Unless the next nonland card is 2 mana or less, you lose it forever. If it's a 3-drop or more, it stays in exile and all you have is a 2/1 first strike plus two energy you may have no other use for. Unlike cascade, which keeps going until it finds a suitable card, this stops dead on the next nonland, regardless of whether you can cast it or not.

I did 3-0 in my cube with mono red and Amped Raptor has been crazy. Taking into account almost all your cards (even noncreatures) are 2cmc or less it means an alomost guaranteed 2-for-1 in an already very pushy aggro deck. For this reason I had to cut it.

Nobody is talking about Fell the Profane:

    2BB
    Instant
    Destroy target creature or planeswalker.

    DFC Land
As CARDNAME enters the battlefield, you may pay 3 life. If you don't it enters the battlefield tapped.

It will make into my cube easily. I don't mind paying 4 mana for a spot removal if I have a land in the back. Many DFC lands from ZNR proved very handy in the past.

I'm organizing an online peasant cube draft in the MTG Cube Talk Discord community. It's asynch since people usually have families, jobs and kids so this way it's easier to accommodate matches throughout the week. My goal is to have a periodic peasant cube online drafting hub so we can test and discuss our peasant environments among us.

The idea is roughly like this: we gather all the players (say 6 or 8 ideally) at one specific date and time just to draft in Draftmancer, which takes only 20-25 minutes. Then after the draft round 1 is generated and each player schedules their R1 match with their opponent at people's convenience.

This is the system that they use in the The Pauper Cube Discord community and I found it very convenient and effective to accommodate people with busy schedules and even maybe, from different time zones too.

I'll leave the Discord server link here if anyone wants to join https://discord.gg/Z287wQbN

The draft sheet will be in the #online_draft_events channel, so you can check there for submitting your attendance. The thread will be called Peasant Cube Asynch Draft.

It seems that right now there are enough cards for our rarity restriction to build good artifact matters archetypes.

@Leelue, I've just recently added Blade-Blizzard Kitsune to my list and it has been extremely efficient and fun. I think more peasant curators should include it. I've also understood why you play Viashino Slaughtermaster and why Mayhem Patrol is desirable when at first it seems so mid. Aggro is much more fun with first and double strike shenanigans in its sleeve.

Personally I'm still trying to make control a thing. I will playtest your cube whenever I can to see how it performs, but for what I've seen aggro is pretty strong in your list, if not the most favored.

Selesnya decks in my cube usually has creature focused plans but "landing creatures, pumping them and attacking" is as much en Selesnya thing as it is a Gruul or a Boros thing. Are you happy about those guilds in your cube? If you are, what exactly makes your drafters go Gruul or Boros but not Selesnya?

What Boros does that I like and encourages me to draft it:

    • Burn. Can finish off your opponents if you can't swing the last points of damage by combat.
    • The weenie aspect of it. Attacking with a swarm of little 2/1's with combat synergies is more fun than buffing a bear that can be destroyed thus warping your whole game plan.
    • Equipment synergies, although I don't have them in my cube.
    • Token generation like Baird, Argivian Recruiter or Skyknight Vanguard which can blend easily into Mardu Aristocrats.
    • Hasty creatures in red.
    • Creatures in red with prowess or that deal damage to the face upon entering the battlefield.
    • Red shenanigans

What Gruul does that I like and encourages me to draft it:

    • Mauling my opponents to death with roaring dinosaurs
    • Trample
    • Haste again
    • Being able to lean towards Jund for graveyard recursion, reanimation and powerful removal

I'm quite happy to lean Selesnya towards Bant or Abzan though. I don't know if Naya in peasant is good enough. In my little experience the combined aggressiveness of white, red and green is too redundant to be able to pull off interesting or powerful things in this format, but I could be wrong.

Lastly, I've played a Selesnya Auras deck in June monthly draft of The Pauper Cube's community and I had so much fun. Mostly because the presence of Qasali Pridemage, two 3/3 auras, flyers in white, Primanl Huntbeast and some good combat interaction for saving/pumping my creatures. Maybe if I include some auras like Elephant Guide I can tailor Selesnya more towards something I could deem fun.

Yesterday I was chatting with a guy on Discord about Selesnya in peasant. My argument was that drafters don't usually go into Selesnya because the play patterns are too straightforward and boring (landing creatures, pumping them and attacking). Is that the case? What's your experience with Selesnya in your own cubes? Are you happy with its current state?

Basically, my current impression is that Rosie is a legitimately insane, kill-on-sight magic card.

That's why I never even considered adding Rosie in the first place. Token generation can turn degenerate in very few steps, which I think some higher power peasant cubes can compete against but something which I don't encourage in mine. I've thought many times about if I want a +1/+1 counters continuous engine for white and I guess I'd rather take the challenge to provide for them with other less snowball-y ways.

In: Denethor, Ruling Steward Out: Fleshtaker the issue was that all my WB cards were the same mana cost.

Is Denethor's activated ability good enough to make it worth the inclusion? I will add it too, but I wonder about that. The static ability and the body are perfect though.

After watching the Pro Tour Phyrexia I just want to come here and sell you Hidden Strings for peasant. Specially for untapping lands.

This is something I kinda thought about in the past too. Specifically I cut all the unconditional removal that didn't ask for a steeper cost, such as Power Word Kill. I want all my black removal to have some target restriction or some higher price to pay for it. In the same fashion I also cut Swords to Plowshares. About Soulherder, I also thought about cutting it because it's either too fragile or too powerful. But since is the signpost card of a whole archetype I'm still letting it stay.

Something I did recently is axing aristocrats all together. I like the archetype a lot but if you get some pieces you just start interacting with your own board and pinging your opponent at the same time up to the point it gets non-interactive.

This maybe comes as an outdated question, but it is something I still haven't figured out. Is Sea Gate Oracle something like a peasant staple? I get it is cantrip on a body plus maybe a good roadblock (or it was when aggro didn't have so many cheap 3-power creatures). I'd like to know what's the current general opinion on it nowadays. Back in the day I cut it because I thought it was uninteresting but maybe I'm missing something.

I'm also interested in Chimney Rabble. It would be nice to know more opinions about it.

Beetleback offers more bodies, and that’s what you want in these cards, to go wide. But the body is not exciting compared with Chimney, as it has more impact with its better stats and haste.

I also like Chimney Rabble more than Beetleback Chief. Beetleback Chief is better in an aristocrats deck but the body is unexciting. A hasty 3/3 plus a token is good enough for aristocrats and for broader red based archetypes. Personally I love hasty creatures so this guy buys me. I don't have room for it in my cube but if I had to choose between both I'd definitely stick with Rabble.
