I think for sure you can cut an electromancer, As for the other one, either a grapeshot or a peer seems fine, what are you mainly expecting to face? Or is your meta pretty diverse? You are only running 2 remands have you been happy for them or do you just mainly remand your grapeshot? One thing that i would be a little wary to cut a peer is it helps find sideboard cards and is nuts with blessing.

I'm trying to figure out what the 2 blessing are slotted over on my list because I alsobplay 7 reducers

What's your list? I assume you are running 4 remands and 3 grapeshot's? I cut my etw and a grapeshot, I am running 3 remands, a peer, 2 grapeshot and a revival, it may seem.clunkly but I am loving all of it especially against the sheer about of rock style/Death shadow I am seeing. At least pre board.

I have been using truth as a catch all, I have been Siding in a repeal and a truth in matchup where I am not 100% sure what I need to worry about, truth is great against leylines but also work great because you can gifts for it, but, it doesn't get around chalice. It is randomly can just be helpful. I side it in just because it is hard to know what people will bring in game 2. I don't normally mull for it, depending on the matchup you don't normally need it immediately. But, I am definitely a novice, take what I say with a grain of salt. Just my musings

Hey everyone, I just picked up this deck and have been finding jund to be a really rough matchup much harder than ds or hatebears. Preboard it seems they are slightly favored but post board I have had insane trouble between what they get as opposed to what I get. It would probably help if I posted my list, anyone have any tips, there is enough ds, jund and rock style decks that are making me want to try leylines in my board -_-

Because with MTG all the variables need to be %99.9 the same for a card to be considered strictly better. The easiest example is Lightning Bolt vs Shock.

    -Both cost R
    -Both are Instant
    -Both are red
    -Both target creature or player

The 0.1% difference is that lightning bolt deals 1 extra damage with all other variables the same, making it strictly better.

EDIT: Not debating about which card is better, just clearing up the meaning of "strictly better/worse"

Not strictly better, what if a player mindslavers. On the turn they draw a shock instead of a bolt; you are at 3. they bring you to one and give you a possibility of winning rather just losing on the spot.

To people posting about MM changing the prices, that is very unlikely, they have said there will be very limited availability more so than from the vault, also there are some new artworks too. So, in terms of the cards reducing price that is a pipe dream.

It is one of the most bannable cards in storm.

are you saying that pyro should be banned and storm is good...? I hope you are trolling...

I think a majority of Modern cards have dropped significantly from when Modern was first announced as a format and I guess that's why a lot of people seem to think it's almost as expensive as Legacy, because it was at the very start. I remember looking at Hallowed Fountain back then and it cost more than Badlands.

I think it's because people were excited to play the format only to find that most of the decks they made were banned and they were reduced to playing cards like serum visions for library manipulation. one pillar of magic seems to be completely absent from modern, combo.

burn is usually a pretty good matchup for us. things like volcanic fallout can wreck us though. thorn really shines in this match up as it's prettymuch a 1 sided sphere. ooze can help out of the sideboard as well as if you run white. you should watch out now for pillar as that wrecks us if you can't deal with it

the main reason bob isn't seeing a lot of play is because he isn't that great against things like delver. They are both amazing cards. One isn't strictly better than the other as they fill different roles in a deck. It mainly depends on your deck. Your deck will likely show which creature is better for your deck.

Also, Bob is nuts against maverick, unless they have fire/grove online.

Let's just say you cast adns with having 1 fetch in the grave and 3 lands in play, 1 ad ns, 1 duress, 1 silence, 2 led, 1 rit, 1 infernal, 1 rof that takes out 11 mana from the deck and 12 cards, the probe list runs 50, the more traditional list runs 54.

average flip is .813 per card for probe list
average flip is .896 per card for traditional list

average flip is 1 000 per spell of the probe list
average flip is 1.103 per spell for the traditional list

One advantage of the probe list is it can't flip any other 5's
So the adn flips are by default less volatile as the only horrible thing to flip is the maindeck etw, so it also has that added benefit.

The problem with the moxen is that they are atrocious when you are not going off or are not being ripped to shreds by wasteland. In multiples it's almost always a mull. Before you debase something totally due to personal taste, you should try it yourself with an open mind. Think about it this way, the average cmc of the deck at the point above is .813, if you were to probe you would pay the two life but add the cost of the average ad n flip at that time which is the .813 which means you are paying 1.187 life to see that card

I understand my math sucks, I am sure many people here could find a formula much better than mine, but I haven't taken a math class in about 5 years now. My point is that probe isn't that bad of a card, you aren't really paying 2 life, you are paying closer to 1 to add 1 storm and cycle, it also adds the protection of knowing when it's safe to combo off and can work wonders with brainstorm. Besides, you can always pay the alternative cost of 1 blue...

I am very new to T.E.S. I would go to say I am downright horrible as I haven't even goldfished it enough. I would like to point out a couple of things about the deck that haven't been mentioned, the average cmc of the deck is slower by 4 mana in total, therefore the amount of damage taken from adn should be lower. (I hope you don't mind mini, I have used your list as a starting point and using it for this example) The probe list is much less volatile as it's much harder to die with adn. Once you cast it, you at worst flip a 1 4 cmc card. Mini's list has the possibility of flipping a 4 and a 5. Probe seems amazing in conjunction with ponder/brainstorm.

A matchup I am having a very bad time with is reanimator before boarding. I think part of it was his nuts hands. But it seems like a very hard matchup as long as they have a force and can reanimate jin.

Sr_Stompy, I agree with you. In testing mox seems only good when you are in the process of going off. Otherwise it is almost always frustrating, especially when drawn in multiples. I am thinking of finding space for the probe.

can we stop with this possible Tx WIN!!!! i could make a deck and go t1 land+ssg+ritual+song+song+song+dragonstorm, but it isn't that likely. It got annoying pre-bans would complain about modern being a t2-3 turn format. it's fallacious, it's similar to people saying that the game ends on turn 1 all the time in legacy. let's look at it this way

if mox is unbanned what happens?
tfk and artifacts get better. maybe opal is playable and MAYBE thoughtcast
is this archetype degenerative? it seems like it could make a deck viable.

    Ban mr. T
it's good for the format in every way, except zoo become stronger against mid range decks.

    jitte
is much more broken than sfm, this card is nutz an is definitely on par with some of the better cards on the banned list in terms of degeneration of the format.

those are just examples. Just hatch out your arguments more. What happens to the current format when something gets banned or unbanned and does a deck just go over the edge
