    Equip 3 mana

I'm assuming you just forgot the 'equipment' type...anyway, it still doesn't match up with Steamflogger Boss, so I'll just build a workaround.

    Vedalken Craftmaster U
    Creature - Vedalken Artificer Rigger
T: Assemble target Contraption attached to Vedalken Craftmaster (to assemble a Contraption, but an assembly counter on it).

    Steamflogger's Mantle 1
    Artifact - Equipment
As long as equipped creature is a rigger, if a rigger you control would assemble a contraption, it assembles two contraptions instead.
Equipped creature gets +1/+0 and has haste.
    Equip 2 mana

I really enjoy seeing a meaning to "contraption," and I like the idea of a certain amount of work being done on an artifact before it "works." However, the language of "assembles two contraptions" as in the original Steamflogger Boss doesn't sound like it could mean "assemble a contraption twice"--does "choose two contraptions and put an assembly counter on each" make sense?

I propose simplifying it to an on/off status: a contraption artifact comes onto the battlefield "unassembled" and can then be "assembled" or "disassembled." Then "Spell assembles a contraption" or "Permanent assembles a contraption" means to put an assembly counter on a target contraption. Contraptions can have protection from qualities. Spells or permanents with those qualities cannot assemble or disassemble them, because assembling is a targeted effect.

We could also give contraptions "assembly" costs to assemble them outright.

    Magnifying Lens 1
    Artifact - Contraption
As long as Magnifying Lens is assembled, all equipment has "Equipped creature gets +1/+1." (If there are any assembly counters on ~, it is assembled.)
Disassemble Magnifying Lens: unattach target equipment (To disassemble ~, remove all assembly counters from it.)
Assembly U (Pay U: Magnifying Glass assembles itself)

    Quote from Kijin
    1. Buy a Monster binder. They are extremely difficult to tamper with or steal from. It is extremely difficult to "slight of hand out" cards tightly side-loaded together, as you can in traditional binder pages or in Ultra Pro binders.
    2. Never stack multiple cards beyond possibly sliding cards in back-to-back in a single slot. You 1 - ruin the binder pages by stretching them out 2 - once you trade one copy, it makes anything left behind easier to fall out 3- it makes it harder to use the binder if you ever need to repurpose it. I used to stack my binder pages 10 per slot. Even 3+ cards per slot can do damage. Even 2 per slot is not the best, but you get maximum use per page. You will WRECK your Monster binder this way.
    3. If you've done steps 1 and 2, you can also tape down the slots so it's even more difficult to remove cards. It makes trading cards slightly harder, as you have to remove stuff on your own, but if you're worried about thievery, it's a simple precaution.

I, personally, lay out copies of cards next to each other in a Monster binder and keep extras stowed away in a box if you need additional copies or to replace copies traded from the binder. I do not do step 3 because, as someone with some stage Magic experience, I'm pretty good at doing and detecting slight of hand. I also don't sleep with a tinfoil hat.

Thank you for the wise steps Smile I think I will skip on step 3 as well though. It seems that it will make things messy and potentially lead to damaged cards. Frown I get sad if any card other than Tortoise Formation gets hurt.

Right now I put cards in 2-of-3 slots on each row so that I can insert other cards without having to rearrange a lot. Stupid idea?

If you have multiples of the same card, do you put them together in one slot, or do you put them one per slot?

I put multiples of the same card in the same slot to reduce the amount of rearranging I have to do in order to keep everything in my proper sequence.

However, today at a launch event, someone browsing my binder took one of my two Molten-Tail Masticores and I didn't realize it until tonight when I happened to be inserting a bunch of newly acquired rares. I don't actually know if spacing them out would have caused me to notice it immediately.

tl;dr: a $20 rare got stolen from my binder, and I'm considering putting multiples separate to prevent it from happening again without my immediate notice

Where I come from we have a saying that goes something like this: "He who doesn't wail doesn't get to suck from the teat." In other words, if you just passively take unfairness on and just resignate, no one is going to feel obliged to make amends for you. Go and politely hand in your Steel Hellkite saying that you'll be quite happy to give it back and receive the Wurmcoil that is rightfully yours. Most likely there will be at least one player that didn't attend the prerelease so he should get your Steel Hellkite.

I didn't glean from that e would necessarily prefer the PR card to the R card. (Hey, remember when they were the same for one set? Poor Ajani Vengeant Frown )

But I suppose the PR card will probably have a better trade and secondary market value.

I'm not sure how that card does anything to the previous. In fact, with a CMC greater than 7 the previous card would destroy it. Also, why is the 2nd ability costed higher than the equip cost? Anyway...

Thanks, I fixed the equipment so it is indestructible as well, which is what I intended. The other ability is costed higher because it attaches at instant-speed, whereas equipping happens at sorcery speed.

btw, I added "aura" to your typeline and put "enchant equipment" as its own line to be consistent w/ WotC templating Smile
