I like the prospect of Boat Brew returning... I've already reacquired all my Larks (which I have a feeling may go up in value again) and other pieces.
Another thought is what lands are going to be "the best"? I mean, we currently have the timespiral storage lands, the future sight cycle, the sha/eve filters and reflecting pool, the alara trilands, the m10 lands and the new fetches. Obviously they all allow for greater manafixing when used in conjunction, but I have this feeling that reflecting pool is going to jump up to around 10-12$ again.
Hey all. I was just wondering what people's thoughts were on the meta for the "new" format.
More specifically, what decks do you see being Tier 1? What cards do you think now may have a chance to shine in the new cardpool?
Personally, with access to stuff like Goyf and finks, I think Jund may be very good for the first few months... After that, it really depends on Scars, but I have a feeling that Faries and 5CC (at least to some extent) may dominate.
Actually, I don't think that's Gideon standing over one fallen Eldrazi... I think that's him standing over SEVERAL of the dead big guys. There are random brood lineage thrown in there... The one close to the bottom right looks like the large red and blue colored one that's been in several pictures, and behind Gideon to the left looks like the giant mushroom of death that all the allies were fighting. There's also random appendages that look like they belong to other Eldrazi that we've seen.
Could it be art for the 'obligatory-large-set-wrath-variant'?
1. So how can the Eye of Ugin exist on a plane different from the Eldrazi plane?
2. So it did something. It contributed to the set.
3. This is pretty much the reverse of the JTR argument. People say JTR is overcosted because the other ally effects are undercosted. Now you're saying an entire group of cards are overcosted because they decided to print and incoherent card that makes them normal costed? WTF?
1. It's the exact same plane. I'm pretty sure 99% of the people on this site know that.
2. It's a plant for a future set. So what? QQ more.
3. We know nothing of the Eldrazi yet, save for the fact that they 'might' be colorless.
I love bit blast due to the fact that it's bit blast, however I've gotten times when I've cascaded into a DoJ or another burn spell when there's only one creature on the field. However, it definitely gets SB'd out when playing against Jacerator/Turbofog due to the lack of creatures.
As for burst lightning, yeah it can be annoying at times if you cascade into it, but it's such a versatile burn spell that I can't complain. I've won a few games against turbofog thanks to the 4 points of burn.
Yeah, the whole Jenova thing was something that randomly popped up during testing and we just ran with it... I'm honestly not sure myself, haha.
But as far as Liliana goes, we're thinking about cutting her down to only one slot. Whereas games have been won with her ultimate, she is, essentially, an expensive discard.
Hey everybody. This is a deck that my playgroup and I have been extensively testing, and we think it's pretty solid. I've taken it to several FNMs and it's placed in the top 3 every single time.
...And that's the deck. And it is pretty much what looks to be on the surface: Burn/remove the living hell out of everything. Despite the color intensive card pool, I've never had mana be a problem, and the Orchards REALLY help with that. Play Jund? There's another red/black source. Play Naya? Red/white. It has a great matchup against the two aforementioned decks and Vampires (which is fairly common in my area.) Now, the only other creature-heavy deck that is normally encountered is Bushwhacker, which is also easily dealt with via the sideboard, well at least the Pyroclasms in the sideboard:
The duress and the scullers are in there for control decks, the relic for the random crypt-combo decks I've come up against, and the 3rd bloodwitch is in there because Naya is bigger in my area than Jund is, and the bloodwitch is REALLY good at taking PtE's to the face.
So anyway, that's that. Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry if this is the wrong place, I've never posted in these parts of the forum before.
Anyway, here's the issue: When I tried to boot up MTGO today, it wouldn't start and instead gave me an "internet error" stating that "The latest version of Magic Online's 'kicker' program could not be downloaded."
Does anyone know what this means? Or how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
Actually, the guy was a jerk. I was with my friend when the guy closed the bid, and my friend had messaged the guy asking if he legitimately had the packs... The seller responded with something along the lines of "LOL, if you're so skeptical, then I'll just close the auction".
So I suppose it's sort of my buddy's fault. Sorry guys.
I attack with a solo preeminent captain. Can I have the exalted trigger, and then put another soldier in to play due to the captain's ability, and still have the exalted bonus? Does it even matter because the captain was originally attacking alone? When looking at the wording on the captain and the 'exalted' ability, common sense says that yes, this probably works, but I'm no rules expert.
Thanks all... Apparently the store is also holding a Sealed Deck tournament. I'm going to assume that the strategies for picking cards will generally be the same, but any pointers as far as that goes? Apparently we're getting a Tournament Deck (So I'm going to assume the 75 cards w/lands thing, not the Shard-themed intro packs) and three boosters.

That's Gideon. 99% sure. He's even got his whip-lasso thing of justice.

Now be a good troll and climb back in your hole.
