamie Parke.
During that time I filmed some over the shoulder videos on my YouTube channel, and people enjoyed them quite a bit.
Now, several years later, my most recent time playing Magic was with my longtime friend David Williams, the WSOP champ, as he prepared for a recent MTG event maybe 2-3 years back.
Lately I've taken to studying the game and discussing things with David Mills and other pro tour greats Brian Weissman, Matt Place, and others like Richard Garfield and Dan Burdick and decided to put together a series on YouTube to pay it forward.
Along with that series I'll re-release the Magic Secrets ebook in it's original form - or at least final form.
The deck I'll be sharing with you is called "Green Gold."
This card, Evolving Adaptive, was the first inspiration for it:
I believe that this deck will scratch the itch of those looking for an innovative, potentially out of the box approach, to taking advantage of the rich green cards in the Phyrexia spoiler.
If it happens to be something people enjoy you can certainly post questions or comments about my video series here. Or ask me to share something additional.
We'll also be covering some original "20-20 is hindsight" stuff about the original pro tours, look back at Type 1, and even have a look at Brian's favorite, Old School.
