This move makes sense specially the worlds part instead of a large worlds a small high profile event with full coverage may even make it to some obscure corner of ESPN.

They did that before. No one cared.

Significantly easier now that a bunch of slots aren't eaten up by people who get garunteed spots based on Past PT performances?

Where have they said that those invitations are going to be redistributed? Assuming you are talking about the top 50 invites, they haven't said anything about increasing PTQ's or anything. If anything PTs will just be smaller.

This could also effect dealers/vendors, since if a ptq is held in house, stores wouldn't have to sell out vendor space and just be able to buy cards with no competition, (no more going from dealer to dealer seeing how much they are buying/selling something for).

So are they going to do away with their tag line of "play the game, see the world" since there is no longer the pipe dream of winning regionals, then placing at nationals, and getting to go to worlds (ala Anthony Eason last year)

Also, what happens if someone wins two PT's in one year? There are terms lined out saying that the ratings invites pass down, but will the PT invite go to one of the 2nd place finishers, and then how would they decide which 2nd place person gets the invite? While it is pretty unlikely to matter, it still seems like something that should have been stated, so when it eventually does happens everyone isn't waiting for questions to be answered then.

I was talking to the regional PTO (premier tournament organizer) this past weekend at a PTQ, and he said that PTQ's may be getting taken out of PTO's hands and given to stores. He said that there was a interview done by the wizards CEO (I looked around and couldn't find one though) a month or so ago where the tl;dr was that he was wanted to integrate stores into the PTQ process more and that it was unnecessary for them to be held by PTO's.

Has anyone else heard this? Would this mean that the prizes could be worse (no plane tickets to winner?)

After looking around, I believe the interview that they were referring to was http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/21062.html, specifically where it mentions
The decisions we have made, including our most recent decisions on the Pro Tour Qualifiers have to do with getting people into stores where they can spend their money and help the retailer, so the retailers can invest back in creating the community....

    And
Having said all that, we do have Grand Prix events (which by the way we are having more and more of and are very important to our success), often run by store owners, but sometimes by the old fashioned Professional Tournament Organizers. So it’s not like we completely eliminated the relationship with those people that run events. But we are continually trying to make sure that stores get the greatest reward for the investment they put into the community.

Signets are okay if you cant afford better manafixing, the only problem is that its not if they get blown up, its when, because disk, or o-stone blow up the world effects happen practically everygame. So if all your mana is signet/artifact based it gets blown up as well..

in todays planeswalkers guide to new phyrexia there is art that could easily be for a b/g dual land..

    from this article

also was anyone else thinking they could remake some form of shockland with the phyrexian mana symbol? maybe just removing the basic subtypes so peoples manabases couldnt get absurd with fetchlands?

shouldn't the steady progress question be like the old ruling with zap, where the opp is at one like and u have no cards in hand, resulting in you losing, because if you would simultaneously win and lose, you lose

    nvm im wrong

I feel your pain, but in less... evocative terms. Many of the old cards can come back--Sinkhole was uncommon, just like Sol Ring--but I'm sad to see that MTGO gets awesome sets that we IRL types cannot have. Talk about a loophole in a no-reprint policy. Perhaps in the distant future we can have holographic copies that look like paper and can be played on a table, projected onto our blank cards. That wouldn't violate the reprint policy, right?

    sinkhole was common

Well we know that Swords to Plowshares is in, and there will no doubt be other removal, however it is still a large (flying) threat.

Interesting note - I've seen hundreds of power nine in person, however I've never actually seen an Ebon Dragon in person (not even from a vender!)

With what's left in the set, there are far worse things to open in draft.

get one of those pieces of power and ill trade u for my ebon dragon

    Quote from ThePeople"sHero
I was wondering what the likelihood of a "split" or "shared" spark could be. We know that most sparks lay dormant, and few are ignited to become true planeswalkers. We have seen sparks transferred between characters (Glissa, Slobad). Sparks can be sacrificed (Teferi, others). Sparks can be "lost" (Ob Nixilis).

So could a spark be divided between two entities? Imagine a Lich lord who places a part of his essence into some kind of undead familiar, for safe keeping. Or a kind of demonic pact where the soul of a planeswalker is shared between a pair of sibling demons? A wizard who creates clones of himself, each time diluting his essence among the copies? Other, better examples?

Could this be possible? What other possibilities are there in "planeswalker spark dynamics"?

it sounds like your describing how Voldemort spread his power in the harry potter books, except with lesser beings, rather than inanimate objects.
